The Bike• We chose a bike because it doesn’t use fossil fuels

• It will be easy to transport the newspaper because of the box

• Bikes are smaller and easier to store

• Using a bicycle to commute four days a week for four miles saves 54 gallons of gas annually.

• The energy and resources needed to build one medium-sized car could produce 100 bicycles.

• Buying bikes to transport instead

of cars will save thousands of dollars

2009 Smart Fortwo

• The smart fortwo is about half the length of the average vehicle in the U.S., saving about 8 feet in length.

• The smart fortwo is the most fuel efficient non-hybrid vehicle in the U.S. and the 3rd most fuel-efficient vehicle in the U.S.

• 2009 EPA estimated MPG rating of 33 city / 41 highway

• If every vehicle sold in the US was a smart, this would free up 24,242 miles of roadway

• the smart fortwo is up to 95% recyclable

• is certified as a SmartWay vehicle for its low air pollutant and greenhouse gas scores by the Environmental Protection Agency

• Does not use any climate changing fossil fuels
