Gauge their interest and introduce their parents to GAPP via email. Schedule follow up conversations to speak to their concerns and elevate the once-in-a-lifetime opportunities of the exchange. Introduce them to GAPP (we’re a program of the Goethe- Institut and supported by the U.S. Department of State), citing student and parent support to make your case. We can send you more tools— a brochure, flyer, and poster—to make it even easier to show your school leaders the value of GAPP. STEP 2 STEP 3 APPLY FOR A GRANT OR SCHOLARSHIP GAPP awards an average of $2,300 per exchange group and has additional scholarships for students in need. Finalize your participating students and travel dates with your German partner school and apply for a travel grant. To apply for a student scholarship, please email or call us for details. We recommend getting a group of 10–20 students together to visit your partner school and live with host families in Germany. Your students will host their German partners in their own homes as well to make for a truly reciprocal intercultural exchange. Here are the steps to get started.
