Five Steps To Shaving Off The Bits:

• Optimize your images first!

• When pasting, paste special

• Compress pictures button

• Use the slide master

• Turn off Fast Saves

Optimize your images first

• Resize images to 800x600 pixels

• Save images as JPG files

• Use: Insert > Picture > From File

• DO NOT paste from other files

When pasting, paste special

• Copy in image to your clip board

• Click: Edit > Paste Special…

• Choose “Paste as Picture(JPG)”

Use the Compress Pictures button

• Enable the Picture Toolbar

• Click on image

• Click the “Compress Pictures” button

• Save your File

Use the slide master

• Click: View > Master > Slide Master

• Insert your optimized image

• Click Close

Turn Off Fast Saves

• Click: Tools > Options

• Click: Save Tab

• Clear the “Allow Fast Saves” check box

• Save your file
