• Total tourism market for the Western Cape grew by 17.5%

Both domestic and international visitors to the Western Cape stayed 20% longer than the

national average.

Factors contributing to increase include large variety of attractions and experiences across

the province.

April to September (winter / low season) is up by approximately 30% from 2013 helping to

mitigate the impact of seasonality.

Of the 2.1m domestic trips taken, we are seeing an even spread between people from

the Western Cape exploring the region and visitors from other provinces. This shows

good growth from both intra and inter-visitors.
