DUBAI METRO / RTA REQUIREMENTS IN TENDER DOCUMENTS

Long Term Climate Information Book 2001 (dpt of Civil Aviation of Dubai):

From 1984 until 2001 the maximum temperature is 47.5°C 23%.

- Data from the Dubai airport (detailed data for year 2003).

Maximum temperature in 2003 was 46°C 10%

The system must work at 52°C 10%RH with an internal temperature of 27°C.

DUBAI EL SAFOUH TRAMWAY / RTA REQUIREMENTS IN TENDER DOCUMENTS

=> Difference of temperature of 22°C requested between the interior and exterior

High capacity needed for the Air conditioning system to comply with above requirements

HIGHER IS THE CAPACITY HIGHER WILL BE ENERGY CONSUMPTION

The outside conditions to be considered in the design are the following:

Dry bulb temperature: 47°C

For the other conditions, refer to Appendix B attached to the General Specifications (Annual

Climate and weather in Dubai).,

The A/C shall maintain a temperature of less than 25°C during at least 95% of the

operation time in Dubai, at 4 passengers/m2.

The tripping value for A/C above 53oC is guaranteed (maximum value 54 oC).

1- REGENERATIVE BRAKING

MAINLY ELECTRICAL BRAKING (complemented by mechanical braking at low speeds)

Braking energy is regenerated to the line ( voltage 1500 Vd or 750 Vdc)
