THE INNOVATIVE SHUTTERING SYSTEM THE PRODUCT IN BRIEF

The shuttering system is an innovative throwaway caisson that replaces the obsolete wood caissons and allows an easier and faster management of all site operations (stocking, transport, supply, fixing, etc.) relating to placing concrete; its key features against traditional caissons are: lesser volume, transport simplicity, lesser weight (about ( 4 kg/m

2

) and installation simplicity. It is a 5/10 (0.5 mm) thick, 40-60 cm wide and 250 cm long sheet metal, as standard size. Elements can be placed side by side to obtain multiple sizes, or be superimposed to obtain different sizes, with no need for cutting them.

The innovative shuttering system is equipped, moreover, with 10+10 cm, 40-60 cm high angles, plastic spacers, ties to fix the reinforcement, and can be ordered in sizes differing from the standard ones.

Its structure is formed by ribs at a 10 cm distance, according to the wideness, which strengthen the caisson, and by a lighter part with a cut working obtained through stamping and drawing out, which not only does make the element lighter and more flexible, but also allows a better tie between caisson and reinforcement and diminishes the pressure of the concrete cast on the caisson.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

After having traditionally prearranged the reinforcement for the concrete element on which you want to use the innovative shuttering system, it is better doing a short consideration on the way you want to install it, because the ways of use are different and depend on the starting situation.

1. Ribs facing inside without spacers: the caisson is installed with ribs facing the surface to be reinforced so that they can be used as spacers, obtaining a 2 cm cover on the reinforcing steel. After that, you can obtain a 3-4 cm cover on the reinforcing steel by applying a 1-2 cm thick layer of cement mortar. This is the quickest procedure.

2. Ribs facing inside with spacers: to be used when you need to avoid any

contact between caisson and reinforcement by installing plastic spacers between the two elements. The 2.5 cm plastic spacers, which can be used, according to the needs, even to widen the distance to 5 cm, shall be installed between the reinforcement and the throwaway caisson; they are supplied on request by Expert Bulgaria and shall be inserted on the ribs of the standard element.

3. Ribs facing outside with spacers: shouldn’t you need a perfectly flat external

surface, you can install the elements with ribs facing outside and insert plastic spacers between the reinforcement and the caisson. The 3 cm plastic spacers, which shall be installed between the reinforcement and the throwaway caisson, shall be inserted on the ribs of the standard element and are supplied on request by Expert Bulgaria.





4. With vertical ribs: to be used when brackets are horizontal. In this case, angles

to shut the elements are not necessary, because the flexibility of the innovative shuttering system enables to follow easily the profile of the reinforcement surface. Obviously, it is possible to adopt this solution using the innovative shuttering system both with or without spacers, and with ribs facing both inside or outside.

5. With horizontal ribs: to be used when brackets are vertical. In this case,

10+10 cm angles to close the corners of the throwaway caisson, which are supplied by Expert Bulgaria, are necessary, because horizontal ribs do not enable to bend the standard element. Angles shall be overlapped to the standard element for a perfect shutting, and are therefore not to be counted when calculating the surface. Also in this case, as for the previous one, the innovative shuttering system can be installed both with or without spacers, and with ribs facing both inside or outside.

Once you have installed the innovative shuttering system, the tying to the reinforcement is quick and easy, as you only need to let the supplied ties through the holes in the sheet metal and to fix them using pincers; successively you can go through the traditional concrete cast, still without having to look after the recovery of the caisson, which will lie under the concrete.

The innovative shuttering system is warranted only if you tie all the ribs

to the reinforcement with a pitch between a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 50 cm for the transversal tying of the very ribs.
