    FINISHED QUILT SIZE 66” x 74” Finished Block Size 12” x 12” Measurements include ¼” seam allowance. Sew with right sides together unless otherwise stated.

    Please check our website www.rileyblakedesigns.com for any revisions before starting this project. This pattern requires a basic knowledge of quilting technique and terminology. The quilt and block diagrams portrayed are virtual images. The layout and look of your project may differ when using actual fabric.

    FABRIC REQUIREMENTS 1 Summer Celebration Fat Quarter Bundle (FQ-4440-18) 15/8 yards (1.5 m) white main (C4440 White) 2 yards (1.85 m) snow white shade (C200-03 Snow White) Binding 5/8 yard (60 cm) Backing 4½ yards (4.15 m)

    CUTTING REQUIREMENTS Please read instructions first before cutting. Seam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting sashing and border pieces.

    Fat Quarter Stack Cut 1 square 6½” x 6½” and 8 squares 3½” x 3½” from each of the following assorted prints:

    blue main, yellow main, blue paisley, yellow paisley blue pinwheels, navy pinwheels, blue quilt, multi quilt red quilt, red stars, yellow waves

    Cut 2 squares 6½” x 6½” and 16 squares 3½” x 3½” from each of the following assorted prints:

    blue stars, red waves Cut 4 squares 3½” x 3½” and 4 rectangles 3½” x 6½” from each of the following assorted prints:

    white main, white paisley, multi pinwheels, multi stars blue waves

    White Main Cut 7 strips 7½” x WOF for Border 1.

    Snow White Shade Cut 4 strips 3½” x WOF. Cut the strips into 40 squares 3½” x 3½”. Cut 7 strips 3½” x WOF. Cut the strips into 40 rectangles

    3½” x 6½”. Cut 6 strips 4½” x WOF for sashing. Sew the strips together

    and cut into 4 rectangles 4½” x 60½” for sashing.

    QUILT ASSEMBLY Refer to quilt photo for placement of fabrics.

    Summer Star Block These instructions are to make 1 block. Refer to quilt photo as each block is a different combination of fabrics. Draw a line from corner to corner on the wrong side of 8 print 3½” squares. Place a 3½” square on top of a snow white shade 3½” x 6½” rectangle or a print 3½” x 6½” rectangle and sew on the line. Leave a ¼” seam allowance and trim excess. Press. Repeat on the other side. This will make 1 Flying Geese Unit. Repeat to make 4 Flying Geese Units.

    Sew a Flying Geese Unit to the left and right side of a print 6½” square. Sew a snow white shade 3½” square to each side of the 2 remaining Flying Geese Units. Sew the 3 rows together to complete the Summer Star Block. Repeat to make 15 Summer Star Blocks.

    Quilt Center Assembly Refer to the quilt photo for block placement. Sew 5 Summer Star Blocks together to create a column. Repeat to make 3 columns of Summer Star Blocks. Sew the Summer Star columns and the 4 snow white shade 4½” x 60½” sashing rectangles together to create the quilt center.

    Border Seam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces. Sew border strips together end to end if necessary to get the length needed. Sew side borders first.

    Border 1 Side borders should be 60½”. Top and bottom borders should be 66½”.

    Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back. Bind with your favorite Riley Blake fabric from the Summer Celebration Collection. Have fun with your colors and enjoy the journey of making your quilt.
