Physical and medical insurance. Students must meet the VHSL and

a sport?

a sport? A physical is required annually after

May 1st of each school calendar year.

The VHSL requires that each student participating in athletics have a completed physical exam given by a physician, nurse practitioner, doctor of osteopathy, and/or a physician’s assistant.

Are there late buses for athletes?Are there late buses for athletes? Late Buses M-Th 4:45 and 6:45 Transportation will be provided to

most athletic events. After away games, athletes must ride

the bus back to school or ride with parents.

After home games, parents are responsible for picking up their children: there are no buses later than 6:45.

Can athletes get injured?

Can athletes get injured? While each coach and our athletic

trainer emphasize safety during practices and events, there is a risk of injury associated with sports.

All athletes returning from an injury will be required to have written permission from a doctor.

The state of Virginia has passed a new law on concussions in student-athletes.

Ms. Kigin works closely with doctors, parents, coaches, athletes and administrators to ensure the student-athlete is safe to return to school and sport participation following a head injury.

Do students practice everyday?

Students are expected to attend all practices.

Practices begin during the time frame of 3:30 – 7:30 pm.

Practice can last 2 hours. Practices are held Mon – Fr., Saturdays

NEVER on Sunday! Summer, holiday and weekend practice

times may vary Parents should pick kids up no later than

30 minutes after practices have ended.

Students are expected to attend all practices.
