GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Fungicide Resistance Warning GROUP 28 FUNGICIDE

Banol is a member of the multi-site activity group of fungicides. For fungicide resistance

management Banol is a Group 28 fungicide.

Some naturally occurring fungal populations resistant to Banol and other Group 28 fungicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any fungal population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the fungi population if these fungicides are used repeatedly. These resistant

fungi will not be controlled by Banol and other Group 28 fungicides, thus resulting in a reduction in efficacy and possible yield loss. Since the occurrence of resistant fungi is difficult to detect prior to use, Bayer CropScience Pty Ltd accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of Banol to control resistant fungi.

Mixing This product is completely soluble in water. Simply add the concentrate to the water and stir thoroughly when mixing. The mixture is stable and can be used the following day.

Application Equipment The product can be applied using a watering can or injection equipment (e.g. Gewa) or any conventional high volume ground spraying equipment calibrated to low pressure pump output. Spray nozzles should be capable of delivering a coarse high volume spray at low pressure, 50 to100 Kpa.

Compatibility The product is compatible with most insecticides and fungicides. It is NOT compatible with foliar nutrients.

PRECAUTION Banol is corrosive to metals and spray residues should be washed out of the spray vat and the spray system with clean water immediately after use.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS Banol has displayed a wide range of safety to ornamental flowers, indoor plants and shrubs. However, if the compound is used repeatedly at short intervals or if it is employed at increased concentration rates, slight necrotic tipping of the cotyledons or of advanced leaves which have stopped growing, may occur.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with product or used containers. Banol® is a Registered Trademark of the Bayer Group GHS May cause an allergic skin reaction. Avoid breathing spray. Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace. Wear protective gloves. IF ON SKIN: wash with plenty of soap and water. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention. Specific treatment: (see Safety Directions and First Aid on this label). Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Fungicide Resistance Warning GROUP C FUNGICIDE

Bayfidan Turf Fungicide is a member of the DMI group of fungicides. For fungicide resistance management the product is a Group C fungicide. Some naturally occurring individual fungi resistant to the product and other Group C fungicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any fungal population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the fungal population if these fungicides are used repeatedly. These resistant fungi will not be controlled by this product and other Group C fungicides, thus resulting in a reduction in efficacy. Since the occurrence of resistant fungi is difficult to detect prior to use, Bayer CropScience Pty Ltd accepts no liability for any losses that result from failure of this product to control resistant fungi.

Mixing: Add the required quantity of Bayfidan to water in the spray vat while stirring or with agitators in motion. Bayfidan is a broad spectrum, systemic, foliar fungicide that is quickly taken up by plants and translocated within the plant. Bayfidan provides protection on a monthly spray program and acts curatively after infection has taken place. Because of its systemic activity, Bayfidan is less affected by rainfall or irrigation than contact type fungicides.

Compatibility Bayfidan is compatible with Baythroid® Turf Insecticide. The compatibilities given are based on world wide experience and are considered correct. However as changes in climatic conditions can alter the sensitivity of plants to mixtures of sprays, we accept no responsibility for the behaviour of such mixtures.

NOT TO BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE OR IN ANY MANNER CONTRARY TO THIS LABEL UNLESS AUTHORISED UNDER APPROPRIATE LEGISLATION.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Note: Chipco® GT may be very unstable in conditions where the pH is 7 or higher. It is therefore essential to check the pH of the spray solution before adding Chipco® GT. A suitable registered buffering agent may have to be added to bring pH down below 7. Application: Good control requires good coverage. Application should be made using sufficient water to ensure thorough coverage. Turf nutrition: This product acts very rapidly and where the turf is of a low nutritional status, a slight yellowing may be seen. This will be corrected by nitrogenous fertiliser application. Where possible, it is recommended that the fertiliser program should precede the fungicide application. Compatibility: With any mixture, thoroughly agitate immediately before applying. The use of a surfactant or spray oil is not recommended with Chipco® GT as it may result in damage to sensitive plants. DO NOT mix with fertilisers. Mixtures with some fertilisers, e.g. urea, may cause foliar damage. Mixing Chipco® GT with Chipco®

Signature Systemic Fungicide may result in some settling out. As formulations of other manufacturers' products are beyond the control of Bayer CropScience, all mixtures should be tested prior to mixing commercial quantities. FUNGICIDE RESISTANCE STRATEGY GROUP 2 FUNGICIDE For fungicide resistance management Chipco® GT is a Group 2 fungicide. Some naturally occurring individual fungi resistant to Chipco® GT and other Group 2 fungicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any fungal population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the fungal population if these fungicides are used repeatedly. These resistant fungi will not be controlled by Chipco® GT and other Group 2 fungicides, thus resulting in a reduction in efficacy. Since the occurrence of resistant fungi is difficult to detect prior to use, Bayer CropScience accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of Chipco® GT to control resistant fungi. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FUNGICIDE RESISTANCE WARNING GROUP 33 FUNGICIDE Chipco Signature Systemic Fungicide is a member of the Multi-site activity group of fungicides. For fungicide resistance management the product is a Group 33 fungicide. Some naturally occurring individual fungi resistant to Chipco Signature Systemic Fungicide and other Group 33 fungicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any fungal population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the fungal population if these fungicides are used repeatedly. These resistant fungi will not be controlled by Chipco Signature Systemic Fungicide or other Group 33 fungicides, thus resulting in a reduction in efficacy and possible yield loss. Since the occurrence of resistant fungi is difficult to detect prior to use, Bayer CropScience accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of Chipco Signature Systemic Fungicide to control resistant fungi. Mixing: Fill the spray tank to at least half the desired amount with clean water and commence agitation. Add the required quantity of Chipco Signature directly to the water and complete filling to the final volume. Continue agitation. DO NOT make a slurry or paste prior to adding to the tank. Application: Turf only - Apply 5 L to 20 L of water per 100 m2. Note on ornamentals; Chipco Signature has been used on a wide range of ornamental plant species without damage. However, some species and varieties are particularly sensitive to chemical products. It is advisable to treat only a small number of plants first, in order to determine their reaction to the product, before large scale use. Compatibility: Chipco Signature is compatible with a number of fungicides. If unsure, it is recommended that a Jar test be conducted to determine compatibility. Always add Chipco Signature to the mixture last. With any mixture, constantly agitate prior to and during application. It is not recommended to mix this product with more than one additional pesticide in the tank. Always test mixtures on a small number of plants before large scale use. As formulations of other manufacturers products are beyond the control of Bayer Environmental Science, all mixtures should be tested prior to mixing commercial quantities. PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT Dangerous to fish. Do not contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with the chemical or used containers.

RESISTANCE WARNING

GROUP 3 11 FUNGICIDE

For fungicide resistance management DEDICATE is a Group 3 & 11 fungicide. Some naturally occurring

individual fungi resistant to DEDICATE and other Group 3 & 11 fungicides may exist through normal genetic

variability in any fungal population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the fungal population if

these fungicides are used repeatedly. These resistant fungi will not be controlled by DEDICATE and other

Group 3 & 11 fungicides, thus resulting in a reduction in efficacy. Since the occurrence of resistant fungi is

difficult to detect prior to use, Bayer accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of

DEDICATE to control resistant fungi.

PRECAUTIONS RISK TO NON-TARGET INSECTS: DEDICATE may have adverse effects on some non-target beneficial insects, in particular predatory bugs. This risk should be taken into account where Integrated Pest Management utilising these organisms is practiced.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS DO NOT apply under weather conditions, or from spraying equipment, that may cause spray to drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands or pastures.

SITUATION WEED RATE CRITICAL COMMENTS

Turf. Only apply to kikuyu, buffalo grass or couchgrass (common and hybrid couchgrass NOT Queensland Blue Couch)

Weeds suppressed Apply to actively growing weeds and not to weeds under stress. Always apply with a non-ionic

surfactant or Hasten at the recommended rate on the surfactant product label. Use a water rate of 200-500 L/ha Avoid exceeding application rates through overlapping sprayed areas. Safety screening may not have been conducted on all new buffalo grass varieties and it is therefore recommended that small areas be tested for turf safety before large-scale application occurs. For suppressed weed species, better efficacy can be expected against younger weed plants. Less than 50 % control can be expected where more mature plants are established.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Destiny is a selective sulfonylurea herbicide. It is predominantly a foliar herbicide with less activity via the soil. Destiny will not reliably control weeds that emerge after spraying. Results are best under good growing conditions and application to weeds or turf under stress should be avoided. Mixing Ensure that the spray tank is completely clean prior to mixing. Half fill the spray tank with water, then with agitators in motion, add the correct amount of Destiny directly into the spray tank. Then add wetting agent or crop oil as recommended. Complete filling the tank with agitators in motion. Agitation must continue before and during spraying. If pH of water carrier is less than 5.5 use a buffer solution to raise pH to meet 7.0. DO NOT mix Destiny with acid forming compounds in the spray vat. DO NOT leave spray mix standing in the vat overnight. Application Ensure spraying equipment is properly calibrated before use. Ensure that complete and even spray coverage of all weeds is achieved. DO NOT overlap sprayed areas. Apply with the boom no higher than 50 cm above the turf with flat fan nozzles and a medium droplet size. Turf Safety Application to very dry sandy soils followed by soaking rainfall may cause turf damage. Turf damage may also be increased in highly alkaline soils (soil pH >8.5 as determined by soil in water suspension). Avoid application on turf which is not yet established or which is under stress from environmental conditions. Allow at least six weeks between the last application and overseeding with cool season grasses for winter cover. Sprayer Clean Up The sprayer must be thoroughly decontaminated before being used again to spray susceptible plants or turf. Ensure that the following operation is carried out in an area that is clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots, and preferably in an area where drainings can be contained. 1. Drain sprayer completely and wash out tank, boom and hoses with clean water. 2. Drain again. 3. Fill the tank with clean water and add 300 mL of chlorine bleach (containing 4% chlorine) per 100 L

of water with agitation running. 4. Flush some bleach solution through booms and hoses and allow remainder to agitate in tank for 10

minutes. 5. Remove nozzles and filters and leave to soak in a bleach solution of 500 mL per 10 L of water

while tank cleaning is in progress. 6. Briefly run the pump at periodic intervals to refresh chlorine solution in spray lines. 7. Drain tank and repeat the procedure of flushing with bleach solution. 8. Flush the tank, boom and hoses with clean water.

HERBICIDE RESISTANCE WARNING GROUP B HERBICIDE

Destiny® Selective Turf Herbicide is a member of the sulfonylurea group of herbicides and has the

inhibitor of ALS mode of action. For weed resistance management Destiny is a Group B herbicide.

Some naturally-occurring weed biotypes resistant to Destiny, and other Group B herbicides, may exist

through normal genetic variability in any weed population. These resistant individuals can eventually

dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds will not

be controlled by Destiny or other Group B herbicides.

DO NOT rely exclusively on Destiny for weed control. Use as part of an integrated weed

management program involving herbicides with other modes of action and non-chemical methods of

control. CropLife Australia resistance management strategies are available from your local agricultural

chemical supplier. Refer to these strategies for details of how to manage the build-up of resistant

weeds in your turf. Since occurrence of resistant weeds is difficult to detect prior to use, Bayer

CropScience Pty. Ltd. accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of Destiny to

control resistant weeds.

PRECAUTIONS Mowing: Avoid mowing during the 3 to 4 days preceding or following treatment.

RE-ENTRY PERIOD DO NOT allow entry into treated areas until the spray has dried.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS Very toxic to aquatic

plants and certain algae. DO NOT apply under weather conditions, or from spraying equipment, that

may cause spray to drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands or pastures. DO NOT

replant any crop or ornamental to treated areas other than the turf grass listed in the directions for use

for a period of 12 months after application. DO NOT use clippings from treated areas for mulch

Auxillary panel __________________________________________________________________________ Directions for use PLANT PEST RATE CRITICAL COMMENTS

Initiator tablets will control or significantly reduce damage caused by insects (described below) that attack containerised, newly planted and established plants. Through insect protection and fertiliser effects the tablet has been shown to improve survival and growth rates of newly established seedlings, containerized trees and shrubs, and newly-planted or established ornamental plants.

Roses Aphids

1 tablet per m of plant height.

Transplanted stock: Place tablet(s) in planting hole, immediately beneath root ball, at time of planting

Established in-ground or

potted plants: Create a hole in the soil approximately 5 cm deep, as close to the absorptive roots as possible (at least 10 cm away from stem of plant). Place tablet in hole and ensure tablet is completely covered with soil after placement. In plants greater than 1 m in height, where multiple tablets are required, space out the tablets evenly around the plant.

Azaleas (in-ground and potted)

Azalea lace bug

Lillypillies Psyllids

Potted palms Mealybugs

Magnolias Scale

Eucalypt trees Various defoliating insect pests including Chrysomelid larvae and adults (eg. Chrysophtharta spp., Paropsis spp., Cadmus spp.), scarab pests (eg. Heteronyx dimidiata and H. crinitus)

Auxillary panel – outer box __________________________________________________________________________ GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: Initiator tablets are formulated to release active ingredient slowly. Release of active ingredient is dependent on presence of adequate soil moisture. For best results, irrigate the plant after treatment, and ensure that the plant receives regular irrigation for at least 2-3 months after treatment.

FORESTRY APPLICATIONS Once the seedling has been placed into the planting hole where an Initiator tablet has been applied there is no requirement for any deviation from normal planting practice.

This tablet formulation has been shown to significantly improve growth and establishment rates of eucalypt plantations in areas where insect pests are significant limitations to growth and establishment.

PRODUCTION AND LANDSCAPE ORNAMENTALS

Initiator tablets can be used as directed on the plant species described above in areas such as production and retail nurseries, home gardens and residential complexes; business, office and shopping complexes; golf courses, airports, cemeteries, parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, and other landscaped recreational areas.

INSECTICIDE RESISTANCE WARNING:

GROUP 4A INSECTICIDE

For insecticide resistance management Initiator is a Group 4A insecticide. Some naturally occurring insect biotypes resistant to Initiator and other Group 4A insecticides may exist through normal genetic variability in any insect population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the insect population if Initiator or other Group 4A insecticides are used repeatedly. The effectiveness of Initiator on resistant individuals could be significantly reduced. Since the occurrence of resistant individuals is difficult to detect prior to use, Bayer CropScience accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of this product to control resistant insects. Initiator Tablets may be subject to specific resistance management strategies. For further information contact your local supplier or Bayer Environmental Science representative.

PRECAUTIONS

DO NOT allow stock to graze treated trees or pasture adjacent to trees. PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEA AND ENVIRONMENT DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with the chemical or used containers. DO NOT leave tablets exposed above ground as they are dangerous to wildlife, particularly birds.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL Store in the closed, original container in a dry, cool, well ventilated area out of direct sunlight. Triple rinse container before disposal. Dispose of rinsings in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots. If recycling, replace lid and return clean containers to recycler or designated collection point. If not recycling, break, crush, or puncture and deliver empty packaging to an approved waste management facility. DO NOT burn empty containers or product. DO NOT re-use empty containers for any other purpose.

SAFETY DIRECTIONS May irritate the eyes and skin. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wear rubber gloves. Wash hands after use.

FIRST AID If poisoning occurs contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre (131126).

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Application Good control requires good coverage. Application should be made using sufficient water to ensure thorough coverage. Note: This product may be very unstable in conditions where the pH is 7 or higher. It is therefore essential to check the pH of the spray solution before adding this product. A suitable registered buffering agent may have to be added to bring pH down below 7. Turf nutrition This product acts very rapidly and where the turf is of a low nutritional status, a slight yellowing may be seen. This effect will be corrected by nitrogenous fertiliser application. Where possible, it is recommended that the fertiliser program should precede the fungicide application.

RLP approved 19 May 2014 Interface® StressGard Turf Fungicide Page 4 of 5 Compatibility As formulations of other manufacturers’ products are beyond the control of Bayer, all mixtures should be tested prior to mixing commercial quantities. RISK TO NON-TARGET INSECTS Interface® StressGard Turf Fungicide may have adverse effects on some non-target beneficial insects, in particular predatory bugs. This risk should be taken into account where Integrated Pest Management utilising these organisms is practiced.

FUNGICIDE RESISTANCE WARNING GROUP 2 11 FUNGICIDE

For fungicide resistance management, Interface® StressGard is a Group 2 & 11 fungicide. Some naturally occurring individual fungi resistant to Interface® StressGard and other Group 2 & 11 fungicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any fungal population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the fungal population if these fungicides are used repeatedly. These resistant fungi will not be controlled by Interface® StressGard and other Group 2 & 11 fungicides, thus resulting in a reduction in efficacy. Since the occurrence of resistant fungi is difficult to detect prior to use, Bayer accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of Interface® StressGard to control resistant fungi. PRECAUTIONS DO NOT apply in areas accessible to children. DO NOT apply using equipment carried on the back of the user. RE-ENTRY PERIOD DO NOT enter treated areas to perform low exposure activities such as irrigation until the spray has dried, unless wearing cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing) and chemical resistant gloves. Clothing must be laundered after each day’s use.

DO NOT enter treated areas to perform high exposure activities such as transplanting and hand weeding for 20 days unless wearing cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing) and chemical resistant gloves. Clothing must be laundered after each day’s use. PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS DO NOT apply under weather conditions, or from spraying equipment, that may cause spray to drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands or pastures. PROTECTION OF LIVESTOCK DO NOT graze treated areas or feed turf clippings from treated areas to animals including poultry. PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT Very toxic to aquatic life. DO NOT contaminate wetlands or water courses with this product or used containers. Flatid (Jamella australiae)

SpotSpray 875 mL/100 L of water

Stem injection 1.75 L/1 L of water

Spot spray: Spray 100 mL of mixture directly into the leafy throat of each head.

Stem injection: Drill holes 0.5 to 1 cm in diameter and 10 cm deep at an angle of 30° 1 to 1.5 m above ground level. Drill one hole per limb (or trunk in single trunked trees). Apply 5 mL of mixture in each hole and seal the hole. Do not re-apply in the same holes. Uptake of Merit, and therefore control of the pest in heavily infested heads already showing severe damage, will be slow and may be incomplete.

INSECTICIDE RESISTANCE WARNING

GROUP 4A INSECTICIDE

For insecticide resistance management Merit is a Group 4A insecticide. Some naturally occurring insect biotypes resistant to Merit and other Group 4A insecticides may exist through normal genetic variability in any insect population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the insect population if Merit or other Group 4A insecticides are used repeatedly. The effectiveness of Merit on resistant individuals could be significantly reduced. Since the occurrence of resistant individuals is difficult to detect prior to use, Bayer CropScience accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of this product to control resistant insects. Merit Insecticide may be subject to specific resistance management strategies. For further information contact your local supplier or Bayer Environmental Science representative.

Insecticide Resistance Management Strategy for aphids other than green peach aphid and cotton

aphid, whitefly and melon thrips: Do not apply Merit in consecutive sprays. Rotate with registered

insecticides from other groups.

Confined environments such as glasshouses: Annuals: Do not apply more than one spray of Merit to

any one crop. Perennials: Rotate with registered insecticides from other groups. Use a maximum of

three sprays in any 12 month period.

Note on Ornamentals MERIT has been used on a wide range of ornamental plant species without damage. However, some species and varieties are particularly sensitive to chemical sprays and as this is often related to local conditions it is advisable to treat only a small number of plants first, in order to ascertain their reaction before treating the whole crop.

Mixing

Prior to pouring, shake container vigorously then add the required quantity of Merit to water in the spray

vat while stirring or with agitators in motion.

MERIT may be mixed in the spray tank with TEMPO® XTRA Turf and Ornamental Insecticide. Follow the use rates on the TEMPO XTRA label when using this product in a tank mix with TEMPO XTRA. MERIT is compatible with various fungicides, insecticides, herbicides and soil wetting agents. As formulations of other manufacturers’ products are beyond the control of Bayer CropScience Pty Ltd, all mixtures should be tested prior to mixing commercial quantities. MERIT should not be mixed with fertilisers.

PROTECTION OF LIVESTOCK

Dangerous to bees. Do not spray any plants in flower while bees are foraging. DO NOT graze treated

turf or feed turf clippings from any treated area to poultry or livestock.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with the chemical or used containers.

Uniform application is essential for satisfactory weed control. Calibrate the applicator prior to use according to the manufacturer's instructions, and check applicator frequently to ensure that the equipment is working properly. After application, ensure granules are washed or brushed off the foliage, particularly the foliage of prostrate and dense ground-cover plants. DO NOT apply granules when foliage is wet. Turf: As above. Ensure that the turf area is free of leaves and other debris, mowing if necessary, so that the granules reach the soil surface. Measure the area to be treated and apply the required amount using a properly calibrated granular applicator as above. Oscillating spout and rotary type fertilizer spreaders are recommended for large areas. Activity of this product is dependent on moist soil conditions. If rain is not received within 2 days after application, apply thorough sprinkler irrigation to wash granules off the leaves and help distribute the granules on the soil surface. DO NOT apply granules when the turf foliage is wet.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Application: Good control requires good coverage. Application should be made using sufficient water to ensure thorough coverage. Precaution: Scorpio® Ornamental Fungicide has been used on a range of ornamental plant species (i.e. azaleas, begonias, chrysanthemums, cinerea, geraniums, gerbera, Myrtaceae, native daisy, pelargoniums, roses, snapdragon) without damage. Some species and varieties however are particularly sensitive to chemical sprays and as this sensitivity is often related to local conditions, it is advisable to treat only a small number of plants first, in order to ascertain the reaction before treating the whole target group.

AUXILLARY PANEL (ONE PIECE LABEL)

General Instructions: No dilution is required; this product is intended to be applied undiluted directly into the trunk or branches of trees in order to provide systemic control of insect pests. SilvaShield Injectable Tree Insecticide can be used as directed on ornamental trees in residential areas, business and office complexes, shopping complexes, multi-family residential complexes, golf courses, airports, cemeteries, parks, playgrounds, and athletic fields. SilvaShield also can be used in commercial forestry production, nurseries, greenhouses, and in state, federal, county and local recreational forests. The active ingredient in SilvaShield Injectable Tree Insecticide has sufficient residual activity so that applications can be made preceding the attack of the trees by target pests. SilvaShield Injectable also controls existing infestations of most labelled pests. If the level of infestation is severe, the high label rate for the targeted pest is recommended.

Systemic activity occurs only after the active ingredient is translocated upwards in the tree. In some cases, translocation can take 10 days or longer, depending on the transpiration rate of the treated plant. The need for an application can be based on historical monitoring of the site, previous records or experiences, current season adult trapping or other methods. For best results (i.e., to ensure uptake), application should be made when the tree is actively transpiring. Less than satisfactory results, including slow or reduced impact on beetles and larvae, may occur if trees are suffering from lack of moisture, thereby reducing translocation of the active ingredient. For best results, dedicated injection equipment is recommended.

Application Equipment SilvaShield Injectable Tree Insecticide can be applied with a variety of trunk injection devices. To minimise the possibility of corrosion of equipment, use chemically-resistant components or ensure thorough cleaning after use. For all injector systems, read carefully and follow all manufacturers’ directions for use.

Drilling the hole With most injector systems, it is necessary to pre-drill holes prior to insertion of the applicator device. Holes should be drilled deep enough to permit transport of SilvaShield upwards in the vascular tissue. Take note of drill hole spacing in the critical comments of the directions for use. To determine the number of injection holes needed, measure the tree circumference at 1.3m above the ground. Divide the circumference (as measured in centimetres) by the recommended hole spacing to determine the number of holes needed. Initial injector sites should be in the active sapwood. If a single hole cannot accept its full dose, the dose may be divided among the other initial injection holes. Spacing of injection holes should be vertically and horizontally staggered so that they are not aligned with other holes.

Compatibility

No information is available that indicates physical compatibility with other products. Mixing SilvaShield

Injectable with other products cannot therefore be recommended.

PROTECTION OF LIVESTOCK: This product is highly toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment or

residues on flowering trees and shrubs. DO NOT use on trees which are likely to be used by

commercial beehives.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT: DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with the chemical or used containers. This product is highly toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment or residues on flowering trees and shrubs. To minimise risk, ensure injection occurs after flowering in species that are pollinated by bees.

UNLESS AUTHORISED UNDER APPROPRIATE LEGISLATION.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

For best results the turf and weeds should be actively growing at the time of treatment. Complete

weed death may take up to 6 weeks. Faster results can be expected on smaller weeds. Due to residual

effects of diflufenican, overseeding treated areas within 3 months of application may inhibit establishment of the

turfgrass.

Mixing Shake original container before use. Agitate continuously to ensure thorough mixing before and during application. Only mix sufficient chemical for each day’s work. Surfactants (if used) should be added after Spearhead and water are mixed when the spray-tank is almost full.

Mowing

Avoid mowing during the 3 to 4 days preceding or following treatment.

Cleaning Spray Equipment

THOROUGHLY CLEAN ALL APPLICATION EQUIPMENT AFTER USE. Rinse water should be

discharged onto a designated disposal area or if unavailable onto unused land away from desirable

plants and water-courses.

Partial Cleaning (before spraying tolerant turf): After using Spearhead, empty the tank completely and

drain the whole system. Thoroughly wash inside the tank with a pressure hose. Quarter fill the tank

with clean water and circulate through the pump, line, hoses and nozzles. Drain and repeat procedure

twice.

Complete cleaning (before spraying susceptible plants): After using Spearhead empty the tank

completely and drain the whole system. Thoroughly wash inside the tank with a pressure hose. Quarter

fill the tank with clean water and circulate through the pump, line, hoses and nozzles, then drain.

Quarter fill the tank again and add an alkaline detergent at 500 mL/100 L water and circulate through

the system for at least 15 minutes. Drain, remove filters and nozzles and clean separately. Rinse inside

the tank thoroughly using a pressure hose and flush system with clean water.

RESISTANCE WARNING GROUP F I HERBICIDE

Spearhead Selective Herbicide is a member of the nicotinanilide, phenoxy and pyridine groups of

herbicides. Spearhead Selective Herbicide has the inhibitors of carotenoid biosynthesis and disruptor

of cell growth modes of action. For weed resistance management Spearhead is a group F and I

herbicide. Some naturally occurring weed biotypes resistant to Spearhead and other Group F and I

herbicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any weed population. The resistant

individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly.

These resistant weeds will not be controlled by Spearhead or other Group F or I herbicides. Since the

occurrence of resistant weeds is difficult to detect prior to use, Bayer CropScience accepts no liability

for any losses that may result from the failure of Spearhead Selective Herbicide to control resistant

weeds.

COMPATIBILITY

No information is available that indicates physical compatibility with other products. Tank-mixing other

products with Spearhead cannot therefore be recommended. As formulations of other manufacturers'

products are beyond the control of Bayer CropScience, all mixtures should be tested prior to mixing

commercial quantities.

PRECAUTION

Hand-weeding and transplanting should not be performed before 2 weeks after spray application,

unless workers wear overalls (or equivalent clothing) and chemical resistant gloves.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS

DO NOT apply under weather conditions or from spraying equipment that may cause spray to drift onto

nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands or pastures. Spray drift from Spearhead application

may cause injury to herbaceous plants, vegetables, fruit crops, vines, ornamentals and trees.

DO NOT use clippings from treated areas for mulch around vegetables or fruit trees.

PROTECTION OF LIVESTOCK

DO NOT graze treated turf or feed turf clippings from any treated area to poultry or livestock.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT

Dangerous to fish and other aquatic life. DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with the

chemical or used containers.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

Store in the closed, original container in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area. Do not store for prolonged

periods in direct sunlight. Triple or preferably pressure rinse containers before disposal. Add rinsings

to the spray tank. Do not dispose of undiluted chemicals on-site. If recycling, replace cap and return

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

SPECTICLE is a selective, pre-emergent herbicide that provides residual control of certain grass

weeds on established warm-season turf on golf course fairways. Specticle controls weeds by

reducing the emergence of seedlings through inhibition of cellulose biosynthesis (CB inhibitor).

Specticle needs to be activated prior to weed germination for most effective control. For maximum

activity against germinating weeds, Specticle requires rainfall or irrigation prior to weed

germination.

MIXING

Ensure that the spray tank is completely clean prior to mixing. Half fill the spray tank with water,

then with agitators in motion, add the correct amount of Specticle directly into the spray tank.

Complete filling the tank with agitators in motion. Agitation must continue before and during

APPLICATION

Ensure spraying equipment is properly calibrated before use. Uniform application is essential for

satisfactory weed control. Ensure that complete and even spray coverage is achieved. DO NOT

overlap sprayed areas.

APVMA Compliance Instructions for Mandatory COARSE or Larger Droplet Size Categories

Important Information: These instructions inform users of this chemical product how to lawfully

comply with the requirement of a COARSE or larger spray droplet size category for spray application.

Spray droplet size categories are defined in the ASAE S572 Standard (newer name may also be

shown as ASABE) or the BCPC guideline. Nozzle manufacturers may refer to one or both to identify

droplet size categories, but for a nozzle to comply with this requirement, the manufacturer must

refer to at least one.

Complying with the label requirement to use a specific droplet size category means using the

correct nozzle that will deliver that droplet size category under the spray operation conditions

being used. The APVMA has approved only the following specific methods for choosing the

correct nozzle. Use one of the methods specified in these instructions to select a correct nozzle to

deliver a COARSE or larger droplet size category.

USE ONLY nozzles that the nozzles’ manufacturer has rated to deliver a COARSE, a VERY COARSE or

an EXTREMELY COARSE droplet size category as referenced to ASAE S572 or BCPC. Choose a nozzle

specified to provide the droplet size category required in the label Spray Drift Restraints.

DO NOT use a higher spray system pressure than the maximum the manufacturer specifies for the

selected nozzle to deliver the droplet size category required in the label Spray Drift Restraint.

SPRAYER CLEAN UP

The sprayer must be thoroughly decontaminated before being used again to spray susceptible plants

or turf. Ensure that the following operation is carried out in an area that is clear of waterways,

desirable vegetation and tree roots, and preferably in an area where drainings can be contained.

1. Drain sprayer completely and wash out tank, boom and hoses with clean water.

2. Drain again.

3. Fill the tank with clean water and add 300 mL of chlorine bleach (containing 4% chlorine) per

100 L of water with agitation running.

4. Flush some bleach solution through booms and hoses and allow remainder to agitate in tank

for 10 minutes.

USE OF SPECTICLE ON TURF IN COARSE AND SANDY SOILS: Soil conditions can affect the tolerance

of turf to Specticle. Coarse or sandy soils may allow for downward movement of Specticle into the

Page 79: TURF AND ORNAMENTAL SYSTEMIC FUNGICIDE Turf... · Approved 29.02.2012 Banol Turf and Ornamental Systemic Fungicide Page 5 of 7 BOOKLET - contd DIRECTIONS FOR USE Refer to LIST OF

root zone and cause significant damage and phytotoxicity. Prior to application of Specticle in coarse

or sandy soils, confirm texture with a soil test. Turf grown in soil exceeding 80% sand or 20% gravel

may be at risk. If Specticle is to be applied on these soils, evaluate treated soils for tolerance prior to

large scale application.

IRRIGATION AND WATERING AFTER APPLICATION: Specticle will provide residual weed control

when adequate moisture is present and the application is followed by rain or irrigation (3 to 6 mm)

within 21 days and prior to weed seed germination. DO NOT create conditions that cause visible

run-off of irrigation water. Adequate rainfall following an application will negate the need for

irrigation.

APPLICATION NEAR SENSITIVE GRASSES: Specticle can cause turf injury and stand reduction to

sensitive grasses. Specticle may affect sensitive grasses downslope from treated areas after

excessive rainfall. To minimize off-target effects of Specticle on sensitive grasses, irrigate after

application as directed in the IRRIGATION AND WATERING AFTER APPLICATION section of this label

and observe the MANDATORY No-Spray zones. Allow turf to dry before allowing foot traffic or

equipment through treated areas near sensitive grasses. DO NOT apply Specticle on uphill slopes

and adjacent to greens overseeded with cool season grasses. DO NOT apply Specticle to annual and

perennial ryegrass or to couchgrass overseeded with ryegrass. Specticle may be applied in situations

where warm season grasses such as couchgrass are adjacent to sensitive cool season grasses. The

applicator, however, must take care not to apply Specticle directly to sensitive grasses or injury may

occur. Application of Specticle may be made adjacent to sensitive cool season grasses if the grass is

established for at least 16 months.

DEACTIVATING SPECTICLE: Activated charcoal has been shown to deactivate Specticle if applied

within several days of application. Application of activated charcoal within 2 weeks of an application

of Specticle will not reverse phytotoxic symptoms immediately but it will aid in recovery over time.

If it should be necessary to re-sod areas treated with Specticle, remove damaged turf to a depth of

at least 5 cm, cultivate the soil and apply activated charcoal to bare ground prior to laying sod.

Follow directions for the amount of charcoal to apply on the label of the activated charcoal.

SEEDING, RE-SEEDING AND OVERSEEDING: Timing of seeding, re-seeding, overseeding, sprigging

and sodding turf relative to an application of Specticle needs to be monitored carefully. Specticle

can inhibit root development as well as the emergence of seed. Roots of newly emerged seedlings

may be damaged and establishment of sod may be affected if Specticle is applied to turf that is not

well established.

APPLICATION OF SPECTICLE PRIOR TO OVERSEEDING COUCHGRASS WITH PERENNIAL RYEGRASS

OR RESEEDING INTO WARM-SEASON TURF: Specticle may be used to control weeds in couchgrass

prior to overseeding with a cool season grass or re-seeding seeded cultivars of couchgrass, provided

that the interval between application and seeding is appropriate. The minimum interval between

application of Specticle and seeding or overseeding is 12 months. Applications made sooner than

the minimum interval may decrease the establishment of the new seedlings and reduce turf

coverage.

WARM-SEASON GRASSES ESTABLISHED WITH SPRIGS: Specticle may be applied to sprigs of warm

season grasses. The sprigs need to be well rooted prior to application. Apply Specticle no sooner

than 16 months after sprigging to allow for good stand establishment. Prior to application, check

Page 80: TURF AND ORNAMENTAL SYSTEMIC FUNGICIDE Turf... · Approved 29.02.2012 Banol Turf and Ornamental Systemic Fungicide Page 5 of 7 BOOKLET - contd DIRECTIONS FOR USE Refer to LIST OF

rooting to make sure new roots are developing. If roots are not growing, delay application of

Specticle.

SODDING WARM SEASON GRASSES: Delay sodding into bare ground or turf treated with Specticle

until 6 months after application. Sodding before 6 months may inhibit stand establishment and

reduce turf quality. For maximum establishment of sod, follow the directions for use for

deactivation of Specticle using activated charcoal. Sod needs to be actively growing / established at

least 3 months prior to an application of Specticle. Prior to application, check the turfgrass sod to

make sure new roots are developing. If roots are not growing, delay application of Specticle.

HERBICIDE RESISTANCE WARNING

GROUP O HERBICIDE

SPECTICLE Herbicide is a member of the O group of herbicides (alkylazines) and has the inhibitor of

cell wall [cellulose] synthesis mode of action. For weed resistance management SPECTICLE is a

Group O herbicide. Some naturally-occurring weed biotypes resistant to SPECTICLE, and other

Group O herbicides, may exist through normal genetic variability in any weed population. These

resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used

repeatedly. These resistant weeds will not be controlled by SPECTICLE or other Group O herbicides.

DO NOT rely exclusively on SPECTICLE for weed control. Use as part of an integrated weed

management program involving herbicides with other modes of action and non-chemical methods

of control. Since occurrence of resistant weeds is difficult to detect prior to use Bayer CropScience

Pty Ltd accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of SPECTICLE to control

resistant weeds.

COMPATIBILITY

As formulations of other manufacturers’ products are beyond the control of Bayer and water quality

varies with location, any mixture should be tested prior to mixing commercial quantities.

PRECAUTIONS

DO NOT use on golf greens, tees or collars.

DO NOT use on turf:

exhibiting injury from previous applications of other products;

stressed under cool or cold growing season conditions;

which is newly seeded, sodded or sprigged;

which is not well established (turf is defined as established at least 16 months after seeding or

sprigging);

recovering from wear, scarification, aeration or coring.

INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT

The possible effects of this product on integrated pest management (IPM) strategies in the turf

industry have not been studied at the proposed rates.

For use on non-porous surfaces; apply at a rate of 5 L of prepared spray per 100 m2 not exceeding the point of run-off. For use on porous surfaces or for use through power equipment; apply at a rate of 10 L per 100 m2 of surface, not exceeding the point of run-off.

Cockroaches Conduct a thorough inspection and apply to known and potential cockroach harbourages. A barrier application around areas where cockroach infestations may be originating is also suggested. Repeat application as required. Where application of a spray is not suitable it is recommended to apply a suitably registered Maxforce® cockroach gel as per the registered label of that product.

Web-spinning spiders

Spray spiders, their webbing and areas where spiders may hide directly. It is recommended that webbing is left in place for a few days after application to optimise efficacy.

Non-web-spinning spiders

Spray areas where spiders are known to occur.

Ants Where possible locate the nest and spray directly into nest entrances. Penetration of insecticide can be assisted by pre-wetting sandy and porous soils with water. A thorough soaking treatment with insecticide mixture is required to destroy the nest. If nest cannot be located then spray infested areas.

Fleas Clean and vacuum infested areas and dispose of dust collected in the garbage in a sealed plastic bag. Lightly spray infested areas concentrating on areas under furniture etc. Treat pets with a suitably registered flea control product. See also the note on application to carpets below.

Mosquitoes and Flies

Spray surfaces where flies and mosquitoes are known to come to rest. Flies – include external surfaces that are exposed to the morning sun. Mosquitoes – spray walls, awnings, fences and vegetated areas in proximity to buildings. Note: The perception of the level of control of flying insects achieved within any given area treated with a residual surface spray will be affected by the extent of in-migration of individuals from external (untreated) areas. A residual surface spray will only control those insects that alight on the treated surfaces and therefore complete elimination of flying insects from the treated area should not necessarily always be expected.

Silverfish Direct spray to areas of potential and existing infestations e.g. under skirting boards and furniture where dark conditions may favour silverfish populations. If spraying inside cupboards or storage areas remove clothing and utensils etc. before spraying.

Crickets Spray infested areas. In addition a barrier treatment can be sprayed across areas where these pests enter buildings.

Clothes moths Spray surfaces in areas where clothes are stored. DO NOT spray the clothes themselves.

Carpet beetles Apply to infested carpets particularly in areas of little or no traffic and underneath windows where adult beetles may be entering the building. See also the note on application to carpets below.

Bedbugs Apply to the bed-frame and walls, cracks, crevices and skirting boards in the vicinity of the bed.

Stored Product Pests

The use of this product in the control of stored product pests should be considered part of an integrated strategy to prevent development of insect populations. Best results will be obtained where good hygiene is maintained. Infested areas should be cleaned prior to application and regularly cleaned thereafter to reduce food sources for pests. When treating for beetle pests pay special attention to sheltered areas such as cracks and crevices, under furniture and equipment, floors, walls and shelves. Adult moths can be controlled by applying this product to walls and surfaces where the flying adult moths come to rest.

10 ml/L Millipedes Apply as a coarse spray to infested areas.

Paper nest wasps

Apply diluted spray to the point of run-off directly to the papernest ensuring thorough and even coverage. When all adult wasps have been knocked down the nest may be safely removed from the structure.

External areas and surrounds of domestic, commercial and public buildings and structures, untended verges, surrounds of sporting venues etc. (and other areas where ticks are found)

Paralysis tick (Ixodes holocyclus)

Apply to outside surfaces of buildings and surrounds including but not limited to foundations, soil, turf, trunks of woody ornamentals and other areas where ticks congregate or have been seen. This treatment is intended to control ticks which are present at the time of application. Repeat application may be required during times of high tick activity. When used in domestic garden situations where domestic pets are present it is recommended that the animals also be treated with an appropriately registered ectoparasiticide.

Poultry sheds 5 ml/L water per 10 m2 of

WITHHOLDING PERIOD DO NOT GRAZE TREATED AREAS OR FEED GRASS CLIPPINGS FROM TREATED AREAS TO ANIMALS INCLUDING POULTRY. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Mixing: Add the required quantity of Tempo® Residual Insecticide to water while stirring. Application: DO NOT spray the moving parts of any machinery, electric motors or switchgear with the water-based product. Note on application to carpets: Whilst carpets are regarded as porous surfaces, excessive liquid application may produce water-stains and therefore the non-porous surface rate should be adopted if possible. Hence for short pile carpet, the 5 L dilution rate (per 100 m2) should be sufficient. However, for long pile or shag carpet, the 10 L dilution rate (per 100 m2) may be required, to ensure effective penetration and application to all of the carpet-pile. Since carpets vary in their thickness, colour and material it is recommended that a small, inconspicuous area of carpet be sprayed and allowed to dry first to ensure that staining will not occur. Allow treated carpets to dry before resuming activity on them. Note on native plants and ornamentals: Tempo® Residual Insecticide has been used on a wide range of ornamental plant species without damage. However, some species and varieties are particularly sensitive to chemical sprays and as this sensitivity is often related to local conditions; it is advisable to treat only a small number of plants first, in order to ascertain their reaction before treating the whole target group.

GROUP 3A INSECTICIDE

For insecticide resistance management Tempo is a Group 3A insecticide. Some naturally occurring insect biotypes resistant to Tempo and other Group 3A insecticides may exist through normal genetic variability in any insect population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the insect population if Tempo or other Group 3A insecticides are used repeatedly. The effectiveness of Tempo on resistant individuals could be significantly reduced. Since occurrence of resistant individuals is difficult to detect prior to use, Bayer CropScience Pty. Ltd. accepts no liability for any losses that may result from failure of Tempo to control resistant insects. For further information on managing insecticide resistance contact your local supplier or Bayer Environmental Science representative. PRECAUTIONS For surface treatment only. DO NOT spray into the atmosphere using foggers or other devices designed to create an aerosol. When using in animal houses DO NOT spray directly onto livestock, their food, water, litter, feed bins, or surfaces that are accessible to the stock. DO NOT spray directly on humans, exposed food or food utensils or food preparation areas. Avoid contact of spray with timber to which a stain-finish is subsequently to be applied, unless the owner is notified that the timber will need additional preparation, consistent with that if water alone had contacted the timber. (Evidence of water contact on timber is sometimes only evident once the stain has been applied). Before use, remove or cover all exposed foodstuffs. Cover all dishes and utensils and surfaces where food is prepared. After use, thoroughly ventilate treated areas. Clean up thoroughly before processing/serving resumes. When using as a residual surface treatment for control of stored-product pests, ensure food items in store are not exposed to spray, if necessary removing food items from the area to be treated. Allow all treated surfaces to dry before replacing food items. Where possible avoid spraying actual surfaces which food is likely to directly contact. DO NOT allow spray to contact food packaging material. Discard any foodstuff accidentally contaminated with spray solution. RE-ENTRY PERIOD DO NOT enter treated areas until the spray has dried. PROTECTION OF LIVESTOCK DO NOT spray directly onto livestock or near livestock feed or water. PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT Very toxic to aquatic life. DO NOT contaminate wetlands or watercourses with this product or used containers. Cover fish tanks before using. STORAGE AND DISPOSAL Store in the closed, original container in a dry, well-ventilated area, as cool as possible. DO NOT store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight. Triple or preferably pressure rinse containers before disposal. Add rinsings to spray tank. Do not dispose of undiluted chemicals on site. If recycling, replace cap and return clean containers to recycler or designated collection point. If not recycling, break, crush or puncture and deliver empty packaging to an approved waste management facility. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TRIBUTE Selective Turf Herbicide is a selective sulfonylurea herbicide. It is predominantly a foliar herbicide with less activity via the soil. TRIBUTE will not reliably control weeds that emerge after spraying. Best results are achieved when the product is applied under good growing conditions and to weeds and turf which are actively growing and not under stress. Avoid mowing during the three to four days preceding or following treatment. Application to very dry sandy soils followed by soaking rainfall may cause turf damage. Turf damage may also be increased in highly alkaline soils (soil pH >8.5 as determined by soil in water suspension). Avoid excessive mechanical disruptions such as aerification and verticutting within one week prior to or after application.

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING

GROUP B HERBICIDE

TRIBUTE Selective Turf Herbicide is a member of the sulfonylurea group of herbicides and has the inhibitor of

ALS mode of action. For weed resistance management TRIBUTE is a Group B herbicide. Some naturally-

occurring weed biotypes resistant to TRIBUTE, and other Group B herbicides, may exist through normal genetic

variability in any weed population. These resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if

these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds will not be controlled by TRIBUTE or other Group

Page 96: TURF AND ORNAMENTAL SYSTEMIC FUNGICIDE Turf... · Approved 29.02.2012 Banol Turf and Ornamental Systemic Fungicide Page 5 of 7 BOOKLET - contd DIRECTIONS FOR USE Refer to LIST OF

2016.11.22

B herbicides. DO NOT rely exclusively on TRIBUTE for weed control. Use as part of an integrated weed

management program involving herbicides with other modes of action and non-chemical methods of control.

Since occurrence of resistant weeds is difficult to detect prior to use Bayer CropScience Pty. Ltd. accepts no

liability for any losses that may result from the failure of TRIBUTE to control resistant weeds.

MIXING

Ensure that the spray tank is completely clean prior to mixing. Half fill the spray tank with water, then with

agitators in motion, add the correct amount of TRIBUTE directly into the spray tank. Complete filling the tank

with agitators in motion. Agitation must continue before and during spraying. If pH of water carrier is less than

5.5, use a buffer solution to raise pH to meet 7.0. DO NOT mix TRIBUTE with acid-forming compounds in the

spray vat. DO NOT leave spray mix standing in the vat overnight.

APPLICATION Ensure spraying equipment is properly calibrated before use. Ensure that complete and even spray coverage of all weeds is achieved. DO NOT overlap sprayed areas.

Broadcast Application: Aim to apply a thorough and even coverage of spray to the target weed. Dense stands of weeds should be thoroughly wetted with spray. Incomplete coverage may result in poor control. Equipment set-up should be such that adequate coverage, penetration and volume of spray liquid can be achieved while the potential for off-target movement is minimised. Application should be at the recommended rate in sufficient water to give thorough coverage of weeds. Apply in a minimum of 200 L/ha through nozzles that will deliver a MEDIUM spray droplet as defined by ASAE S572 Standard or BCPC Guideline. Use higher spray volumes (up to 500 L/ha) for dense weed populations or under adverse growing conditions.

The product should dry on the leaf surface prior to allowing traffic on the treated area. Risk to sensitive grasses

such as bentgrass, ryegrass, and Poa trivialis adjacent to TRIBUTE applications is decreased when the soil is at

less than field capacity. DO NOT apply if heavy rain has been forecast within 48 hours. DO NOT apply to

waterlogged soil. TRIBUTE is foliar absorbed; irrigation is not recommended immediately after application.

However, for the next two mornings after application, if dew is present, irrigate lightly (3-5 mm) prior to allowing

traffic each day in the area. Avoid water run-off during these irrigation cycles. DO NOT irrigate to the point of

run-off within 7 days of application.

SPRAYER CLEAN UP

The sprayer must be thoroughly decontaminated before being used again to spray susceptible plants or turf.

Ensure that the following operation is carried out in an area that is clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and

tree roots, and preferably in an area where drainings can be contained.

1. Drain sprayer completely and wash out tank, boom and hoses with clean water.

2. Drain again.

3. Fill the tank with clean water and add 300 mL of chlorine bleach (containing 4% chlorine) per 100 L of

water with agitation running.

4. Flush some bleach solution through booms and hoses and allow remainder to agitate in tank for 10

minutes.

5. Remove nozzles and filters and leave to soak in a bleach solution of 500 mL per 10 L of water while tank

cleaning is in progress.

6. Briefly run the pump at periodic intervals to refresh chlorine solution in spray lines.

7. Drain tank and repeat the procedure of flushing with bleach solution.

8. Flush the tank, boom and hoses with clean water.

COMPATIBILITY

No information is available that indicates physical compatibility with products other then those detailed in the

Direction for Use table. Tank-mixing other products with TRIBUTE Selective Turf Herbicide cannot therefore be

recommended. As formulations of other manufacturers' products are beyond the control of Bayer, all mixtures

should be tested prior to mixing commercial quantities. Note that organophosphate insecticides should not be

tank-mixed or applied within 7 days prior or 3 days after application as there may be increased potential for turf

injury.

PRECAUTIONS

RE-ENTRY PERIOD

DO NOT allow entry into treated areas until the spray has dried, unless wearing cotton overalls buttoned to neck

and wrist (or equivalent clothing), chemical resistant gloves. Clothing must be laundered after each day’s use.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS

DO NOT apply under weather conditions, or from spraying equipment, that may cause spray to drift onto nearby

susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands or pastures. DO NOT use clippings from treated areas for mulch

around vegetables or fruit trees.

PROTECTION OF LIVESTOCK, WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT

TRIBUTE Selective Turf Herbicide may kill or harm non-target beneficial invertebrates where IPM is practised.

Very toxic to aquatic life. DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with this product or used

containers. DO NOT apply if heavy rain has been forecast within 48 hours. DO NOT graze treated turf or feed

turf clippings from any treated area to poultry or livestock.
