BAND SAW BLADES

The EXCELTM band saw blades feature a high tooth hardness (67- 69 RC) with an 8% cobalt M42 tool steel cutting edge. They are available in Broach tooth, Posi tooth and Hook tooth styles. The Broach tooth has a less aggressive zero degree rake angle that resists tooth strippage especially on smaller cross sections while retaining the high hardness and superior abrasion resistance needed for cutting high alloy, heat treated, or stainless steels. The Posi tooth and Hook tooth styles combine the high hardness and superior abrasion resistance qualities with an aggressive rake angle and a strong back angle to provide faster cuts on solid work pieces where tooth strippage is not a common occurrence.

The CONTOUR BANDTM saw blades feature a high hardness (67-69 RC) with an 8% cobalt M42 edge. They are available in narrow widths with Hook tooth, Constant tooth and Broach tooth styles for radius and straight cutting. The Hook tooth style combines an aggressive rake angle for faster cuts and is an excellent choice for aluminum and non-ferrous materials. The Constant tooth and Broach tooth have less aggressive zero degree rake angles that resist tooth strippage especially on smaller work pieces while retaining the high hardness and superior abrasion resistance needed for cutting high alloy, heat treated, or stainless steels.

BAND SAW BLADES TRI-TEMP HARD EDGE, HARD BACK Tri-Temp blades are manufactured from high carbon alloy steel. Through a special heat treating process, a spring tempered hardness is given to the back of the blade. This quality allows the blade to be given more tension for added rigidity, resulting in straighter cuts and accuracy in contour cutting. Its greater tensile strength allows heavier feeds and provides longer blade life for production cutting. Tri-Temp is not recommended to be run at speeds over 4,000 feet per minute. For added versatility and performance, we recommend the original varied pitch Broach Tooth and Posi Tooth blades.


CARBON HARD EDGE, FLEX BACK A hard edge, flexible back blade for horizontal cut-off machines, and contour and straight cutting on vertical band saw machines. Its economical cost makes it a good choice for cutting “easy to machine” metals, wood, plastics and other materials that do not require high production blades. Carbon is a light duty production blade that is well suited for machines with small wheel diameters.

HARD EDGE, FLEX BACK Heavy duty for wood, metal and the furniture industries. A hard edge, flexible back blade with extra thickness (.032) for extra rigidity, strength and blade life. Widely used by the woodworking industries, especially furniture manufacturers. Also used on aluminum, magnesium, brass, etc. X-tra Duty™ is manufactured with a Hook tooth design and is available in 1/4”, 3/8" and 1/2”. Not recommended for machines that take a 15’ band or less.

FRICTION BANDS

FOR FRICTION CUTTING ONLY A special silicon carbon steel with good abrasion resis-tance and fatigue life is used for the manufacture of fric-tion cutting blades. Friction cutting is accomplished by running the band saw blade at high speed (8,000-15,000 S.F.P.M.). The high frictional heat created allows the blade to burn or melt away the material and the saw teeth re-move the molten metal from the work piece. Very thin or odd-shaped metals may be successfully cut by friction sawing when conventional methods fail.

This is the ultimate cutting tool for resawing hard and abrasive wood species. The precision ground cutting surfaces provide fast, smooth cuts. As in all mill type operations, for optimum life, care must be taken to be sure the wood is free from metal contaminants, such as nails, fence wire, bullets, etc.

This is an excellent heavy duty blade for production wood cutting. An Rc hardness of 67 on the tooth edge provides long blade life, especially for cutting abrasive, exotic wood species. As in all mill type operations, for optimum life, care must be taken to be sure the wood is free from metal con-taminants, such as nails, fence wire, bullets, etc.

The TIMBER MASTER TK™ band saw blade line covers a wide range of wood cutting applications. All blades are made of overwidth stock, which gives higher beam strength for fast, true cuts. All blades are factory set and delivered “ready-to-run” out of the box. Any TIMBER MASTER TK™ blade can be resharpened for extended life and optimal cost effectiveness.

A good general purpose blade intended for larger saws cut-ting more difficult wood species. The 45 Rc hardness of the backer provides a stiffer cutting tool, where true cutting is a key priority.

This is a good general-purpose blade for smaller saws and resaws. The 32 Rc hardness of the backer provides long fatigue life for multiple resharpenings and economical saw operations.

PALLET RECLAIM COLLECTION The Sterling® Pallet Reclaim Collection includes saw blades designed for pallet dismantling saws. The collection includes bi- metal and carbon blades for band saws and specifically designed safety tip bi-metal blade for reciprocating saws. All blades in the collection feature a modified wave set pattern that reduces the amount of force necessary to cut through the pallet. Reduced force prolongs blade life, reduces operator fatigue leading to increased pallet processing productivity.

STANDARD TOOTH Shatter resistent bi-metal construction allows blades to bend and flex. The high hardness tool steel cutting edge provides extended tool life compared to other hacksaw blades.

VARIED PITCH The original varied pitch tooth design was patented and introduced by Diamond Saw in 1937, on hand hacksaw blades. Over the years, improvements and variations have kept this blade on top in cutting ease and efficiency.

Mini-Hacks are packaged 1 per pouch. High Tension frames are packaged 5 per box.


HAND HACKSAW FRAMES #10022 High Tension hacksaw frame for 12" bi-metal hacksaw blades allows tensioning of bi-metal hacksaw blades up to 28000 PSI by turning tension knob four complete turns. Blades can be mounted straight or at a 45° angle for flush cutting. Extra blade storage inside hollow tube. Will accommodate hacksaw or recip. blades to use as a jab saw.

The Sterling Mini-Hack handle will accommodate wood or metal cutting ½” shank reciprocating blades as well as hand hacksaw blades.

HOLE SAW KITS A selection of four different hole saw kits which include Bi-Metal Pro Pack, Bi-Metal Plumber’s, Bi- Metal Electrician’s and Carbide Tipped kits. The contents of each kit include the most commonly used hole saws, arbors and accessories used for that particular trade task. All hole saws are packed in a sturdy plastic case.

ARBORS A selection of five different arbors, each supplied with a ¼” pilot drill, will accommodate all universal types of hole saws. Order arbors by product number to fit whatever hole saw is being used. Quick change arbors (57045 & 57072) permit change of hole saw without removal of arbor from chuck.

¼” PILOT DRILLS A pilot drill is included with each arbor or is available separately.

ARBOR ADAPTOR This arbor adaptor converts ½” -20 threaded arbors (57014, 57015, 57016, 57018) to 5/8"-18 thread size to accommodate larger diameter saws. Not recommended for use with saws over 1-1/2" diameter.
