2. Learning Village
Houghton Mifflin Learning Village is an application that both educators and students can join together in a learning community. Collaborating among its members help students higher level thinking which is crucial for 21st century learners. Educators can use the space to collaborate and align to state standards that are created and designed specifically for our school district. The calendar feature is useful for both student and teacher to keep track of assignments, projects, readings etc.

5. Recognizing Problem
Or Need
I had heard this expression from my principal and thought what a great concept. Although, I am not a teacher, I often hear from teachers that they feel overextended. Teachers time is often consumed by creating meaningfullesson plans that will extend the students thought process, finding the time to implement each lesson, grading to a rubric and providing insightful comments not to mention benchmark testing, teaching to standards and finding ways to meet each studentat their present level. No wonder why when a new concept, idea or program is "pushed" on them they are closed off and thinkit is "just something else to do".
All too often, educators lack the critical instructional resources to provide students with the individual support they need. Now, with the power of technology, educators can enhance classroom content and make curriculum available to all students and teachers from one central learning hub. By effectively integrating digital content as a learning tool across the entire district, teachers and students gain unlimited opportunities for focused, efficient instruction that connects and aligns resources to the district benchmarks.
6. As 21st learning is upon usHoughton Mifflin Learning Village is a powerful instructional framework that represents the next generation of learning creating a single point of access for curriculum, communication, collaboration, teaching and professional development.

21. Philosophy
As a school we are an educational organization with goals to help students progress in theirlearning and help them become and feel successful. Part of that is to differentiate lessons based on students needs. Learning Village can help obtain those goals by providing a way for teachers to collaborate and share lessons. Not every student gets it the first time or necessarily the way we teach it. It is important that we find ways to engage those students without taking the time and effort to redo or rethink our lessons.
We know a teachers time is valuable, so why not share our expertise and knowledge with one another and we will more likely connect concepts with students.Learning Village will analyze each students performance and identify resources that will help your instruction.

23. Believe
As becoming an educator each one of us made a commitment to provide what is best for students. What better way than to implement Learning Village. A specifically designedprogram for our all of us that will align objectives, content, assessment and resources to our benchmarks and standards. We are all educators who wish to do the very best we can for each and every student. Learning Village is a platform that can aide us in achieving that in a more efficient way.
Advocacy of innovation and commitment to integration on the part of the institution's administration is essential to its success,in addition to a strong advocacy ,conditions are necessary for technology adoption and diffusion, training on real needs is crucial to its integrationTime for experimentation and development of applications is essential. Successful peer users are needed to lead its integration into the curriculum. This we can do!
Lets be a part of the implementation of this great tool designed specifically forour needs.
