OBJECTIVE

For remove Barriers to Promoting Sustainable Rural Livelihood, and Provide a Broader range of Livelihood options for the Tribal/Rural poor.

To improve Protection and Management of Forests through greater Community Involvement.

To control Soil-water erosion and lessen the Land degradation on Forest and Non-forest area.

As per Calculation on an average 8 Pakia Bamboos will be available out of 18 No. of Bamboos from a clump.Example:-Total clumps in Churhat range is 69354 X 8 pakia per clump X Rs.12/-per bamboo = Rs.6657984 (Total revenue)20% of total revenue is transferred to society a/c i.e.Rs.1331597/-80% of total revenue will be transferred to group of beneficiary i.e.Rs.5326387/- i.e. the income per beneficiary per year will be Rs.166450.

Bamboo Clumps In treated area have re-established No. of Karla & Mohila Clumps were Increased. After one year these RDBF beneficiaries can earn minimum Rs. 1.5 laks per year from RDBF area.

Biodynamic agriculture is a world wide accepted low cost sustainable farming system. Main focus is to convert all available crop residues to quality compost. 370 Villagers / Farmers are trained for in-farm input production, out of which 19 farmer groups were formed.

71 CPP Culture units and 121 Biodynamic Compost heaps are prepared By 19 Farmer Groups and they are using BD Compost ,CPP Culture, Liquid Manure cum Pest repellent on their Wheat, Gram, Mustard and Lentil crops.

SOLAR EQUIPMENT DISTRIBUTION :120 Solar Lanterns are distributed to UNDP Beneficiaries.

BIO-GAS DEENBANDHU MODAL :10 UNDP Beneficiary's Houses are equipped with Bio Gas Deenbandhu Modal

ECO-CHULHA DISTRIBUTION :800 Eco-Chulha Distribution Process is going on….

70 % People of Nearest Villages of Forest had Depended on Forest’s Firewood to cook and Lighting their house before the UNDP project. But now after distribution of Solar Lanterns, Biogas Systems and Eco chulha, their Dependency on Forest became Lesser.

130 Villagers are Benefited by Distribution of Solar Lanterns and Bio Gas Deenbandhu Modal which are enjoying Smokeless cooking and lighting with good manure.

NATURE & BIODYVERSITY FOREST DENSITY INCREASED :

Forest Density increased from 0.0 – 0.2 to 0.4-0.5 in Treated areas. SOIL & WATER CONSERVATION :

Areas treated under UNDP-GEF Project have shown remarkable increase in Soil and Water Conservation.

Dried Water holes have revived and Water Channels are flowing with Water for longer duration.

Soil Erosion decreased magnificently.POSITIVE EFFECTS ON BIODYVERSITY :

Number of Species have Increased Considerably in Project area, Gradual Increase in Herbs, Shrubs, with Tree Species have attracted the Wild Animals. Increase in Flora and Fauna observed and Noticed by many.

RET Species of Flora & Fauna are giving their presence in Project area like – Vultures and many Floral and Medicinal Species.

ECONOMICAL IMPACT Aajivika Activities in Project area help Poor Families to increase their

Monthly/Annual Income. Economic Capabilities are increased gradually. Beneficiaries are

conducting multifarious activities like Construction of Rooms Purchase of Milking Domestic Animals i.e. Buffalo, Cow, She Goat etc. Or Daughter’s Marriage.

Supply of Vegetable Seeds has increased the Vegetable Production to full fill their Domestic Needs.

IMPACTS ON HEALTH Distribution of Medicinal Plants can helping the Local Vaidhya in

treatment of various local Diseases. Biodynamic farming increasing Crop Production which intern along

with Fish Production increase the Vigour and Health of the People.\

SOCIAL IMPACT Women are Imparting in UNDP activities with the Beneficiaries and

working as a Unit. FPC and VFC Members are paying more attention towards Forest

Protection and Tendency towards Stall Feeding of Cattles has increased considerably.

Villagers of UNDP-GEF Project area are now more capable for earning the sufficient amount because of Capacity Building Programs.

Increasing the tendency for use of Biodynamic Farming. Migration of Villagers has Reduced considerably. Villager’s Dependency on Forest for Fuel has gone down. Linking Bond between Villagers and Forest Officials becoming

Stronger Day by day for the Purpose of Biodiversity Conservation.
