We asked this question as our documentary topic is on music so we

wanted to find out if our target audience would be interested in watching it. We

found out of the 30 people questioned 24 said yes and 6said no. This means that

majority of our target audience would be interested in watching and therefore we are keeping our documentary topic the

same.

documentary target audience watches. This was so we could select an

appropriate TV channel to run our documentary on. We found out that channel 4 was the most popular TV channel within our target audience.

Therefore we will place our documentary on this channel.

We asked this question so we could find out what day and time our documentary target audience watches TV so we could schedule our programme at an appropriate time. We found out that most of our target audience watches TV every day and therefore made

the decision to schedule our programme on a Tuesday. We also found out that most of our target audience watches TV between 6:01-

11:00 and therefore we made the decision to place documentary at 8:30-9:00.

We asked this question so we could get an idea of what colours our documentary

target audience associates with music. We did this so that the graphics and titles we will be using throughout our documentary

appeals to them. We found out that our target audience associates the colours blue,

black and red with music and therefore these are the colours we will consider using

throughout our documentary.

We asked this question as to find out what genres our documentary target audience is interested in. We found out that pop and rock are the most popular within our target audience but a wide range of answers where

given. Therefore this will help us narrow down the content to make it

relevant to our documentary.

We asked this question to find out what other genres our documentary target audience listens to.We found out of that pop and rock where still the most popular. This allows us to still narrow down the content of our documentary to make it relevant to our documentary target audience.

audience favourites artist or band. We found out that our target audience has a wide variety of favourite artists or bands

ranging from Metallica and Guns And Roses to Paramore and Fall Out Boy to

Rihanna and 50 Cent. This shows us we need to incorporate a wide variety of

music into our documentary.

We asked this question to find out how our documentary target audience obtains music. We found out that most people download music, buy

music from itunes and buy CDs. This show us that even though download popularity is rising people still buy

physical CDs and therefore we need to incorporate both into our

documentary.

the 30 people questioned 15 did illegally download and 15 don’t

illegally download. This tells us that we do need to include some

information about illegal downloads as some of our target audience does

consumes music. We found out that the most popular ways of listening to music was through either a computer or an ipod but the other platforms we provided as choices where close. This

shows us that our target audience listens to music in a lot of ways.

We asked this question as we wanted to find out how often our documentary target

audience consumes music. We found out of the 30 people questioned that 26

listened to music every day and the other 4 listen to music every other day. This

shows us that our target audience has a high interest in music and therefore shows

us we have chosen a suitable topic to cover in our documentary.

We asked this question as to find out about our documentary target audience consumption habits. We found out that the most popular time to listen to music was while doing homework or while working or whenever our target audience could. This shows that our target audience uses it as a motivation to get work done. It also shows that our target audience enjoys music and therefore this is a suitable topic for our documentary.

We asked this question to find out which artist or band concert our documentary target audience last went to. We found

out that our target audience had attended a range of different concerts this shows

the wide variety of music taster within our target audience. We also found out that 9 people had never attended a concert. This

shows us that attending concerts is an interest that our target audience enjoys.

arenas or small venues. We found out of the 30 people questioned 15 preferred

arenas where as 6 prefer small venues. 9 people didn’t answer this questions this was because they had never been to a

concert and therefore couldn’t. This data shows us that our target audience mostly

attends concerts in arenas.

We asked this question to find out how our documentary target audience learnt their musical instrument. We found out of the 9 people who can play a musical instrument

5 learnt through school and 4 taught themselves. This means we can include

content about learning a musical instrument through school and talk about

the negatives and positives of it.
