Dual Tone Multiple Frequency (DTMF) is a signaling system for identifying the keys or better saysthe number dialed on a pushbutton or DTMF keypad. DTMF has enabled the long distancesignaling of dialed numbers in voice frequency range over telephone lines. We use a DTMF decodernamely MT/MT/HT-8870/9170 to decode the signals received by the DTMF decoderWhich provides us the binary equivalent of the tone received ex: for 3 it would be 0011, which can befed to the digital controller to perform the operations needed.

A touch screen is an electronic visual display that can detect the presence and location of a touch within thedisplay area. The term generally refers to touching the display of the device with a finger or hand. Touchscreens can also sense other passive objects, such as a stylus. Touch screens are common in devices such asgame consoles, all-in-one computers, tablet computers, and smart phones. Such displays can be attached tocomputers, or to networks as terminals. They also play a prominent role in the design of digital appliancessuch as the personal digital assistant (PDA), satellite navigation devices, mobile phones, and video games. Inour project we are interfacing serial protocol based touch screen with the micro controller and performvarious operations.

THERMAL PRINTER BASED PROJECTS
Thermal printing (or direct thermal printing) is a digital printing process which produces a printedimage by selectively heating coated thermo chromic paper, or thermal paper as it is commonlyknown, when the paper passes over the thermal print head. We can see this technology in real timeembedded products like e-billing, ticket vending machines, ECG printing, electricity bills, e- challansand few other GPRS server based products etc.,. Thermal printer operates on some set of commands.By using this, any type of text data we feed can be printed on to a special paper. These printers arevery portable but complicated in design.
