Tap the palette at the top of thescreen to select a course element,and then tap where on the courseyou'd like to place it. You canmove Mario by tapping him withthe stylus and then sliding itacross the screen, or you canmove him with /.

Ta to set the course'stime limit and the speed of theautoscroll feature. Adjusting theseaspects can make a course moredifficult. Try setting a really shorttime limit or a super-fast autoscrolland see what difference it makes!

You can select multiple courseelements at once by pressing /and dragging the stylus across theTouch Screen. Press / twice toexit Multi-Grab Mode, and you'llbe able to move the selectedelements together as one unit.

By touching Mario and dragginghim into a pipe, you can create asubarea. Ta t o switchbetween editing the two areas.

Sele from thpale t te , and thetouch the screen tlay it. Tracks can blaid in up to eigdirections. The directions you canlay a track in will be displayed asdots to be joined. Drag an enemyor other element onto the track,and it will move along the pathyou've created. Tap the end pointof a track to switch it between thereturning- and dead-end types.

Press / twice to enter CopyMode. Tap an element you'vealready placed, and then slide thestylus across the Touch Screen toplace a copy of i t . You'll lose a life if you bump intoan enemy as Small Mario, fall intoa hole, or if time runs out. InSuper Mario Challenge and the100 Mario Challenge, Mario's totalremaining lives will be reduced byone each time you lose a life. Ifthe number reaches zero, it'sgame over.◆ If you lose a life five times on

the same Super MarioChallenge course, you'll havethe option of accepting anAssist Item to help you out onyour next attempt.

You'll get some new courseelements to use during coursecreation when you clear a worldfor the first time.

You know the dril l: PrincessPeach™ has been kidnapped, andonly Mario can get her back! Trackher down through 18 worlds ofstages created by the goodpeople at Nintendo. But here's thekicker: you only have 10 lives!

Courses you clear will beautomatically saved to Coursebot(page 11), so you'll be able toplay them again and again or evenmodify them yourself.
