Oppdal encompasses both The Dovrefjell National Park and Trollheimen mountain ranges, and is Norway’s largest rural district with 6500 inhabitants.

80 % of the municipality is located over the tree line which allows for fantastic hikes in the summer and skiing in the winter.

Villmarsksleir has lots of nature based activities and experiences. Exciting and challenging or playful and amusing.

Take the Vengavollsprang over the canyon on your way to after ski in Gamma.

Curling "Intro to curling": is a 1,5-2 hour activity for groups where the participants first get instructions and then play a simple competition. This is done in a modern 4-course establishment with artificial iceThe program is for groups from 4 to 100 persons and requires no previous skills in curling. The season lasts from October to March/April.

Sledging is an activity that everyone can enjoy. Takes place in the ski center in a area prepared only for sledging.

Snow rafting in a real raft. Speed and fun for groups 10 – 40 persons

Snow shoes are an alternate fashion for enjoyment in the snow in the middle of the day or during the night with torches or head lights. Coffee is served around a bond fire.

Snow kiting is the fun of flying soundless over the mountains. High gliding and general fun in the snow, wind and open spaces. Courses and rental are for individuals and groups. Goes for two days and is those over 14 years of age.

Ice climbing is the most splendid experience of nature you can imagine. Oppdal is the Eldorado for ice climbing with many iced over cascades and waterfalls. Opplev Oppdal offers both day courses and to day courses. This is an experience you are guaranteed to appreciate.

Oppdal’s new Culture House is located in the center and offers cinema, indoor swimming pool, library, art gallery and cultural arrangements in the theater and concert hall.

The Culture House is open to all types of cultural groups, physical activities, courses and conference arrangements. The House contains a huge hall with capacity of 650 persons. It also houses smaller meeting rooms and smaller halls ideal for committee meetings and such.With this new culture house, Oppdal has become a fine destination for larger conference groups.

The concert hall has capacity for 530 persons including an am-phi, balcony and floor seating. The am-phi is moveable and can be stacked to an intimate hall for 200 persons. This is a flexible room which can be adjusted to your wishes and needs. On the flat floor there is capacity for 650 persons.

The Hall suits conferences require modern sound lighting and picture equipment.

The cinema and the multi usage hall are the two other halls in The Cultural house. The cinema converts to a meeting and conference room with seating for 104 persons. The cinema is a high quality modern facility with state of the art sound, lighting and viewing technology.

The multi usage hall functions especially well for activities that require flat surfaces. The room is 396 m2 and can be divided by sound proof patricians. Hall A is 213 m2 and hall B is 175 m2. With mobile viewing, light and sound elements this hall is suitable for both small and large cultural arrangements.

The entire hall has capacity for up to 500 persons. The smallest hall (Hall B) has a capacity for maximum 60 persons.

In addition to this we have other smaller meeting rooms in the Cultural House and these are all centrally placed in correspondence to the foyer, the café and other halls.The swimming hall is a relaxing haven which includes a well-being pool, a children's pool, a 25 meter sports pool, a water slide, a Jacuzzi and a sauna all with a fantastic view.

Quality Hotel Oppdal: One of Mid-Norway’s largest conference and holiday/ recreational hotels. The Hotel has 75 rooms, of which 18 rooms are junior suites with four poster beds in rustically romantic style, Lounge, Bar and restaurant Perrongen and is located in the centre of Oppdal.

Hotel Nor: Pleasant hotel in the centre of Oppdal with 75 rooms. The hotel has single and double rooms, family suites, allergy rooms and a sauna. The lobby has a comfortable bar and lounge with a large fireplace. The Hotel Restaurant is Peppes, a cozy family restaurant specializing in pizza.

Oppdal Gjestetun: Located in the centre of Oppdal have pleasant miniflats/studios accomodating3-6 persons, fully equipped with kitchenette, telephone, cable-tv, sitting area, balcony or direct exit to lawn, where you find a picnic area with tables.

Vangslia Fjelltun: 30 log built apartments with splendid view and 2 bedrooms each (4+2 persons), including livingroom, kitchen, bathroom, sauna, TV and wood stove. All furnished in rustically romantic style. All apartments have balcony or terrace and are ski in-ski out.

Vangslia cabins: Traditional log cabins with a superb view and high standard. The cabins have several different styles and sizes, all with ski in-ski out.

Oppdal Alpintun: Apartments, 2-8 persons, with 1 or 2 bedrooms, , lounge with kitchen, bathroom and storage room. All apartments have balcony and are ski in-ski out.

Hovdin Apartments: Apartments for 4-8 persons, 2-3 bedrooms, livingroom, kitchen, bathroom, storage room. All apartment have balcony and are ski in-ski out.

Sletvold Hotel and Apartments: Apartment hotel with rooms/ apartments for 2-6 persons. You will find conference facilities, homely atmosphere, reception, bar and restaurant.

Kongsvold Fjeldstue: A traditional hotel with modern comforts, located in Drivdalen valley, 30 kilometers south of Oppdal, with 32 rooms.

Gjevilvasshytta: Built in 1819, this listed cabin is one of the oldest in use today by tourists. Staffed tourist lodge with 62 beds, serves meals. The lodge is located by the main access point to mountain area Trollheimen. The cabin is child friendly and offers excellent opportunities for one day walks.

Utistu: Utistu offers 1000 m2 of cultural heritage and nostalgia, combined with discrete, modern technology, available exclusively for your group.

Rustic furniture and a open fire makes for a warm and cozy atmosphere .In Villmarksleiren one can enjoy meals in Gamma or the festivity hall Njålshall with room for up to130 persons. Meals served here are prepared with local ingredients with a focus on lamb seeing that Oppdal is Norway’s largest sheep farming community.
