TITLE:Bibliographic review on propagation at 60 GHz.Description of workThis activity deals with updating the bibliography of the research group in order establish the starting point within the research community. This is always the first and one of the most important tasks in a research project, since it makes possible to optimize the research efforts and it makes also possible to identify in the world the institutions having similar research lines. Basically, the two main directions of this work will be:Bibliographic analysis on deterministic models at 60 GHz. They are mainly based on Geometrical Optics.Bibliographic analysis on statistical models at 60 GHz. They are mainly based on statistical analysis.

TITLE:Implemention of programmes to analyze the measurementsDescription of workIn a measurement campaign, finding parameters to be measured is one of the most important tasks. These parameters such as power, delay profiles, angles of arrivals, angles of departure, polarization, etc. make possible to identify the different propagation mechanisms (reflection, diffraction, multiple diffraction, etc.) for every kind of environment (microcells, pico-cells, femto-cells).The aim of this activity is, firstly to identify the parameters, and secondly to develop a software that makes analysis of the measurements an easy process. The work will consist of:Once the parameters to be measured have been selected in task B.1, programme routines aimed at analyzing measurements in tasks C have to be developed.

Deliverables:Election of the parameters to be measured.Development of proper software of analysis.Assessment of the software through comparison with data from technical literature.Extracting the parameters from reference scenarios such as an anechoic chamber.Milestones:Year 1: M8-M12: Carrying out of tests in an anechoic chamber with an analysis of the results.

TITLE:Measurement Campaign and analysisDescription of workOnce the measurement equipment is designed, configured and the measurement software finish, the different measurement campaigns can begin. Different measurement campaigns will be undertaken by using both our own antennas and antennas manufactured by the UGR, UPV and UPC, so that the most important parameters of the radio channel will be obtained. This activity will be executed in collaboration with the coordinator of the project (UPV).The work will consist of:Performance of a measurement campaign in microcells environments with commercial antennas.Performance of a measurement campaign in pico-cells environments with commercial antennas.Performance of a measurement campaign in femto-cells environments with commercial antennas.Performance of a measurement campaign in microcells environments with antennas designed by UPV, UGR and UPC.Performance of a measurement campaign in pico-cells environments with antennas designed by UPV, UGR and UPC.Performance of a measurement campaign in femto-cells environments with antennas designed by UPV, UGR and UPC.Calculation of the most important parameters in each of the mentioned environments.Deliverables:Data from measurements in a microcell scenarioData from measurements in a femtocell scenarioData from measurements in a picocell scenarioMilestones:Year 2: M3-11: Measurements of the wireless channel and calculation of the most relevant parameters in different environments using commercial antennas. Year 3: M1-M4 and Year 3: M9-12: Measurements of the wireless channel and calculation of the most relevant parameters using the antennas developed by other institutions.

TITLE:Development of new 60 GHz propagation modelsDescription of workThis task can be divided into two steps. The first one deals with the literature review. Theoretical channel models developed in technical literature will be programmed, as well as those developed by the group previously but modifying the frequency band, since now the interest is at 60 GHz.The second part will be developing new channel models for every kind of environment have to be polished up for every antenna prototype supplied by the different collaborating universities. Also, the measurement campaigns will let up to optimize the propagation parameters of all models. The work will consist of:Development of deterministic models through the use of ray-tracing techniques.Development of stochastic models.Comparison of the results obtained through the measurements with the theoretical models.Creation of new theoretical-experimental propagation models at 60 GHz.

Deliverables:A software tool which allows for simulating the channel response in different environments, both deterministic and stochastic.Adjustment of the developed propagation models in different environments. A new complete channel model at 60 GHz based on the measurements.

Milestones:Year 1: M6-M12: Programming of deterministic and stochastic models.Year 2: M1-M6: Implementation of the software tool.Year 3: M1-M12: Adjustment of propagation models at 60 GHz and develop a new complete channel model at 60 GHz.
