IPEVO’s Wi-Fi Network Adapter User Manual allows users to have a better understanding on how to fully utilize their Wi-Fi Network Adapter. The Wi-Fi Network Adapter allows Skype users to place and receive calls wherever a Wi-Fi connection is available. Read this manual thoroughly to maximize your experience and knowledge of the Wi-Fi Network Adapter.

1. Setting Up Your S0-10

1-1 Insert the IPEVO Wi-Fi Network Adapter to the back of the S0-10’s USB port.

1-2 Detecting Wi-Fi:Your S0-10 will automatically detect a Wi-Fi signal in your wireless network range. If the Wi-Fi signal has been protected by a network key, enable the wireless function by choosing the following selections below: “Menu” “Settings” “Networks” “Wireless Network” “Enable wireless network”

1-3 Manually Connecting the Wi-Fi Network Adapter:If the Wi-Fi signal in your network range has been protected by a network key, select “Cancel” and allow the Wi-Fi Network Adapter to detect an unprotected network key. If you fail to access an unprotected network key, go to Section 2 to begin manually connecting your Wi-Fi Network Adapter.

1.4 Updating Your Network Settings:If the “Wireless network” is not available on the S0-10, update the firmware by referring to “Updating your S0-10’s firmware.”

A. Once the Wi-Fi Network Adapter has detected a wireless connection is detected in your wireless range, begin logging onto Skype.

2. Manually Connecting Your Wi-Fi Network Adapter

Select the following steps to begin accessing Wi-Fi connection:“Menu” “Settings” “Network” “Wireless network” “Settings” “Networks in range”

2-1 Wi-Fi Accessibility:The Wi-Fi Network Adapter will search for any available wireless network signal within your network range. Once the Wi-Fi Network Adapter detects a signal, a list of names will appear in your network.

2-2 Detecting Wi-Fi:Scroll “Up” or “Down” to select the available network you would like to access. Once, you’ve selected the network you would like to access, select “Connect.”

2-3 Requiring a Product Key:A locked icon will appear on the right portion of the display screen if the Wi-Fi network you selected requires a product key. Select the icon and click the network with the strongest connection by selecting “connect.” Input the “product key” to access Wi-Fi connection. When inputting numbers or letters, select the *key on the keypad. Once a product key has been entered, the S0-10 will connect to the network you’ve selected.

Note: For a higher Wi-Fi connection, select the highest strength of signal in the network available.

2-4 Connecting to a Service Set Identifier (SSID) Wi-Fi Network:If the Wi-Fi signal is coming from a wireless router with a built in Service Set Identifier (SSID), a Wi-Fi signal will not be shown on the “Networks in range.” In order to connect to an SSID network, follow the four steps below:

Step 1

Click the following options to manually add an SSID network: “Menu” “Settings” “Network” “Wireless network” “Settings” “Networks in range” “Options” “Add network manually”

Step 2

Enter “SSID” network name or ID

Step 3

After inputting the SSID network name or ID, select the following options: “Network Security”, press “Select” choose the type of network: “Open”, “WEP”, “WPA”, “WPA2 Personal”, and type in the password in the “Network key.”

Step 4

Select the “Back” option to join a preferred network

3. Advance Setting

3-1 Setting current network to a “Preferred Network”For a faster Wi-Fi connection, set your network to “Preferred Network.” Once a “Preferred Network“has been established with a “password protected network,” the password will store, allowing users to automatically log on without entering a password each time. Select the following options to store your “Preferred Network” “Menu” “Settings” “Network” “Wireless network” “Settings” “Preferred networks.”

Note: Add your current network to “Preferred Network,” this option allows you to automatically log in.

3-2 Network LoginOnce users have successfully logged into the network with a password, the S0-10 will automatically store the password.

3-3 Preferred Network SelectionThe network used the most will be shown at the top of the list. You may navigate your “Preferred Network” by scrolling up or down to change networks used most or less.

3-4 Connect to an open networkConnect to any open networks available by selecting “Auto-connect.” By selecting “Connect to an open network”, the Wi-Fi Network Adapter will detect an available signal. If you have a “Preferred network”, the S0-10 will connect to the network in your “Preferred networks.” To connect to an available network, select the following steps:Go to “Menu” “Settings” “Networks” “Wireless networks” “Settings” “Auto-connect” “Yes”

3-5 Review Network status To view your network status, select the following steps below:“Menu” “Settings” “Networks” “Current status”

4. Updating your S0-10’s firmware

To update your S0-10’s firmware, select the following options: Go to “Menu” “Settings” “Network.”If the Wi-Fi Network Adapter doesn’t detect a Wi-Fi, the S0-10 is not supporting the wireless firmware yet. In the meantime, follow the seven steps below to update the S0-10’s firmware.

Step 1

Insert the CD provided with the user manual.

Step 2

Select all the files located in the CD and copy the files to a USB flash drive root directory.Note, a USB flash drive does not come included with the Wi-Fi Network Adapter, CD or user manual.

Step 3

Insert the USB to the back of the S0-10, where a USB port is located.

Step 4

To update the S0-10, select the following options: Go to “Menu” “Settings” “General” “Software updates” The screen will display and prompt the following question: “A new version of Skype is available, upgrade now?” Click “Yes” to update the S0-10’s firmware.

Step 5

The firmware update will take 5-10 minutes. DO NOT remove the USB flash drive or turn the power off while the S0-10 is updating the firmware. If you’ve interrupted the firmware update, the update will be incomplete and damages to your USB flash drive or S0-10 may take place.

Step 6

After the firmware update is complete, the display screen will confirm the update by stating: “You have successfully updated your firmware; your S0-10 is safe to restart by clicking OK.”

*Note, after the firmware is updated, you’re now able to remove the USB flash drive.

Step 7

Insert the IPEVO Wi-Fi Network Adapter to the back of the S0-10 and refer to Section 2 to begin setting up detecting a Wi-Fi connection.

5. Wi-Fi Network Adapter LED signal and diagram

5-1: Connecting your Wi-Fi Network AdapterPower LED: Once the Wi-Fi Network Adapter is attached to the S0-10, the Green LED will turn on as shown above.

5-2: Connecting to a Wi-Fi network AdapterLINK LED: Once the WIFI Network Adapter has detected a Wi-Fi network, the LED will flash and blink as shown above.

5-3: Diagram displaying Wi-Fi signal and E-Net connectionIf the S0-10 detects a “Wireless network” or “E-Net connection, the screen will display a different diagram indicating the status. See below:

To maximize the connection of your Wi-Fi signal, place the Wi-Fi Network Adapter in an upright position as shown above.

7. FAQs

7-1 Why can’t I connect to a Wi-Fi network?I’m able to connect to a Wi-Fi network, but I can’t log in to Skype. There’s a possibility the Wi-Fi Network Adapter has detected a Wi-Fi signal coming from a Web-Browser type of Security password networks. Please select other available wireless connections in your network range. Note, the Wi-Fi Network Adapter cannot connect to any Web-Browser type of Security password networks.

7.2 Even though I’m in the range of a Wi-Fi network, why can’t I detect a Wi-Fi signal in “Network Range?”Please try the follow solutions:a. Make sure your Wireless router is turned on, and confirm the IPEVO Wi-Fi Network Adapter Green LED

light is on.b. Search and detect a wireless network by following the steps below: “Network Range”� “Options”� “Search”c. Make sure the Wi-Fi Network Adapter is inserted to the back of the S0-10’s USB port.d. If the Wireless network you have selected is an SSID networks then please refer to “Section 2” to connect

your WIFI Network Adapter manually.

7.3 The S0-10 doesn’t display a Wi-Fi network option to choose from, can I still use the Wi-Fi Network Adapter?No, please refer to Section 4 to update your S0-10’s firmware.

Product WarrantyThe Wi-Fi Network Adapter is designed for telephony or VOIP. The Wi-Fi Network Adapter allows S0-10 users to place and receive Skype calls wherever a Wi-Fi connection is available. Any other use of IPEVO’s Wi-Fi Network Adapter is considered unintended use. Unauthorized modifications or reconstruction not described in this manual are not permitted.This limited warranty “hereinafter the Warranty” is valid for the Wi-Fi Network Adapter. The Warranty is valid only in the country in which the product was originally purchased.- The warranty covers manufacturing defects, and only insofar as the product has been used and stored.- The warranty is issued by IPEVO Inc. to the end purchaser of the product (hereinafter the Customer).

In accordance with the Warranty, the customer has sole claim to demand that the product be repaired/ replaced and may not in accordance with the provisions of the Warranty assert further claims against the manufacturer/retailer for indirect loss, including but not limited to loss of data or loss of profit.

- The warranty period runs for 12 months from the day on which the customer originally purchased the product from IPEVO. Subsequent changes of ownership do not extend the warranty period.

- The warranty is valid solely on the condition that the product is shipped to IPEVO within the warranty period. In the event a defect takes place in the product, it must be shipped back to IPEVO. Products are repaired or exchange at IPEVO’s own discretion.

- The warranty period is not extended for a repaired or replaced product. Exchanges of parts are property of IPEVO Inc.

- The warranty is valid solely on the condition that the original proof of purchase issued to the original purchaser is presented with the product.

What is not covered? (Exclusions)The warranty does not apply to any of the following conditions outlined below:Repairs: Replacement or repairs by someone other than IPEVO.General wear and tear: misuse/abuse, physical damage or neglect of product by poor maintenance.External causes: liquids, water perspiration, humidity heat or food.Use of non-IPEVO products: defects or damages resulting from the use of non-IPEVO products, software, accessories or other peripheral equipment not intended for use with the product.Network: Network damages or defects.Upgrades: If the software requires upgrades.
