Noun clauses are clauses that can function as nouns, in other words, as subjects, objects, or adjective complements.

Noun Clauses

1. What she told me worried me. (Subject)

2. I thought that she was making a mistake. (Object)

3. She didn't know if she was right. (Object)

Here are a few examples:

As you can see, noun clauses usually begin with a WH-word, such as what, where, etc., with

"that," or with "if."
