  • The chorus website, www.nwhschorus.weebly.com will be very important to you and your parents and will be used frequently.www.nwhschorus.weebly.com WATER and water only is acceptable and encouraged during class. Marking your music with a PENCIL is encouraged. You would be amazed at how much this can help you! Please keep noise DOWN when you arent singing and UP when you are. It is ok to make a mistake when learning something; do not sing softly because youre scared (although thats what we all want to do). Allowing me to hear the mistake enables me to correct it faster. Dont point people out if they dont catch on as quickly as you do- just wait, Im sure your time will come. Some things you should know and remember

  • Concerts are NOT optional! We rehearse with everyone present and adjust to the balance; if you are not at the concert then our balance is incorrect and the performance is not as good as it can be. MAKE ARRANGEMENTS AHEAD OF TIME! Class is important and so are you, so you need to be not just physically present, but mentally present as well. If you are having a difficult time and need help with something, PLEASE let me know! If it is not solved in class, I will happy to help you after school, breaks, or lunch (if your schedule allows). Know and remember (cont)

  • It may not be all about the cha-ching, cha-ching but it sure does take a lot of that to make a chorus program run! I get it, no one LOVES fund raisers, but they are an evil necessity. When the chorus program does do a fundraiser, PLEASE honestly try your best. The money raised goes to things such as buses, bus drivers, tax and shipping, the folders that you use, sheet music, sheet music, annnnnnnd, SHEET MUSIC! Im open to fund-raising ideas that you may have and think will go over well! We dont need ya money, money, money Wait, yes we do!

  • This class is what you make of it. If you come in with a bad attitude, you wont enjoy the class NEARLY as much as you could. More often than not, this can be a class that puts you in a better mood and one that you look forward to. Things that prohibit the above: Bringing in your drama via text messages, FB, Twitter, or SnapChat during class- Just say NO to your phone unless I ask you to use it. Not trying your best all the time (cheesy, yet true) Not having an open mind Being scared- getting out of your comfort zone CAN BE FUN! Having a big ego- its about being part of a group Make the most of it!
