HENNA NIGHT• It is celebrated one night before the wedding

day.• Especially all the female relatives attend that

celebration. In some parts of the country it is celebrated without the groom but in some regions, he attends the Henna Night.

• Generally it is celebrated in the bride’s mother’s house.

The Bride wears a special dress named ‘Bindallı’

After some dancing and having fun, a single girl from the family prepares the

henna tray for the bride.

Candles are put on the henna tray

• And all the single girls in the family have small henna cups with candles in both their hands.

• After the bride has a red scarf on her head, she starts to walk and dance with a special music named ‘yüksek yüksek tepelere ev kurmasınlar’ and all the girls follow her.

After a few circles

• The bride gives the tray to one of the girls behind her and sits near the groom.

• The groom has a green scarf on his shoulders.• And the girls continues slowly walking and

dancing around them. (To make the bride cry with the music)

• Generally brides do not cry but the mothers of the couple cries

After the dance finishes and the bride cries,

• One of the oldest female in the family comes to the couple and starts putting henna on their hands BUT the bride does NOT open her hands without having a golden coin from the mother of the groom.

After henna ceremony,

• A girl brings a tray upon the brides head. And they break a special sugar cone on that tray. Then give small pieces of sugar to the couple to eat. That is to make the newly couple’s marriage as sweet as sugar

After all these ceremony

• Newly couple dance but this time not for crying just for having fun.

• And small henna bags are delivered to the guests.

• Then all the guests eat dried fruits & nuts with drinks.

• The night ends with good wishes for the couple.
