The Watertown Military orchestra furnished the music throughout the evening, with an excellent selection of pieces. Decorations were in keeping with the date and season. The dance committee of the Elks has this year inaugurated a new program system which obliges the gentlemen to keep their ladies' and their own programs. By this method hubby is prevented from abandoning the dance hall along about the fifth dance for a game of billiards downstairs, and although the idea is being variously and sundryly roasted by a few unfortunate hubbies, the chairman of the committee, Walter Stover, has the unanimous approval of the ladies, and intends to courageously maintain the system. A group of pupils from the class of Mrs. Williard MacIntosh gave a recital at her studio home Friday morning at ten o'clock. A thoroughly enjoyable feature was the violin solo by Miss Knight with her brother, Dwayn, at the piano. Participants were Corinne Albrook, Robert Albrook, Audrey Ching, Jeannette Davey, Margaret Egert, Shirley De Geest, Peggy De Geest, Jacqueline Flug, Colleen Flug, Elise Halvorson, Lucille Johnson, Audrey Johnson, Dwayn Knight, Joan Mielke, Marion Nichols, Barbara Sheafe, Caroll Robinson, Helene Robinson, Genevieve Roth, Alta Wendt, Beverly Way, Mary Wohlheter, and Dona Mae Shultz. Piano duets were delightfully presented by Carol Robinson and Dwayn Knight, Peggy De Geest and Shirley De Geest, Elise Halvorson and Margaret Egert, Marion Nichols and Joan Mielke.
