The organization is the largest independent Fire District in the State of Florida, providing emergency response and life safety services to the Chokoloskee, Everglades City, Golden Gate, East Naples, Isles of Capri, Port of the Islands, and surrounding communities. The Fire District is governed by a Board of five elected Fire Commissioners, and proudly staffs 225 uniform firefighters and civilian support staff. The Fire District deploys emergency apparatus from 15 fire-rescue stations. In addition, the Fire District manages a variety of support operations from six additional facilities including Administration, Fire & Life Safety, Training and Special Operations, Logistics, and Fleet Maintenance.

Our fire service professionals provide services to more than 160,000 residents living and working within the District’s 1,512 square miles. In 2019, our fire service professionals responded to 22,627 emergency incidents and conducted 11,551 life safety inspections within the Greater Naples Fire Rescue District and Collier County at-large.

FINANCE MANAGER

The Finance Manager has the responsibility of ensuring the District’s financial operations

are processed and reported accurately and with integrity. This will include but not be

limited to responsibility for the oversight, management, and leadership in the areas of

finance, grants, internal controls, and auditing for the District. This is a full-time 40-hour

position, which may occasionally require extended hours to meet the needs of the District.

Job Summary

Compensation and Benefits Salary Range $65,000- 75,000 dependent on qualifications, attractive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, paid vacation and personal days, and inclusion in the Florida Retirement System.

FINANCE MANAGER

Requirements High School Graduate or equivalent. Associates Degree in a related field of study is highly desirable

Previous experience with all aspects of budgeting, payroll, purchasing, accounts receivable/payable,

grants management and audit compliance

Advanced level computer experience, i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook including ability to navigate the internet

and other web based communication mediums

Experience in general budget and accounting software platforms, SAGE-Mas90 system software;

preferred. Proficiency will be required within 3 months from date of hire

Ability to review, classify, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data

Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals

and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; and the ability to interpret graphs

Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License of a class which allows for the operation of Fire District

staff vehicles

Signed and Submitted Tobacco Free affidavit

Shall demonstrate a record of continued training to maintain and advance knowledge in all areas of his/

her job by attendance at recognized seminars, conferences and training programs

The position is full-time- must be able to work Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm Physical requirements

include being able to regularly exert up to 10 lbs. of force while bending, lifting and standing
