WG-TDI Terms of Reference(a) To provide overall technical guidance, assistance and

support for the implementation of the WIGOS and WIS concepts in Regional Association VI;

(b) To contribute to the development and implementation of WIGOS in the Region;(c) To coordinate the redesign of RBSN/RBCN as a WIGOS

Demonstration Project;(d) To coordinate WIGOS implementation in the Region taking

into account the planning and implementation of the WMO Information System (WIS);

(e) To coordinate the implementation of WIS including further improvement of the RMDCN;(f) To monitor availability of data, identify deficiencies and propose measures for their resolution;

WG-TDI Terms of Reference(g) To monitor developments in data processing and forecasting systems, make recommendations to strengthen collaboration, represent the Region in the CBS Inter-Commission Team on Global Data-Processing and Forecasting System (ICT-GDPFS);(h) To promote greater access to and exploitation of ensemble

prediction products, nowcasting techniques and long-range forecasting;

(i) To keep under review regional practices and guidelines relevant to observing networks and instrument and method of observation, and to foster efficient collaborative network of Regional Instrument Centres in RA VI;(j) To serve as a focal point for WWRP-Thorpex activities in

the Region.(k) To liaise with WG/CH and WG/SDP on matters related to

technology development and implementation.

TT WIS /DI - Terms of Reference

1. Review the recommendations and proposals developed by CBS-ICT-ISS relevant to WIS development and implementation and by ICG-WIS, and develop an implementation plan for RA-VI,

2. Assess the implementation aspects for Region VI,

3. Coordinate pilot project installations of GISC and DCPC centres in RA-VI and monitor the VGISC development,

4. Assist Region VI centres in joining the WIS,

5. Liaise with the relevant CBS-OPAG-ISS Expert Teams,

6. Identify implementation issues requiring the consideration of the OPAG-ISS-ETs,

7. Monitor the progress of IGDDS development and implementation,

8. Monitor the implementation of the INSPIRE directive, and guarantee compliance with WIS data model defined by IPET-MDI.
