Design Goals

• Building a SQ system on a moderate budget

• Optimal use of available space• Show off installation skills

Wiring

Power wires fused properly

• 20 mm2 power cable fused within 20 cm of positive battery pole

• Original battery and location were used

• 60 amp main fuse

Power wires fused properly

• 20 mm2 power cable from positive battery pole supplies power to the amplifier fuse block

• 10 mm2 power cables were use to power te amplifiers

• 40 amp fuses were used

Power wires fused properly

• Original iso plug of the car supplies power to the headunit

• Fused behind the radio and in the original fuse box

Wires properly terminated

Speaker wire terminations

Wire terminations properly protected

• All terminations accessible without removing panels or equipment are protected against touching

• Ground connections of the amps to the car are sealed with clear coat

Wires protected from damage

• Rubber grommet was used to protect the power cable when passing through the firewall

Wires protected from damage

• All wiring was done using PVC slit tubing to protect the wires

• This same tubing was used by the manufacturer throughout the car

Interior wires hidden from view

• All wires in the interior are hidden from view when sitting in a normal driving position (or passenger position) with the doors open

Installation

Components securely mounted

• Headunit was mounted using the supplied mounting shaft

• A custom trim panel was made for a cleaner instalation

Components securely mounted

• The amplifiers were mounted using a welded steel amprack bolted to the seat bolts

Components securely mounted

• The door speakers were bolted to the doors using 6mm bolts and a custom made trim ring

Components securely mounted

• The tweeters were bolted to the a-pilar using an 8mm bolt and custom made trim piece

• An L shaped bracket was made to fix the tweeter to the cars a-pilar

Components securely mounted

• The subbox was bolted to the car using an 8mm bolt to the spare tire location

• The subwoofer itself was bolted down with 6mm bolts

Mounting panels securely mounted

• All mounting panels serving as a structural hold for components are bolted to the car

• Mounting panels serving cosmetic purposes are pressure fitted for easy maintenance.

Protection of speakers

• All speakers are protected using grills

Normal use of the vehicle

• No equipment was installed in the drivers view

• All seats operate as from the factory

First optic impression

• All parts of the installation are finished

• No part is still “ under construction”
