Do you think that the syllabuses and textbooks used in our country adequately reflect our national ideology and the demands of our society?NATIONAL IDEOLOGYNational ideology was proclaimed on 31st of August 1970 with the purpose to serve as a guideline in the countrys nation-building efforts.NATIONAL IDEOLOGY The PledgeOur Nation, Malaysia is dedicated to: Achieving a greater unity for all her people; maintaining a democratic way of life; creating a just society in which the wealth of the nation shall be equitably distributed; ensuring a liberal approach to her rich and diverse cultural tradition, and building a progressive society which shall be oriented to modern science and technology.NATIONAL IDEOLOGY - PrinciplesBelief in GodLoyalty to King and CountryUpholding the ConstitutionSovereignty of the Law, Good Behaviour and MoralityNational Philosophy of EducationEducation in Malaysia is a continuous effort towards enhancing potentials of individuals in a holistic and integrated manner in order to create individuals who are well-equipped intellectually, spiritually and emotionally. This effort aims to produce knowledgeable, ethical and responsible Malaysian citizens who are can contribute towards the harmony and prosperity of the community and nation.

YES AND NO. WHY?Yes. Why?

The formulation of KBSR, KBSM and KSSR curriculum are inspired from National Philosophy of Education.The syllabuses formulated focuses on instilling knowledge across the curriculum.

Participation in at least 1 sport, 1 club, and 1 uniformed body activity as a means of fostering individual talents and interests, along with building leadership skills.

Integration of Salient New Technologies- The use of ICT in appropriate context of education can add value to the teaching and learning experience, thus helps in developing ICT literate workforce.e.g. KSSR (TMK/RBT)The equal syllabuses adapted in schools provide students with equal knowledge and values to develop individuals who grown holistically.

Islamic Education or Moral Education is compulsory for all students from Year 1 through to Form 5Data from United Nations Human Development Index (UNHDI) shows that 92.5% (almost 24 million) Malaysians are literate.

Malaysia is categorised under High Human Development (HDI).

Malaysia had achieved near universal enrolment at the primary level at 94%, and the percentage of students who dropped out of primary school had been significantly reduced (from 3% in 1989 to just 0.2% in 2011).

Regardless of KAFA classes and Moral Education in schools, the social problems show an increase in graphs.

The quality of education is compromised in which there are many issues regarding the implementation on new system (i.e.: School Based Assessment, PT3).Most of the scholarship are offered to the students with excellent academic qualification without taking into consideration their holistic growth.
