TRIMS

Trims are those items that are fixed

with a garment and part & parcel of

that garment. Thus button, zipper,

Velcro are in this category of items.

ACCESSORIES

Accessories are such items that are

not part & parcel of the garment but are

required for the finishing or marketing

of garments. Back broad, neck broad,

butterfly are example of accessories.

BUTTON

A button is an object that is used in a garment either for the

purpose of fastening or for ornamentation or both.

Materials used in buttons: Button can be made from a wide

variety of materials - plastic, wood, brass, bone, horn, pearls,

ivory, fabric, shells, glass, leather, stones, ceramic and

polymer clay.

Types of buttons: 1) Flat buttons 2) Shank buttons:3)

Covered buttons: 4) Mandarin buttons: 5) Shirt collar

Zippers are devices for temporary joining two edges of

fabric or other materials.

Zipper can be metal, plastic, rubber, woven, leather etc.

4. Surgery etc.

LABEL

A label indicates various

information about

garment. There are 4

types of label. Such as

BAR CODE

A barcode is an optical

machine readable

representation of data

relating to the object to

which it is attached.

Eyelet: It is used for

draw string, draw cod &

decorative purpose.

Buckle: It is used for

holding two things

together.

shoes & bags.

It is used inside of

flaps & pockets for

opening & closing.

DRAW STRING

It is used inside of

waist band of trouser.

TWILL TAPE

Normally used for

decorative purpose &

One kind of fastener.

AL-PIN & BALL-PIN

It is used for folding

pinup.

PP Band: It is used for

binding a carton.
