A SUCCESS STORYMalaria is endemic to Odisha. The state reports the highest rates of Malaria deaths. Remote areas in South Odisha are the most affected.

To prevent and control Malaria in the affected districts in South Odisha, the Tata Trusts partnered with NGOs, health workers, the government to initiate a community-based Malaria prevention and control programme.

Local communities were brought together, engaged, educated, equipped and empowered to fight the disease.

Malaria deaths among children below 5 years has shown a remarkable reduction. Encouraged by the results of the 3-year project, the Tata Trusts have signed an MoU with the Govt of Odisha to eradicate Malaria by 2030.
