This device also features a unique, customizable blood pressure averaging program that can take numerous readings in succession, and then averages them for a more complete and accurate result. In a clinical study Welch Allyn found patients were 30% more likely to be misclassified as hypertensive or pre-hypertensive using the single reading method if their systolic blood pressures fell between 116 and 145 than when using blood pressure averaging.* With blood pressure averaging a clinician can achieve a more accurate blood pressure reading in order to provide the best treatment and care for their patients.
