HAZARDS WITHIN THE WOODLAND• A hazard within the woodlands is that due to it is a public

place there could be people around the area who are willing to steal the equipment I will be using. The severity of injury would be a 3 or a 4 unless it was an armed robbery, which could be marked as a 5. I will reduce the risk before the day by making sure an adult available to come with me to take my photography and also by only taking my camera and not any other valuables, which could draw their attention. The control measures on the day will include making sure that each member of the cast and crew know the safety instructions for around the woodland. Furthermore, I will make the decision to go in the daytime therefore, it is less likely for people to be around thieving when they are in clear daylight and can be seen. Furthermore, I will make sure the weather is appropriate for the photographs, so if the weather is wet that day I will postpone the photographs until a dry, clear day.

• Another hazard within the woodland is due to there being trees and bushes around the location is it not safe and clear for people to walk without caution, there could be bulging tree roots coming from the ground which, if not looking, somebody could fall over and hit their head. The severity of this injury would be a 1 or a 2 due to the individual could just fall and bruise themselves, however, it could become more serious and they fall and hit their head hard of a tree trunk for example. Before the day I will insure that an adult is available to be there for health and safety purposes and making sure I know where I will be setting everything up the following day that I will need for my photography. The control measures on the day will involve strict instructions and a safety talk to insure that each member of the cast and crew are aware of the dangers within the woodland and to make sure they are alert with where they are stepping to avoid falling over.

• The equipment getting damaged is another hazard within the woodland due to if the weather is wet or has previously been wet it could damage the equipment being used which could cost a lot of money but also will unable me to take my photographs. If after these events occur I attempt to use the equipment it could cause me to have an electric shock or other injuries, the severity of these injuries are a 2 or a 3. Before the day I will make sure that the weather is dry that day and has been the day before so that the woodland has time to dry up before I take my photographs the following day. The control measures on the day will consist of having multiple people for the crew so if I need anything to be held whilst talking to the model they could hold it for a short period of time. Also, I will make sure that the equipment is safe beforehand so there is not any chance of it breaking because it was not safe beforehand.

• Furthermore, if I place the equipment like the light or the camera onto the floor whilst talking to the cast or crew a passer-by may stand on the equipment causing it to break, this is another hazard within the woodland. Also, placing the equipment on the floor could cause a cast or crew members to fall over the equipment and cause injury to themselves. The severity of this injury would be a 1 or a due to if one of the members fell they could just cause their skin to bruise, it could become more serious if they fall and hit their head of something hard such as a tree trunk or a fence or gate nearby. Before the day, I will give the cast and crew a safety briefing of being aware of where they stand and to make sure no equipment is lying around for them to break it or for them to fall and injure themselves. The control measures on the day will include strict instructions for the cast and crew and making sure when they are not busy for them to be helping out where they can instead of getting distracted which could cause them to fall or stand on equipment if not paying attention to what they are doing and where they are walking.
