Hello Church Family, Hello, Church! I hope you know that God is blessing our church in many ways and we ought to praise Him for it. Our nursery is full, our children’s Sunday School clas- ses are growing, and our Awana Children’s program on Wednesday night seems to reach higher attendance often. This past Resurrection Day was our largest crowd in about five years. We have reached our Hallelujah Goal, the second goal of our building program. Most important, I believe that we are beginning to turn as a church to being the outward focused church God always intended us to be. What do you think is the difference? We could probably point to several things, but I believe if we really pin down the real cause it would have to be God answering the prayers of His people! I do not think we realize how important prayer really is to the life of a congregation. I issued you a challenge at the beginning of this year. Specifically, I asked you to pray for a boldness in us and an openness in Pulaski County to receive the gospel message. I believe with all my heart that God is answer- ing our prayers. Are you praying for this as well? I can preach, your Sunday School teachers can teach, you can read Christian articles in maga- zines, and learn from a Christian devotional book, but the one thing that none of that can give you is a passion for serving Christ. A passion to tell the good news to those who have not accepted it is some- thing that God grows from within you and it will only grow through prayer. That is why we must be a praying people. My prayer for us as a church is synonymous with Paul’s prayer for Philemon in verse 6 of that book. Paul says, “I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.” Paul asked the Thessalonian Church to pray a similar prayer for him and his companions. Paul asked, “Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you” (2 Thess. 3:1). When Adiel Sherwood, pastor of the Eatonton Baptist Church in Eatonton, Georgia, began to see revival break out in 1827, over fourteen thousand came to Christ in the state. In one little town, Newborn, GA, everyone in the town was saved. That is how it got its name. How did this happen? Sher- wood attributed the revival to “a ladies’ prayer meeting, which had been faithfully observed by a few pi- ous members of the church.” If God can do that in Eatonton, GA and surrounding areas, then why could He not do it here in Hawkinsville? The fact is that He can and desires to do it! But, I believe He is waiting for His people to faithfully pray without ceasing. When we do that, then God will answer our prayers and overflow our borders! Will you pray? Will you pray for boldness in the members of Broad Street? Will you pray for open hearts to hear and receive the gospel in Pulaski County? Let us pray to- gether and see the power of God! Pastor Jeff Waters Pastor Rev.

I believe with all my heart that God is answer-ing our prayers. What a great time of worship

we had on Resurrection Sunday! It

was good to see so many folks

here who do not usually attend,

some of which who do not know

the Lord as their personal Lord

and Savior. My prayer is that

God will bring these unbelievers

to faith in Him as a result of the

seeds that were planted on Easter Sunday.

I am looking forward to our upcoming

choir concert on April 24th at 6:00pm in our Wor-

ship Center. This is a joint event with our friends

at Westview Baptist Church, who will also be wor-

shipping with us that evening. The combined

Choir and Orchestra have been working very

hard for this special evening. We will also have

a joint finger food fellowship for both churches

in our Fellowship Hall. You will not want to

miss this wonderful evening of worship. This is

also a great opportunity to invite friends and family

to also attend.

Blessings,

Colossians 3:16

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and exhorting one

another with all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, all with

grace in your hearts to God.

I absolutely love this time of

year! As the weather gets warmer

and everything is turning green, it’s

such an enjoyable time of the year.

Things in our youth and children’s

ministries are just as enjoyable!

Our Awana program is seeing some amazing

growth, both numerically and spiritually. As we get

closer to the end of the year, it’s amazing to see how

our kids have changed throughout the year. And let

me tell you, there have been some great changes in

the lives of many of our kids. As our numbers contin-

ue to increase, the need for more adult leaders in-

creases as well. If you are interested in being a part of

a dynamic ministry to children where lives are being

impacted on big levels, I’d love to talk to you about

how you can serve in our Awana ministry! We have

a variety of positions available, so just talk to me if

you are interested!

We have a big event coming up this month for

our teenagers. April 22-24 is our DiscipleNow Week-

end. This is a weekend retreat where we stay local

and have worship, bible study, small groups, and of

course fun, right here in Hawkinsville! This is joint

venture with Westview Baptist Church. It’s definitely

one of the highlights of the year, so please be in pray-

er that the Lord would move mightily in the lives of

our teenagers. One need we have for this event is host

homes. Our teens will be split into small groups (6-8

per group), and will need to stay in homes of church

members throughout the weekend. It’s an amazing

opportunity to see the lives of teenagers changed and

to have a special part in that. If you are interested, I’d

love to talk to you more about it!

As always, please continue praying for our

youth and children’s ministries!!!
