stArt At the top with tectAgreen. What if you could extend the life of your roof, improve storm water management and save on energy, all while being your building’s environmental steward and reducing our carbon footprint? All those benefits are possible when you choose a single-source, turnkey green roof solution from TectaGreen.

TectaGreen, a specialized division of Tecta America, is the nation’s leader in green roof installation. We’re the roofing experts, uniquely qualified to install a green roof that’s as watertight as it is aesthetically appealing. Our roofing technicians are approved and authorized to work with any manufacturer on any roof system coast-to-coast.

As the country’s number one green roof contractor, Tecta’s team of professionals set the standard for designing a green roof that is good for the environment, the workplace, and your client’s bottom line.

Benefits of a Green Roof System.*

s Reduced storm water runoff A green roof can retain up to 96% of storm water, allowing it to evaporate rather than drain into a retention pond and lead to financial incentives.

s Energy savings On a 90° day, a green roof keeps the roof temperature a cool 95° while a dark roof bakes to 160° or more. Result: interiors stay cooler and energy costs go down.

s Extended roof life Installing a green roof system has the potential to double the lifespan of a conventional roof.

s Earn LEED points A green roof provides more points than any other technology to achieve certification.

s Reduced carbon footprint Green roof systems allow for plants to absorb CO2 and work to reduce the carbon footprint of your building.

s Reduced Urban Heat Island effect The surface of a green roof absorbs solar radiation and provides natural evaporative cooling.

It takes a roofing expert to build a lasting green roof.

Green roofs are challenging to design and even tougher to install. Safety parameters are daunting when you’re dealing with moving materials around on rooftops.

Structural limitations also need to be taken into account. A green roof places more weight on a roof and lasts longer, changing the requirements placed on the roof membrane and building beneath.

Tecta’s team of roofing professionals understands these issues and knows how to overcome them. We meet every challenge with innovative, long-lasting solutions, whether you’re retrofitting an existing roof or planning a new building.

Working hand in hand with our horticulturally trained crews, TectaGreen roofing technicians install roofing from the deck up through vegetation, and we don’t walk away without being certain a proper maintenance plan is in place. That way you’re assured your green roof is the healthiest it can be. Today, tomorrow, and in the years ahead.

The Single-Source AdvantageWith TectaGreen, you can combine roofing and landscaping services under one contract. That saves money over outsourcing services from multiple vendors. More importantly, having a comprehensive TectaGreen warranty for both roofing and landscaping will assure your investment will be protected.

TectaGreen is not a one-size-fits-all solution. We take a consultative approach to the needs of your building and your business, and develop a sustainable package for your roof. Our team takes into account structural concerns, slope, penetrations and usage needs of the roof to make sure your system is watertight, then provide you with a range of options.

Take your pick: We specialize in all green roof types.

Extensive – Most popular type of green roof as it is lightweight and relatively low maintenance. Soil depth is approximately 3-6” and weight is between 17-35 lbs. per sq. ft.

Semi-Intensive – Fun alternate to the basic extensive with slightly more flexibility. Additional soil berms added to allow for greater diversity of plant heights and texture.

Intensive – An elevated garden situated on your roof. We install everything from raised vegetable gardens to water features to ADA-compliant hardscape. On average, our landscapes require depths greater than 12” and include permanent irrigation.

Slope – Great concept to showcase your roof without the liability of visitors walking on it. We typically install up to a 7:12 pitch, per NRCA recommendations.

Installation methods can fit any size project.

Once you’ve decided on the type of green roof you want, the next step is choosing which TectaGreen roofing system best optimizes your green roof installation.

Modular System

The modular system from TectaGreen is unlike anything else in the industry. Because the system is removable, it makes it more practical and economical for small scale projects. Our modular system allows for superior storm water management.

The 2’ x 2’ modular dimensions make for easy transition from pavers to vegetation. And its simple design lets you choose either pre-planted modules or modules that are installed and filled on-site. This durable, yet horticulturally sound, product allows one to move the modular system around as necessary.

TectaGreen module (2’ x 2’ x 4.5”) comes complete with:

s Water retention fabric and integrated drainage

s 3.5” FLL engineered growing media

s Succulent mix of plants

s Customizable accent plant options

Continuous SystemEvery continuous system we install is constructed and planted on-site as a single, roof-spanning, living ecosystem. The plants grow and spread across the roof as the climate allows. It’s typically more economical than a modular system and allows for more flexibility in design.

Picking the ideal plantings makes a lasting impression.

Every roof top garden is unique, which is why our horticulturists select and approve plants based on a number of criteria specific to location: winter hardiness, heat zone, soil depth, ecological diversity, irrigation limitations and budget.

In addition to climate issues, we also take into account the green roof type you’ve chosen as well as your budget to determine the optimal plan for creating a sustainable green roof.

TectaGreen environmentalists are at the forefront of green roof research and stay current with industry trends, as well as the latest in materials, techniques and design. We take pride in incorporating sustainable measures such as locally sourced and recyclable materials whenever possible.

When it comes to green roof care, we’re always there.

Maintenance is critical to the viability of a green roof. The TectaGreen roof applicators specialize in preventive maintenance and providing your green roof investment with the care and nurturing it needs to thrive. That helps explain why many of our customers have long-term maintenance contracts with us.

Whether your green roof requires ongoing care or is just getting established, our horticulturists will work to ensure your green roof is a success. And with locations across the country, we’re right where you need us.
