Report from Akurugus in Vea
David and Ursula Akurugu rescue a 1-1/2 year old boy, named Jeremiah, whose moth-er passed on leaving him with his teenage father and a four year old sister. Jeremiah was malnourished and would have died within a week if we had not helped. At the time we went for him he weighed 4kg (8.8lbs) but after 6 weeks, he now weighs 12kg (26.4lbs) thanks to God Almighty.
Through the assistance of some missionaries
friends of ours (Ellen & Dave Bartlett), the
Methodist Development and Relief Service provided a bore hole at the site which is
now the source of clean drinking water for the community. This borehole will open up
the community to be evangelized. During the dedication ceremony, that I officiated, a
young man gave his life to Christ. The church is slowly coming together. However, it is
still in the early stages and needs much prayer and dedication of effort. One of the
Bolga Needs
The mission needs at least 2 canopies and 50 plastic chairs to start church ser-vice at our new site. We will also need a small gen-erator for our evening ac-tivities since there is no power source there now.
Two Double Canopies 24 x 12 – $1500.00 each
Plastic Chairs - $13 each

Swimming Lessons
One of the children’s great joys this year has been learning to swim. Beacon House was blessed with two volunteer college students that were both swimming teachers and certified lifeguards. The Yundt family donated the funds to pay for the pool fees (Thank you!). The pool, located at a nearby hotel, is about a 10 minute walk from Beacon House. The pool sure beats a parasite and crocodile infested pond!
Looking at the joy on Max’s face says it all!
Beacon House Teens
The Beacon House teen girls help to organize and run a rummage sale of donated items to help supplement school fees. Big thank you to those in Ghana that donated for the rummage sale. They raise almost 700 cedi.
Spiderman “I’m Spiderman, catch me if you can!” Building posi-tive experiences and new memories through play helps to rebuild the damaged spirit of abandoned or abused children. Many of our children find it very difficult to use their imagination due to the trauma they have suffered. Moving from survival mode to play mode is critical for them to envision a loving God that truly cares for their well being.
For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.

things we need is a canopy to shield us from the
intense sun and the heavy rains. Two 12’x 24’
canopies with steel frames cost roughly $1,500.00
and can only be purchased in Accra. The plastic
chairs can be purchased in Bolga and are $13
each. We need 50 of them. The canopies will be
placed on the mission property and serve as our
meeting place.
We beseech you to consider making this need a
Vacation Bible School project for your church. If
you need any pictures PC can send them to you
via email.

Jesus is Alive
Easter was a special time at the Beacon House Children’s
home. After pray and praise thanking for God, the chil-
dren enjoyed a celebration! Romans 6:8-11 Now if we
died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with
him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the
dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery
over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all;
but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way,
count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ
Jesus. (NIV)
Turning point in this little
girl’s life! She has been
through so much in life al-
ready. Seeing her coming to
know Jesus, to trust and talk
with him as her friend is why
we all do what we do. Jesus,
the great healer, is repairing
and healing more than her
body, Jesus is healing her bro-
ken heart and damaged soul.
Psalm 147:3 He heals the bro-
kenhearted and binds up their
wounds.
Job 12:7-10 reminds us that each individual takes a part of God’s Creation from His hand when we use it. PC had the oppor-tunity to speak on the sub-ject of “Going Green” at a local school, American Liberty School, where he reminded the parents and students that as Christians
we must “Be Green” because we are commanded to be stewards of God’s Crea-tion and to take care of the land in which he dwells. “You shall not defile the land in which you live, in the midst of which I dwell…”(Num 35:34). PC said in the speech, “I am amazed at the number of Christians who exude apathy over envi-ronmental issues and yet express deep concern about stewardship of one’s fi-nancial resources. Creation is the resource our heavenly Father gave us to man-age and use for our benefit, including financial. Yet, when asked to be mindful of
their wasteful habits related to Creation some Christians act as if they have been insult-ed. Or worse, some from of heresy has just been uttered.”

FENCING OF WALL
Real Life Mission team fenced the 0.83 Acre of land bought by Beacon House USA, in July 2013. Even though the wall has not been fully completed the stage it has gotten to have given total protection for the land from encroachers. We wish to thank our partners both local and foreign for the wonderful partnership we had for the year. We pray the bond of relationship will continue in the years to come.
