Chameli Devi Group of Institutions

Chameli Devi Group of Institutions (CDGI) is the brain child of a great visionary, the chairman Shri Vinod Kumar Agarwal and his Board of Governors (BOG). The highly reputed academicians and industrialists in the BOG, guided by the chairman, were determined to come up with an Institution that could provide quality professional education in the field of Engineering & Management in the true sense and spirit. With the regulating authorities also providing the required impetus, the BOG was motivated to welcome the Integrated Campus Scheme of the AICTE and bring the highly rated CITM & CIMR under the banner of CDGI. The primary aim of coming up with an Integrated Campus was to extend the best educational facilities to students of this region at a reasonable cost.

Objectives of the Management :

Inspired by core values and principles of social, religious and spiritual causes, the Agarwal Group resolved to dedicate itself to the highest level of social commitment in India. In the process it founded the Maa Charitable Trust, which introduced the Chameli Devi Institute of Technology & Management at Indore in the Year 2006. The institute was established under the chairmanship of a great visionary Shri. Vinod Kumar Agarwal and Vice Chairman Shri Sanjay Kumar Agarwal in honour and ever loving memory of their respected parents Late Smt. Chameli Devi Agarwal and Late Shri Ram Kumar Agarwal. Within a short span of 7 years, CITM now known as CDSE carved a niche for itself in the field of Engineering education of being an institute known for academics and discipline. Encouraged by this sterling performance of the Engineering. College, the Agarwal Group introduced the Chameli Devi Institute of Management and Research (CIMR) in the year 2008 to provide quality management education to the students of this region. Their vision was to create top class, globally acceptable managers with outstanding leadership and managerial skills.One of the Central India's largest business and educational empire, the Agarwal Group has a vision to create a first line breed of Engineering and Management professionals in this part of the country. The management aims at imparting to the students the rich and time tested values of Indian ethics and culture along with the latest technical skills, so that students will acquire human values in the process of achieving technical excellence.

Citronics

CITRONICS is a Techno-management event organised every year by Chameli Devi Group of Institutions, Indore.The first event was organised during the academic year 2009-10, it had 16 events in it and the total prize money was Rs.3 Lakks and around 1200 students from 20 colleges in the state participated. The second one was conduced durnig the academic year 2010-11, the prize money went up to Rs. 5 Lakhs whcih also had 16 events, around 1700 students from 20 colleges participated. Encouraged by tremendous response the third was conducted during the academic year 2011-12 at national level, having 25 events and the prize money being Rs.7 lakhs., around 2000 students from various colleges covering 6 states of India participated. During academic year 2012-13 the fourth one was held which also was conducted at national level,and the prize money was Rs.7 Lakhs. Stuents from 6 different states of India numbering around 2500 participated. This helps in the sprit of cooperation,teamwork and planning of events.

E-campus

It is CDGI Online web Portal. through which Students and Faculty members can communicate to each other ,staff can post subject materials ,notes,etc. Online delivery of lectures are planned .This portal shows online the status of students related to his or her attendance, IA marks, MST marks etc. Circulars are being circulated among the Faculty members and students of CDGI. Parents also can know the performance of their wards through this web portal. This helps you to communicate with staff and management any time as per your convenience.

Mentoring System

The CDGI Mentorship Program is a one point of contact for students and Parents. Offers every student a unique opportunity to develop relationships with his Mentor and allows him or her to explore the information and advice related to academic and professional development. It builds a synergy between present students and the alumni and leads to developing a strong, global network of CDGI students. By this you can get valuable guidance in planning your carrer.

Academic Plan

It is a plan to transform theoretical Knowledge in to actual practice. Under the able directorship of its Director Dr. S Rajashekharaiah, founder Vice Chancellor of the reputed Visweswaraya Technological University Belgaum, of Karnataka, CDGI has formulated a time tested and fully validated, State-of-the-art program in terms of its teaching-learning process, Syllabi, Faculty resource, Internship, Placement & Corporate Networking. He is ably supported by a seasoned academicians, administrators and a team of experienced faculty and office staff. We have successfully implemented in our UG programmes and thus it will help you to study with a purpose in mind and achieve excellence.

LIbrary

We have a library which well stocked with books and journals. We subscribe to all the journals of IEEE, Science Direct, we are also members of DELNET and other online journals and the students have free access to these online and print journals, which will help you in prosecuting your studies and research.

Salient features of M.Tech Programme

CDGI is known for its Campus discipline and regular class conduction of Undergraduate course and Post Graduate Courses .The Syllabus of M.Tech Course is designed by RGPV Bhopal to provide a strong blend of class room lectures, tutorials, laboratory work, hands on practice oriented projects, design projects, plant visits and seminars.

The concept of transparent continuous evaluation is followed. Evaluation of lab work, tutorial work, project work and seminars is on continuous basis, and students have to appear in 3 intrenal test for the award of Internal Assessment Marks.. Students are required to be regular in attendance. Grading system is followed by the university.

CDGI has emphasized and encouraged research right from its founding in the year 2006. Research-oriented M.Tech. program is started from the academic year 2013-14, and potential for quality research has always been an important criterion in faculty selection. A fundamental principle followed at CDGI from day one is that teaching and research must remain equally vital and important elements in the shaping of an academic institution.

An important aim of the research activity at CDGI Indore is to enhance the quality of interaction between the institute and industry for solving technical problems in the broad field of Computer Science & Engineering and IT. Equally important is the aim of stimulating and enhancing the research ability and potential of CDGI students who have the interest and aptitude to carry out innovative research. At present active research is being carried out within the institute into various aspects of Computer Science & Engineering ,Information and Technology (IT), and also into the many ways in which IT impacts society and cultureThe institute well-equipped with laboratories, specialized equipment, including campus-wide networking and high-speed internet access, subscription to hundreds of print and online journals, and more. Attractive stipends and scholarships are available for the right candidates as incentives for post-graduate research.

IBM foresees the transition of young minds from a larva stage computer engineer to a developed expertise in software development and latest technologies through their incomparable training programme. GUIDELINES FOR M.TECH STUDENTS

ADMISSION PROCEDURE :Master of Technology (Computer Science & Engineering)

This Program is primarily research-oriented and designed to satisfy the demands of industry for innovative solutions. Apart from course credit requirement, students are required to pursue one full year (two semesters) of research under the guidance of a faculty advisor and submit a master’s thesis in order to obtain their degree of Master of Technology (Computer Science & Engineering). It is a two year degree Program. This Program is focused to provide a domain capability to each student that allows them to have a meaningful career in industry or academics.

• Number of seats –

Approved intake capacity is 18 seats . Please refer to the following websites for more information

• Reservation of seats –

16%, 20% and 14% seats of sanctioned intake shall be reserved for the candidates belonging to SC, ST and OBC (excluding creamy layer) categories respectively as notified by the state government in this regard.

• Eligibility for admission –

• The Candidates should be an Indian National.

• Educational Qualifications:

A candidate seeking admission to M.E./ M.Tech courses should be a Graduate in Engineering/Technology with at least 50% marks, Candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC (excluding creamy layer) categories of Madhya Pradesh with at least 45% marks. Bachelors degree of minimum of four years duration after passing Higher Secondary 12th of (10+2) system or equivalent, should have been obtained from any AICTE approved institution or Indian University or from a foreign University recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or institute recognized by the AIU as equivalent thereto.

NOTE:

(i) A candidate seeking admission to M.E./M.Tech courses must secure at least 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination.

(ii) Candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC (excluding creamy layer) categories of Madhya pradesh with at least 45% marks.

(iii) Candidates in the Final year of above degree examinations can also apply on provisional basis. But at the time of counseling, such candidates shall have to produce the original certificate of having passed/mark sheet of the final year of the degree examination.

(vi) Rounding of marks or percentage is not permissible.

Admission and declaration of merit list –

(a) Following shall be the admission procedure for ME/M.Tech. Courses-

1. Competent Authority shall invite the online applications for ME/M.Tech. Courses and Candidates shall be required to fill up online application.

2. Competent Authority shall declare merit list for GATE qualified candidates (based on score and rank obtained).

Procedure of Admission

General Information of admission: -

1. Admission shall be done through Counselling on the basis of common merit lists.

2. Admission shall be done through Counselling on the basis of the common ranking list. The programme of Counselling shall be published in various news papers and shall also be available on website of competent authority/Director Technical Education, M.P. Bhopal i.e. www.dtempcounselling.org/ www.mptechedu.org. No separate call letters shall be sent to the candidates.

3. the sequence of admission shall be as in the counseling of general pool, first candidates of reserved categories shall be called in the following order, so that vacant reserved seats can be mutually converted.

4. After having selected the Seat/Institution, the candidate shall have to report in the concerned institution before the cut-off date, which will be mentioned in the admission slip issued by the Competent Authority at the time of counselling.

5.In the institution where candidate is selected, candidate shall have to complete all formalities and he/she shall pay the remaining amount of fees etc. in the institution where he/she is admitted within seven days of issue of admission slip.

6.All the candidates shall be required to pay the fees in the institution as per the rules of Government of Madhya Pradesh as applicable to them on the date of admission.

7. The candidates are required to visit the web site of Competent Authority i.e. www.dtempcounselling.org/ www.mptechedu.org.

8. Selected candidates shall be required to submit full Tuition fee of one semester in the admitted institution, within stipulated time, failing which candidate shall forfeit the claim of admission on allotted seat.

9. Transfer of institution shall not be permitted.

10. All admissions shall be completed on or before the last date declared by the Chancellor.

• Original Documents:

During the Counseling process the original documents presented by the candidates shall be verified with originals and original documents will be returned back to the candidates. However candidates need not to submit such original documents in the admitted institutions.

• Cancellation of Admission: -

If a candidate gets his/her admission cancelled prior to 7 (seven) days before the last date of admission as declared by the Chancellor of the Universities, then Rs.1000/- will be deducted from the part of tuition fee deposited by the candidate with counselling authority and any tuition fee / other fee deposited by the candidate with the institution shall be refunded back to the candidate, after deducting 10% from the deposited amount. However, counselling fee is non refundable.If admission is cancelled after the last date of admission then, no Tution fee and other fee (except Caution Money) shall be refunded back.

• Tuition and other Fees:-

Tuition fee and other fee, as decided by the Admission & Fee Regulatory Committee/ State Government/ University, shall be applicable.

• Documents to be submitted along with the application forms:-

(1) Mark-sheet of qualifying examination.

(2) Valid GATE score card.

HOSTEL

• CDGI Boys’ hostel offers a decent & affordable accommodation to its students in the Campus. It is the place where one becomes confident, self dependent, determinant, focused and ambitious.

• The most important concern of parents while looking for the hostels is security. All hostelites are required to strictly abide by the rules & regulations laid down by the college authorities.

• An anti-ragging committee has been set up under the chairmanship of director, to ruthlessly curb this menace in the hostel.

• Our hostilities have achieved land marks in the field of academics and sports.

HOSTEL CAPACITY

In the Campus there are 3 hostels for boys only.

Junior Hostel:Having a capacity of 56 in three seater rooms exclusively for First Year students only.

Senior Hostel:Having a capacity of 116 in three seater rooms for higher classes.

PG Hostel:Having a capacity of 81 for PG students.

HOSTEL FACILITIES

1. Every student is provided with one writing table, chair, almirah, small runner, cot & bed.

7. Indoor sports facilities include two sets of Table Tennis table, four sets of Carrom & Chess boards.

8. Outdoor sports facilities include play ground, cricket kit, football, volleyball & Kho-kho.

9. One generator room.

10. Mess for students.

11. Medical facility is also provided for the hostelites which include regular visits of doctors.

Mess

Excellent, nutritious food is provided in the well maintained college Mess for students residing in Hostels. They will be provided:

• Breakfast and Tea in the morning

• Lunch in the afternoon

• Snacks and Tea in the evening

• Dinner in the night

• All vegetarian food only

Canteen

The Canteen has spacious area with two floors which caters to the needs of all the day scholars. Refreshment and Snacks along with cold drinks and hot beverages is provided at competitive prices under clean and hygienic conditions in the Ground floor. Lunch and Dinner is served in the First floor.

Training & Placement Department:

The academic excellence at CDGI is reflected in its student's record in placements in the corporate and engineering sectors. CDGI has consistently maintained an excellent recruitment record and stand testimony to the high professional standards aimed. The enginering and management graduates of CDGI have been recruited by some of the leading global multinational corporations and Indian companies.

CDGI prepares the students through different training modules to work in global multinational corporations/industries. The department has full time staff and provides quick response to the communications received. The CDGI campus has the state-of-the-art facility for the campus drive. The same will be extended to PG students also.
