WHY SYLVAI{IA'S IIFELI]{E LAMPTHE GREATEST ,.EXTNA VALUENN IN F20% LONGER LIFEFirst of all, Sylvania Lifeline Fluorescents giveyou 9000 hours of rated average life. That's1500 hours more than the average of otherfluorescents. It means you can count on almost4 years of lighting service, burning 50 hours aweek. It means a 20/. longer period beforeyou need to buy new lamps. In other words, you get a 20/. return on your initial lamp in-vestment - plus a 20/o return on the laborcost of lamp replacement..".AN EXTRA VALUEwcRTH $740*It's easy to place a definite dollar value on theLifelines' longer life. Assume a labor cost of$1.00 (including overhead) for the 20 minutesit takes to individually replace one lamp -plus a lamp cost of 85( (at 35lo discount) on a40 watt lamp - and you get $1.85. N4ultiplythis by l/5th to find the actual value of theLifeline's l/ith extra life - and you get 37(per lamp - or $740 on 2000 lamps in a 1000-fixture installation.3% LOWER POWER COSTSylvania Lifeline fluorescents not only deliverhigher sustained light output than competitive

fluorescents - but they actually consume /esselectricity. In the case of the 4O-watt Lifeline, conservatively 1.2 watts less.Over the Lifeline's 9000 hours of rated averagelife - this lower power consumption results instill further lighting economy. In fact, it canamount to an actual wattage saving of 3/o perlamp."..ANOTHER EXTRAVALUE, WORTH$ 3 00-400*You can also translate this lower power costinto actual dollar value. Take 3/" of 40 wattsand you get 1.2 watts. Multiply this by the lifeof the lamp - 9000 hours - and you get 10.8KWH less power over the rated average life.Based on an average industrial rate of 1.51per kilowatt hour and a 3-hour cycle of lampoperation, the wattage saving is 16l per 40-watt lamp - or $320 on 2000 40-watt lamps ina typical 100O-fixture installation. Based onlonger burning cycles the savings would beappreciably greater over the life of the lamp. The amount would vary, of course, with theparticular Lifeline Lamp involved. For exam-ple, in the case of an S-foot Lifeline SlimlineLamp, the wattage saving would come to 20fper lamp - or $400 on 2000 lamps in a typicalI 000-fixture installation.

    YOUHrsroRYHIGHtrR SUSTAINED LIGHT oUTPUT

Light output of all Sylvania Lileline lamps has been boostedtwo ways. They deliver more light initially - and continue todeliver more light throughout life. For example, initial rating(after 100 hours of burning) of 40 rvatt Cool White Lifelines is3100 lumens - and in White and Warm White, 3200 lumens. When you buy lamps it's more irnportant to look for a highersustained light output than a higher initial output - which maybe drastically reduced over the life of the lamp. Sylvania was thefirst lamp manufacturer to point this out - by publishing lumen,or light output values at 40fo of rated life - which representsthe average light output delivered throughout the life of thelamp. All of Sylvania's new Lifeline lamps have a built-in sustainedIight output and this provides an appreciable increase in lumenhours over other fluorescents. For example, the 4O-watt CoolWhite Lifeline carries a rating of 2800 lumens at 3600 hours$0f. of rated Lifeline life) - an increase of 4 million lumenhours over the life of the lamp.So - when you buy Lifelines you get not only longer life but amore serviceable lamp - which continues to deliver the highestsustained lieht output of any fluorescents you can buy.*ln shorl, fie tolol [xlro Volue you receive during fte roled overoge life of2000, 40 woft (ool White Sylvonio Lifeline lomps in o typirol 1000-fixtureinstollotion would be $1060.

SPECIAL FEATURE. . .40 WATT I.IFELIilESARE ,'UNIVERSALS''Sylvania 40 watt Lifelines are "uni-versal" lamps that will operate onboth Preheat circuits (with starters)or Rapid Start circuits (without start-ers). And regardless of ballast type orage of fixture. This simplifies yourordering and stocking - makes it un-necessary to carry different types of40 watt lamps for different types offixtures - and saves maintenance time,Iabor and expense.
