• Energy expenditure (stress)• Energy renewal (recovery)

Mobilize Energy on Demand – IPS

Page 39: THEPAC2014 - Warren Rustand - III Leadership and the Corporate Athlete

Corporate Leadership – A presentation by Warren Rustand

Stress is not the enemy of high performance.

The problem is the absence of disciplined, intermittent recovery.

Cannot change our external conditions.

Can train, manage and control our inner state.

Corporate Leadership – A presentation by Warren Rustand

CEOs can’t afford to address their cognitive capacities while

ignoring their physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. On the

playing field or in the boardroom, high performance depends as

much on how people renew and recover energy as on how they

expend it, on how they manage their lives as much as on how

they manage their work. When you feel strong and resilient –

physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually – you perform

better with more passion, for longer periods of time. You win,

your families win, and the companies you lead win.
