Not responsible for fires, flooding, electrocutions, shootings or divorces.

This is a bathroom outlet.

Some people believe in those

Ground Fault Circuit

Interrupters.

But they just take up a lot of space

and cost too much!

Page 3: Zzz Home Projects

That’s an automotive radiator and hose attached to the floor joists with hot water piped to it.

Page 4: Zzz Home Projects

A radiator hose from a 1945 Pontiac can be used to replace piping leading into the main

drain stack.

Page 5: Zzz Home Projects

Here's another brilliant idea: Keep the supply & return registers close together so the air can flow freely back to the furnace.

The house seems a little chilly and the furnace keeps running. This needs more study.

Page 6: Zzz Home Projects

Another good idea: It saves cutting a hole in the roof.

The inspector said something about putting up some flashing.

Flashing—who needs flashing?!?

Page 8: Zzz Home Projects

Here you have your basic downspout planter, with an attractive—and healthy—sword fern contrasting nicely with the red window trim.

You, too, can have one of these beautiful planters.

Self watering and the lady of the house will love it.

CPVC pipe touching the flue pipe? The fix?

Slip some cardboard between the warm flue pipe and melt-able plastic!

Page 10: Zzz Home Projects

Like lots of light when taking a shower? Add an ‘open’ light fixture on the ceiling.

It’s also handy to have the light switch close by.

Page 11: Zzz Home Projects

FOILED!

Cheaper than buying another section.

This section of water heater flue pipe is made entirely out of aluminum foil.

Page 12: Zzz Home Projects

Rain gutter capped on both ends?

Shouldn’t you have at least one downspout??

Page 13: Zzz Home Projects

It’s a good idea to connect all drain pipes before using the bathtub..

Page 14: Zzz Home Projects

Recycle:Inexpensive plug for the cleanout.

Page 15: Zzz Home Projects

Homemade Humidifier: Why mess with all that high-tech gadgetry in a humidifier? A Cool Whip container filled with water will do the same thing.

Page 16: Zzz Home Projects

Smell a Rat?

It’s a good idea to cover all unused

knock-outs.

Page 17: Zzz Home Projects

If your plumbing job looks like this, you might want to draw a map.

Page 18: Zzz Home Projects

This might not be the best way to shim between the support post and the beam.

.

If you have a broken framing member in your attic, use the all-purpose structural repair kit —

duct tape!

Page 20: Zzz Home Projects

Water Heater Installation: It is not recommended to install water heaters on their side.

Use a TPR valve. Not a large pressure gauge.

Page 21: Zzz Home Projects

.If you’re not going to build your chimney above your roof line, be sure to fireproof the siding with

a metallic paint.

Page 22: Zzz Home Projects

Clever idea for recycling that old jockstrap.

Page 23: Zzz Home Projects

Another excellent example of recycling. Flex duct support in the crawlspace..

Dryer Wire:

Here is the latest in electrical wiring

techniques for dryer hookups.

No box required.

We recommend a piece of duct tape

over the connections.

The people at Rubbermaid will be proud of a new-found use for their garbage can lid.
