IBM Notes Traveler 9 Beta known issues and limitations:v See the known limitations section of the IBM Notes Traveler 9 Betadocumentation for more information.

v The support site contains additional information as well.

Windows Phone device limitations and restrictions

The following are restrictions, limitations, and notable user experience behaviorswhen using IBM Notes Traveler 9 Beta with Windows Phone devices.

    Mail

v No syncing of Drafts or Deleted Items foldersv No ability to create, delete, or rename custom foldersv No Domino encrypted mail support (view or send)v No mail searching against content on the IBM Notes Traveler serverv Replying or Forwarding mail changes its format to MIME, which doesnot support Domino document sections. As a result, any Dominodocument sections will be expanded.

v Hotspot buttons in a mail message, such as ones that automatically addevents to your calendar, are lost when the mail is replied to orforwarded from the device.

v No ability to set different internal and external out of office messages orspecify start/end dates (end date will always be 12/31/2050)

    Calendar

v No ability to create Domino anniversaries or meeting event types fromthe device.

v All Domino event types created from the server show up as the samecolor on the device, and there is no color delineation between differentevent types.

v No meeting chair actions from the devicev You cannot propose a new time for a calendar invitation on the device.

    Security

v IBM Notes Traveler data on Windows Phone 7.5 and 7.8 devices is notencrypted, as these devices do no support device encryption.

v There is a known issue with the device security policy settings for thefollowing scenario: IBM Notes Traveler policy password strength is set to both Require

Alphanumeric value and Specify a minimum number of complexcharacters.

The Windows Phone device enforces this policy and the user sets anappropriate password.

The IBM Notes Traveler policy is changed such that an Alphanumericpassword is no longer required.

    33

  • On the Windows Phone device, you should now be able to changeyour device password to numeric only. However, this is failing onWindows Phones 7.5, Windows Phone 7.8 and current versions ofWindows Phone 8.0.

LoggingThe logging option for sync settings does not allow a user to retrieve thelogs after enabling "Basic" or "Advanced". It is recommended that thelogging setting be set to "Off". See Customizing your account on page 25for information on how to access the Logging setting.

Possible error conditions for Windows Phone devices

The Windows Phone mail application presents on-screen messages for several errorconditions. In each case, error messages must be dismissed by the user beforeproceeding. Information about why these error messages may be occurring can befound using the Microsoft Windows Phone support forums. Some of the mostcommon error messages you may see (not a comprehensive list), and ourunderstanding of each based on information in the forums, include:

Error code: 85010017/80072FEDWhen users encounter this error code, the device is having troubleconnecting to the IBM Notes Traveler server. This may be a result of lostWiFi and/or cellular network connectivity, some piece of the networkinfrastructure needed for IBM Notes Traveler access being down (forexample, a firewall or proxy server), or the IBM Notes Traveler server itselfbeing unavailable. Suggested steps for debugging include:v Validate the device has a active network connection byenabling/disabling your WiFi and/or cellular connectivity, andattempting to sync again.

v Attempt to bring up an internet or intranet URL using the devicebrowser.

v Attempt to access the IBM Notes Traveler servlet using the devicebrowser (for example, https://serverhostname.mycompanyname.com:1234/servlet/traveler).

Error code: 8500201DWhen users encounter this error code, it is generally because the device ishaving trouble syncing a specific mail or calendar event. This may be theresult of an existing single mail or calendar entry being corrupted during async, or a problem encountered when attempting to create a new mail orcalendar entry while a sync is in progress. Regardless of the cause, oncethe in-progress sync completes, behavior should return to normal.

Windows RT device limitations and restrictions

The following are restrictions, limitations, and notable user experience behaviorswhen using IBM Notes Traveler 9 Beta with Windows RT devices.

    Mail

v No syncing of Drafts or Deleted Items folders.v No ability to create, delete, or rename custom folders.v No Domino encrypted mail support (view or send).v No mail searching against content on the IBM Notes Traveler server.v No support for attachments.v No support for inline images.
