Our rigs have always been tied in the UK, but now they are tied in-house by Nick Barsby (look for his initials on the back of the pack), part of the in-house team working on production and packing of the entire range - hooks, components and rigs. This gives us greater control over the quality and ability to adapt to the market demands rapidly.

During the recent modernisation of the brand it felt like a great opportunity to re-visit the design and materials used in our classic rigs to make them more appropriate using modern materials and up-to-date methods, giving all anglers the greatest chance to catch fish in any area they choose to fish. The result was to improve the quality of the components in assembly - so we

are sourcing some of the best components available in the market today, which is why we have also made a range of components available to our customers in retail packing. For example the swivels we use are 100% stainless steel and up to 3X stronger than traditional brass swivels, this has allowed us to streamline our rigs enabling longer casting distances and a neater overall finish.

To match the quality of our new components we have sourced the finest quality line to tie them with. This Japanese monofilament provides a high breaking strain whilst maintaining a finer diameter than most lines available on store shelves.

All rigs are tied with our unique selection of Cox & Rawle hooks so you can be sure that every rig is of the highest quality from top to bottom and can be relied on to catch fish!.

SRigs are a subjective business when it comes to quality, set-up preferences and price. There are many brands on the market, many selling for less than the price of a cup of tea so we found ourselves asking how to proceed. On the basis that “you get exactly what you pay for” we decided to keep it simple and offer premium rigs that fishermen would come back and buy again and again. The result is modern classics produced from top quality materials and components, hand-tied in England on Premium line with all stainless swivels, Cox & Rawle Hooks and premium clips and beads combined to make the best of British rigs!

Pro-rig Bait CliPsThis bait clip can be locked in place above or below the hook snood to allow you to clip your bait up or down, to aid long distance casting.

BeaCh BeadsA swivel stop that needs no stop knots to lock it to the line, just a spot of glue and the job is done. Place a swivel on the line between two halves of the bead and then push them together, trapping the swivel in place then glue the lower bead to the line.

Pro-rig Bodies and Booms 5”5” Pro-Rig Booms with Bodies, designed to keep tangles to a minimum. Keep your hook lengths short, 10cm to 15cm is fine. When using 2 or 3 booms, paternoster style, make sure they are set far enough apart so the hook lengths cannot meet, this will ensure tangle free fishing.

Bait stoPsUse upline of the hook when baits are clipped up for longer casting. The bait stop prevents the bait from sliding up the line and away from the hook. Attach with glue or a stop knot.

sliderA small, tough and low resistance slider. The large bore offers less line resistance giving good bite detection when used as a conventional slider for boat or beach fishing. A locking mechanism enables the angler to fix the slider and set the trace length.

Pro-rig BodiesThe Pro-Rig body is a self-locking device that will work on lines between 40lb and 80lb B/S. Push the two halves together on the line to fix them in place. Add a touch of glue to set the body in a permanent position.

Saltwater terminal tackle specialist Cox & Rawle has re-launched the brand in Ireland through wholesaler Shamrock Fishing Tackle and the

sponsorship of Osprey 2, a thirty-three foot PROFisherman 33 skippered by Cork-based international master angler Pat Condon.

Having Pat Condon in the Cox & Rawle ProTeam adds a wealth of experience and product development possibilities and will accelerate the introduction of deep water products targeted at Shark and Tuna fishing.

“I have used Cox & Rawle Hooks for many years now, so see them as a trusted and reliable part of our fishing trips. It is good for us to be able to develop some really top drawer shark rigs ready for the new season” stated Condon from the deck

of Osprey 2.The timing coincides with the relaunch

of Cox & Rawle’s premium rig range and marks the start of a new era at the company.

“Most mass produced rigs retail for less than the price of a cup of tea, so I’m really not sure what fishermen expect to get when they open the packet” said Mark

Hamnett, Cox & Rawle’s new owner “we are producing rigs in England from top quality materials and components on our signature hooks and marketing them at competitive prices.”

Most of the component parts of the new rig range are manufactured in England on Cox & Rawle’s own unique tools and dies and are tied in their facilities in Wincanton, Somerset. Other components and clips are subcontracted out to other UK sources so that we can keep the local content high and maintain the high levels of quality that both fisherman and C&R have come to expect.

In the UK and Ireland, Cox & Rawle products are available through appointed wholesalers, Shamrock Fishing Tackle, Kiddy, W B Clarke, Pisces and Phoenix.
