Introduction

1 General Description

The remote control pad is connected to the HUB controller and used for remote control of the accessory electricalcomponents of the ECLIPSE TE2000 series.

The remote control pad enables control of the electrical components with key operations on the pad. The remotecontrol pad also indicates a variety of information using the LED and displays on the LCD, such as electricalcomponent positions and information on the attached optical members.

1 Startup1) Turn ON power for the dia-illumination lamp. When

using Uniblitz shutter, also turn ON power for theUniblitz shutter controller.

2) Turn ON the power to the HUB controller.

3) Power is supplied to the remote control pad from theHUB controller.

The TITLE screen appears on the LCD of the remote control pad and changes to the OPERATION screen in 2 or 3seconds.

Note:When you use the remote control pad for the first time, all the optical members, such as the objectives, willbe set by default to “Not attached” and the Operation screen will appear as shown below.

“---------” indicates that the opticalmember is “not attached.”

If an electric component is not connected to the HUB controller, the indication of the component will be blank.If the electrical component is not connected to the HUB controller correctly, the HUB controller cannot detectthe component and the indication of the component will also be blank.If no electrical component is connected to the HUB controller, the screen will appear as shown below.

Be sure to set the controller to the N.C. mode when using the Uniblitz shutter.

The lightmay temporarily impair your vision or the object may be unnecessarily exposed to light.

To prevent this, we recommend that you close the episcopic illumination shutter when switching over excitationfilters.

6 Selecting Barrier Filter

Press the BARRIER key to turn the barrier filterchangeover clockwise or counterclockwise to select abarrier filter.

Remote control operation refers to operating the dia-illumination lamp of the microscope from the remote controlpad.

Press the DIA LAMP REMOTE key to turn remote controloperation ON or OFF.

Note:When EXTERNAL switch of the dia-illumination lamp power supply is OFF, you cannot operate the lamp on theremote control pad nor turn the remote control operation ON or OFF. The LED will not light up.

You can turn the lamp ON or OFF as long as the LED ofthe REMOTE key is green.

Press the DIA LAMP ON/OFF key to turn the lamp ON orOFF.

Note:When the LED of the DIA LAMP REMOTE key is orange or is unlit, the LED of the DIA LAMP ON/OFF key will notlight up.

(3) Adjusting Lamp Voltage

You can adjust the lamp voltage as long as the LED of theREMOTE key is green.

Press the DIA LAMP ADJ. key to adjust the lamp voltage.

Screen indication:

(1) The lamp voltage is indicated with a resolution of0.5 v.

For example, if the voltage is 9 v or more and below9.5 v, it will be indicated as 9 v.

Note:When the LED of the DIA LAMP REMOTE key is orange or is unlit, the lamp voltage will not be indicated.

Adjusting the lamp voltage will also alter the color cast of the light. When color fidelity is important - for example,when taking a color photo, - use an ND filter to adjust brightness.

11 Outputting External Trigger

When the input for a key is read correctly, the key positionin the key layout on the screen will be indicated in black.

4 Press the [ ] key to end the key input test.

5 Press the MODE key to return to OPERATION screen.

(2) LED ON/OFF Test







2 Move “→” using the key or the key to select “LED.”

Press the [ ] key. The LED ON/OFF test will begin.

All the LEDs light green and then go out one by one inintervals of about 0.5 seconds, except that the ANALYZERIN/OUT key and LCD ON/OFF key light green, turn toorange, and then go out.

3 Press the [ ] key to end the LED ON/OFF test.


(3) LCD Indication Test







2 Move “→” using the key or the key to select “LCD.”

Press the [ ] key. The LCD indication test will begin.

The whole screen turns black and then white repeatedly atintervals of about 3 seconds.

3 Press the [ ] key to end the LCD indication test.

4 Initializing Focus Motion Potentiometer

The potentiometer can be initialized at each reference point to detect absolute position of the focusing mechanism.

Use this function after changing the combination of the microscope and HUB controller.

Initialization takes about 3 minutes to be completed. During initialization, never touch the coarse or fine focusknobs.

1 Remove the rear panel of the remote control pad and setDIP switch No.8 to ON.







3 After the TEST 2 screen appears, press the Z-AXI. RESETkey.

Initialization of the focus motion potentiometer begins.

The initialization takes about 3 minutes at maximum.

4 When the initialization is completed, a “Complete!”message appears and remains displayed for about onesecond.Also, the HUB controller sounds the buzzer.

Note:The buzzer sounds as follows:

Upon normal completion: a peepUpon failure of normal completion: four peepings

5 Turn off the power to the HUB controller.

Set DIP switch No.8 to OFF and reattach the rear panel tothe remote control pad.

Use the coarse focus knob to lower the focusingmechanism 2 to 3 mm, then turn on the HUB controller.

Turning the coarse focus knob halfway lowers the focusingmechanism about 2.5 mm.

Note:After initialization, the focusing mechanism islocated at the highest position.
