Membership

Leda Rabenold has been working on a new website for the VAA so that it is ready for our use in January

2018. Iris Kaplan is busy working on publicity and will be sending out our announcements in 2018. We

now need a special member to become the editor of the VAA newsletter. Then we will be able to thank

Sara Castelli for her more than ten years of dedication to our VAA.

This is to remind everyone that Artists 'Round the Square is coming up on Sunday, December 10th at

Spanish Springs. We are all set to go as some of our members have volunteered to hand out ballots and

visit with those attending the show encouraging them to vote on their favorite art.

Our Christmas celebration is Friday, December 15th so please bring an appetizer or finger food to share at

12:30 p.m. In January 2018 we will start our meetings earlier with the Board meeting at 9:00 a.m. and the

General Membership Meeting at 10:30 a.m.

Time for me to Thank All of You who have volunteered to make the Visual Art Association such a great

art league this year.

Nan

Scholarship News December 2017

The New Year is fast approaching and scholarship mailings with applications will go out to all high

schools in our Tri County area in January. Please let us know if you are aware of any local students who

are 12th graders, terrific young artists and may be considering art as a college major. Check out our

web site (Scholarship Section) as 2018 updates will be added shortly

VAA Scholarship continues to recommend & promote the KC and Encore Productions at the Savannah Center (see insert). Dec. will

feature a special holiday evening “Carols By Candlelight ” Dec 14th- 16th. It has great solos and memorable Christmas arrange-

ments in a Broadway quality production! Enjoy a terrific night out….or make it a present for visiting guests.

As the VAA Scholarship Program begins its 15th year we hope to make this one of our best. During Dec. we are encouraging VAA

members and Villages friends who are looking for year - end deductions to consider our project. We have helped 54 young artists

attend college, receive extra funding and get internships. Your donation can make a difference.

REMEMBER OUR “GIVING STOCKING “…. At the VAA Holiday Party ….. Share the Gift of Art & Education!

Envelopes will be available, and we recognize and thank all those who support us as benefactors.

We continue to look for Scholarship Volunteers & Elves.

Learn more, and consider helping us with our refreshments, displays and raffle table at the Feb. VAA

ART SHOW. Check us out on the VAA website and visit our table at the VAA Meetings. There are many

ways to participate.

Please call the number below if you have questions, ideas…..or can help.

HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON !
