Out of respect for our guests and their achievements, the intense work of healing at The Manor occurs within admittedly well-appointed surroundings. However, all time spent here is clearly focused on the goal of recovery. While the framework of each guest’s treatment plan is highly individualized by design, every accommodation made is carefully assessed by a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that it is implemented in a clinically beneficial manner.

The work done in recovery is mentally and emotionally demanding. In my clinical experience, adding a layer of physical stress or deprivation to treatment does not improve outcomes. Rather, engaging with patients within their comfort zones — including

elements of the lifestyle of which they are accustomed — encourages greater openness,

which is key to the entire process.
