CCSC Dominates CASL Showcase Tournaments December 17, 2015
CCSC sent 6 teams (3 girls, 3 boys) to the 2015 CASL Tournaments,
some of the Nation's premier College Soccer Showcases. With over
600 college coaches in attendance at each tournament, the U17 SOL
BLACK, U15 SOL BLACK, Jacksonville U15 ECNL team with 11 CCSC
players, U17 RANGERS BLACK, U16 RANGERS BLACK and U14 RANGERS BLACK
represented CCSC.
Luis Torres, Executive Director of Coaching (DOC) for CCSC,
summarized the Club's performance: "I am very happy and encouraged
by the results of all of the CCSC teams at the CASL Showcases. This
is the best overall performance by our club at a high profile
college showcase to date. The boys teams had a very impressive
showing capped off by the U16 team winning their group. On the
girls side the results were highly impressive with the U17 Sol
black team winning their group by playing some of the best soccer
I've ever seen them play. The girls representing CCSC on the ECNL
side were just as impressive winning their group in a very
competitive bracket, but perhaps most impressive was the U15 Sol
team going 3-0 to win their group. The team has been building
towards that kind of success all year and it is something that they
can build on into the next season. Congrats to all of our
teams!"
In traveling to Cary, NC in late November/early December, CCSC
teams faced elite teams from across the Country. With a
Showcase-style format, each team played 3 games within it's Group.
The team with the highest points after Group play is crowned as the
winner. The achievement of CCSC teams at such a high level
tournament is impressive. According to Matt Hollyoak, DOC &
Boys Technical Director for CCSC, “ CASL is a fantastic tournament
that gives our teams and players alike the opportunity to play
teams from outside of our region that we do not normally see. Both
the performances and results from all of our teams were impressive,
they truly show all of the hard work and effort that has been put
forth by players and coaches”.
GREAT JOB TEAMS!!!!
Below is a summary of the results. Please check out Photo Albums on

Clay County Soccer Club’s (CCSC) U15 00 SOL BLACK team traveled to
Cary, NC this past weekend to participate in the 2015 CASL Girl’s
College Showcase against some of the top teams in the U.S. as well
as an opportunity to play in front of some of the Nation’s College
Coaches that were present for the tournament.
The young ladies completed an amazing weekend of soccer by going
undefeated against highly ranked teams from the states of Ohio and
North Carolina to win their Group with all 16 girls significantly
contributing to the wins. Throughout the Tournament, CCSC
controlled possession with exceptional ball movement and technical
skill, a strong back line and fantastic goalkeeping.
CCSC’s U15 SOL opened the tournament with a 3-2 win in their first
match against a formidable Ohio Elite Academy team. For their
second match, CCSC’s U15 SOL met the talented North Carolina’s
Piedmont Triad Football Club (PTFC) and prevailed with a dominating
3-0 victory.
This set the stage for a final match between North Carolina’s 2015
State Cup Semi-finalist, Triangle United Soccer Association (TUSA),
that also went undefeated in group play leading up to the game
against CCSC.
CCSC struck first to make the game 1-0. However, TUSA’s determined
squad bounced back with 2 goals to take the lead going into
half-time of a very physical, tough game. CCSC countered with an
equalizer in the second half to draw even at 2-2. That score held
until about the 73rd minute when CCSC took the lead at 3-2. The
score would hold and CCSC U15 00 SOL BLACK emerged as Group
winner.
An amazing weekend of soccer for an amazing group of girls. GO
SOL!!!

Congrats to the U11 Rangers black for a great tournament
win!!
U11 Rangers White Finalist at ACDC October 13, 2015
After a slow start against the chargers from Clearwater 5-1 loss,
the boys showed great character to come back and win a tough battle
against TBU North White 2-1. This set up a must win Sunday morning
which the boys did in great style beating TBU North Gold 4-1. The
prize was another shot at the chargers in the finals. Although we
lost, the game was much tighter and only after a late penalty was
the result secure. The boys were the only unranked team in the
bracket, I am very proud of their efforts.
