Laos: In one of the poorest areas of the world, children are vulnerable to pedophiles and interna- tional human trafficking. Education is a crucial part of keeping children off the streets. Myanmar: Hill tribe children need funds to attend schools which are often far from their village. Panama: Children of Changuinola on the banana plantations are bullied, live in poverty and struggle to keep up with their peers. They need extra help with their studies. MexicoEducational funding is a lifeline for the ministry of Baptist grade school “Didaqué” in Tijuana, Mexico. The school reaches out to children living in dire poverty who have a wide range of disabilities and who cannot attend school anywhere else.

Receiving an education in Laos kept this boy off the streets and in school.

International Ministries began its pioneer mission work in Burma in 1814 and today works in more than 70 countries serving over 1,800 long-term and short-term missionaries. Educational Projects and Programs

Page 2: Why Are Educational Programs So Important · Why Are Educational Programs So Important Bulgaria: Many Roma children face discrimination, live in poverty and do not attend school.

Educational funds help with expenses such as: books, tuition, recreational and sports equipment, transportation, uniforms, lunches and snacks, stipend, as well as classroom supplies. Funds for Educational Projects and Programs ensure that all children regardless of their country, means or background, receive an education to equip them to achieve their potential and maximize their contributions to their communities. Through Educational Projects and Programs, International Ministries provides children with the opportunity to know the love of Christ and trains them to be future national Christian leaders.

Any church, individual, or group may contribute to this project as they wish. Small gifts are always welcome as two or three such gifts together may be enough to support a student or classroom.

Future educational programs will also provide vocational and non-traditional opportunities as well as academic programs.

Contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

ThailandJarasi has graduated from high school and plans to get a post high school degree in accounting! She is from an Akha village in northern Thailand close to the Myanmar border.

At the age of 10, she had little hope of receiving any education past 6th grade. With the help of Educational funds and the loving concern of her sponsor from Ohio, Jarasi attended Sahsartsuksa School, a Baptist school begun 50 years ago to provide for the educational needs of hill tribe children.

There are many children today who desire the same opportunity Jarasi has had, giving them the hope of a brighter future.

Would you consider helping others to receive the same hope for their future?

American Baptist Foreign Mission Society (dba International Ministries) is a designated 501(c) (3) institution by the Internal Revenue Service. Gifts are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Our board-approved policy is that all gifts designated for a specific project be applied to that project, with up to ten percent included for project oversight, evaluation, and reporting. Occasionally we receive more contributions for a given project than can be wisely applied to that project. When that happens, these additional funds are used to meet similar pressing need.
