The SWC openned for writing

advising in 1991. In the past 21 years over 120 writing advisors have worked in the SWC:

(roughly) 52 SLCC facutly, 68 SLCC students and 17 volunteers. During this time the SWC has had

1 Director.

In 2011, the SLCC Student Writing Cen-ter (SWC) conducted 6,523 writing advis-ing sessions. That is 172,263 minutes of tutoring. If one writing advisor took

on this task, she would tutor for 118.24 days with no sleep or breaks. That’s

472.96 eight hour work days.

We averaged 148.25 sessions per week.
