What did the Nazis want from German Women?

• To mould Aryan women into their ideal

mothers

• To have large families

• To not work

• To look like this

• To cook in a particual way

• To behave in a particular way

• To Bring up their children as loyal Nazis

In Urban Attitudes:

Under the Weimar Republic: • Women had the right to vote

• There was equality of sexes under civic matters

• No descrimination against women bureaucrats

• Maternity rights

But women’s main role wasn’t as different as the Nazis wanted it:

• They remained under-represented

• Motherhood was still women’s most

important function

• Working women were paid 10% to 20% less than working men.

• Under the Nazis Regime:

• The Nazis party was clear about their desire

of excluding women from all political life of Germany

• In 1935 Hilter declared Women's rights, during a speech to the National-Socialist Women'sCongress

• School programs for girls were changed

• Women's associations with comunist and socialist groups were banned

• In 1936 women were banned from high-level positions in the

judicial system

• Women were all fired in the medical field

• In 1937 women were allowed to be mothers and be employed

at the same time
