OVERVIEW | ANU & NAVEEN JAIN WOMEN’S SAFET Y XPRIZE ST YLE GUIDE

The Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE is excited to congratulate you on your participation in this journey. This competition challenges teams like you from around the world to leverage technology to keep women and communities safe. The winning team’s solution will autonomously and inconspicuously trigger an emergency alert and transmit information to a network of community responders, all within 90 seconds. The winning technology will cost no more than US $40, to help ensure it is affordable.

This style and brand guide will provide the necessary information for your team to navigate competition brand and logo usage associated with the registered mark of the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE.

It will also clearly spell out the flexibility each team has to appropriately recognize your own sponsors, donors, and partners for their contributions to your team’s mission.

The processes outlined in this document serve as best practices to ensure the competition is successful.

Please use the following as a guide when working with any logo, branding, or language that pertains to the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE, our sponsors, or the XPRIZE Foundation.

Please note:All uses of marks and terminology must be submitted to XPRIZE for written approval.

Teams are responsible for ensuring compliance with the guidelines established here as well as managing submission of materials to XPRIZE.

- Once XPRIZE has approved a particular use of Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE marks or terminology, teams are not required to obtain written permission again for a substantially similar use.

- All materials must be in compliance with the technical graphic standards defined in this Style Guide, and must be accompanied by referenced information including but not limited to exact specifications, sizes, colors (PMS, RGB, CMYK), etc.

In all instances the use of the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE marks and terminology is limited to the specific provisions of the Competitor Agreement (CA) which will be made available to the finalist teams at a later date.

Materials that require submission for approval:

All print, digital, broadcast, video, press releases, radio scripts, trade show exhibits, presentation scripts, internal publications, including all reference or materials related to the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE must be submitted for approval to XPRIZE, this includes all uses of the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE official logo. Approval is also required for a Team’s URL address, social media username, website, avatar, group name and team logo, or other online identifier; as well as in meta tags, Google, AdWords, or other files or elements associated with the Team’s website or online presence is prohibited.

Scope of materials that DO NOT require submission for approval:

Teams do not have to submit the following to XPRIZE for approval:(i) editorial posts to Team blogs,

websites, Facebook pages, Twitter feed or other similar social media websites that mention the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE or

(ii) shares or retweets of, and links to, content or images generated or distributed by XPRIZE.

Notes:XPRIZE retains the right to adjust, update, alter, or modify any or all parts of this document. Any changes are at the sole discretion of XPRIZE.

Submission Instructions:

Conceptual marketing outlines should be submitted to the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE prize email [email protected] prior to production. Marketing conceptual submissions may take the form of text, overviews, storyboards, concept sketches, or story treatments, etc.

Materials must be accompanied by the following information:1. Team Name2. Description/Title of Project3. Requested Approval Date4. Sample layout (PDF file preferred:

Concept/design/sketches may be submitted for approval in their preliminary stages – the earlier the better)

5. Media placement description (e.g. names of publications, dates) where applicable. Notes:

- If you have not received a confirmation of receipt from your submission within 72 hours, please resubmit your marketing concept.

applicable) start date of promotion/campaign

2. End date of promotion/campaign3. Description of material submitted

(i.e. rough layout/sketch, TV, script/storyboard, final art/mechanical)

Time Requirements

Submission of these materials for approval must be made at least seven (7) business days prior to the commencement of production, publication, distribution, display, sale or use of these deliverables.

Competition Logo

The following brand assets will be available to all approved Teams. Please note that brand assets may be updated periodically in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE as they are developed.

The following logo formats will be made available:• 72-dpi JPEG for large web graphics.• 300-dpi JPEG for general desktop

printing uses, and scaling for smaller web graphics.

• EPS or AI, which is a vector-graphic file, for higher resolution.

Competition Logo should be 50% larger than any other mark or logo displayed when used on any and all materials includ-ing device, apparel, printed materials, etc.

The competition logo must not be manipulated or changed in any manner.

When not using an officially approved Competition Logo, such as in written

documents, any and all references made to the competition (written or otherwise), the competition name must be spelled out completely with no exceptions as the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE the first time the name is used and Women’s Safety XPRIZE after that in each instance. XPRIZE must at all times be capitalized, as one word.

Registered Trademark

If the registered trademark that is part of the logo is too small to be legible, then it can be omitted, for example, embroidery on apparel. However, XPRIZE still needs to review and approve.

Guide for Background Colors- When used against light-colored

backgrounds such as white, silver, light gray or muted colors, the 4-color, 80% black (or Cool Gray 11) lettered logo should be used.

Clear Space Required

To preserve equity and distinguish the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE official Competition Logo, it is necessary that the logo be surrounded on all sides by a minimum of 5% clear space. No other trade names, trademarks, symbols, logos, marks, service marks, or insignias may appear within the Safe Zone surrounding Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE marks.- The Safe Zone is equal to a minimum

of 5% clear space surrounding all sides of the Competition Logo.

Team Logo Requirements

All Teams are required to produce their own Team logo that should be used throughout your teams’ partic-ipation in the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE competition. Once developed you must submit your logo to [email protected] for XPRIZE approval. Below we have includ-ed a few tips to remember.

XPRIZE Foundation or Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE may not be included in individual team logos or individual team names.

Team Do’s

Do follow the established approval process and submit all materials in which Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE and XPRIZE marks and terminology appear.

Do submit all public-facing communications referencing or related to Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE competition or XPRIZE for approval. Exceptions include editorial posts on Team websites or social media websites such as Facebook or Twitter.

Do submit all materials at the conceptual stage of production to XPRIZE for review.

Do follow the technical graphics standards.

Do place Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE marks in a white box in the lower-left or lower-right corners when placing on photos – not in the center over an image.

Do display all Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE marks in their entirety as illustrated in this Style Guide.

Do maintain the proportions of the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE marks.

Do include a white background with the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE marks when possible, with the exception of the reversed out versions.

Do follow common practice for logo placement dependent on the piece, such as the front cover and/or back cover of a communications piece.

Do ensure that an adequate Safe Zone exists between Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE marks and other elements, adjoining copy or illustrations.

Do use the acceptable terminology as specified by the Competitor Agreement and this Style Guide on products, hangtags, labels, press releases, advertisements, promotions, etc.

Do spell Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE correctly in all instances.

Team Don’ts

Do not include the name of the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE in the name of your team.

Do not include XPRIZE in the url of your Team’s website.

Do not use any Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE mark specifically identified in our agreement unless advance written approval from XPRIZE has been received.

Do not modify the files, documents or logos – color, font, or change proportions.

Do not rotate Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE mark, change logo elements or positioning and size relationships.

Do not use a Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE mark as a component of any other graphics element.

Do not superimpose anything on a Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE mark or embellish it in any way.

Do not change the proportions of layout of any Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE mark.

Do not screen Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE mark or make them translucent.

Do not alter forms within the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE marks – they should not be shadowed, outlined, skewed, or texturized.

Do not write “X-Prize”, “Xprize”, “X prize”, “xprize”, “x-prize”, or any other variation of the XPRIZE name.

Team Sponsor Association

By definition, a Team Sponsor is a 3rd party Sponsor of your Team (see definition on page 32). They are not Sponsors of the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE or the XPRIZE Foundation. In all communications created about your Team’s association with your Team’s Sponsors, it must be clear that they are a Sponsor of your Team only and that your Team is a participant in the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE. XPRIZE requires Teams to submit a Team Sponsorship Notification prior to Teams finalizing agreements with prospective Sponsors. All Team Sponsorship Notification forms must be emailed to [email protected] and [email protected]. Forms can be found on the Team Portal.

Examples of logo applications on Devices and Apparel

Each Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE team may be building equipment of different sizes and shapes. For this reason, we have asked you to submit your own proposal for how logos will be added to your various equipment. To guide you as you create your proposal, we have included here some notional examples of basic equipment shapes, along with logo placement and size guidelines that would be accepted by XPRIZE. Please feel free to adapt these drawings to your own designs.

- Make sure Competition Logo is visible on each side of equipment – 360 Degrees. Notes:

- This color red: represents the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s

Safety XPRIZE.

- This color blue: represents the Team and Team Sponsor Territory.- Each Team and Team Sponsor shall only receive

one logo placement on apparel, signage and device.

All merchandising and licensing opportunities that reference your Team’s participation in the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE must be pre-approved. Clear guidelines for merchandising and licensing are included below.

Teams may use their own suppliers to produce apparel with prior design, layout, and logo placement approval by XPRIZE prior to production according to the approval process specified on page 4.

Uniforms

- Individual Teams and Team Sponsor(s) logos may appear only once on apparel and may only be 50% of the maximum size (length/width) of the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE Competition Logo.

- Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE Competition Logo must be included on front (min) and back (max), centered if on the back, and have highest placement.

No single Team or Team Sponsor will have its logo or other signage on more than thirty-three percent (33%) of the de-vice, uniforms, or clothing used or worn in the Competition by a Team Member. Team sponsor may only appear once on device, uniform or clothing worn in the Competition.

The Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE challenges teams from around the world to leverage technology to empower communities to rapidly respond to threats against any of their members, ensuring that help is always available when needed.

PRIZE COMPETITION OVERVIEW

The Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE will award $1 million to the most accurate and most usable technology solution that can:

• Trigger location-accurate alerts in emergency situations, even in low-connectivity scenarios

• Transmit alerts to a network of responders and rapidly provide a response to the user within 90 seconds that help is on the way

• Exhibit a novel approach to building or combining existing and/or emerging technologies to better connect users and responders for under $40 of the device cost

KEY MESSAGING

The Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE is a $1M global competition that will leverage technology to empower communities with a transformative solution that ensures women’s safety.

About the prize – The Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE challenges teams from around the world to leverage technology to empower communities to rapidly respond to threats against any of its members, ensuring that help is always available when needed.

Teams will… – The winning team’s solution will autonomously and inconspicuously trigger an emergency alert and transmit information to a network of community responders, all within 90 seconds and a cost of US$40 or less, to ensure it is affordable.

Why women’s safety? – We believe that if a society can help keep women safe, everyone will be safer – including vulnerable populations like children and elders. Our safety from physical, social and emotional harm is a fundamental

human right. And yet, 1 in 3 women globally have faced physical or sexual violence in their lifetime. In New Delhi, a study conducted in 2012 reveals that 92% of women experienced some form of sexual violence in public spaces in their lifetime, according to the United Nations.

Safety and affordability – The Anu and Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE aims to accelerate the trajectory of the safety market with an affordable and accurate technology accessible to all, that will help communities guarantee the safety of each member. The winning technology will cost US$40 or less.

Need for technology innovation – Many safety interventions exists, but most fail because they do not overcome the systemic market failures, including the fact that basic emergency reporting and response networks do not exist in much of the world. In fact, four billion people across the globe lack access to centralized emergency response systems. The Anu and Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE will create meaningful improvements in women’s safety in India and beyond.

WHY THIS MATTERS We need to make the world safer for women. Safety is a fundamental human right and should not be considered a luxury for women. Yet one in three women globally has faced sexual violence, and at least one in five women is assaulted on college campuses in the United States alone. Many nations do not have a universal emergency access number (like 9-1-1 in the United States) that victims can call to report a crime. Despite the universal need for women’s safety, basic emergency reporting and response networks do not exist in much of the world.

The United Nations lists gender equality and empowerment of all women and girls as a critical sustainable goal. Safety is a stepping-stone in achieving this.

The goal of the prize is to use technology to find a solution that will allow communities to rapidly respond to threats against any of their members, ensuring that help is always available.

Branding and Style GuideI. USE OF XPRIZE AND TITLE

SPONSOR MARKS. Except as expressly set forth in the Competitor Agreement or in this Style Guide, Team shall not use the names, trademarks, service marks, logos, insignias, trade dress or any other designation of source or origin subject to legal protection, copyrighted material or similar Intellectual Property (“Marks”) of XPRIZE, Title Sponsor, or other Competition partners, sponsors, or collaborators in any way without such Party’s prior written permission in each instance, which such Party may grant or withhold in its sole and absolute discretion.

II. COMPETITION NAME. Team acknowledges the Competi-

tion’s name is the “Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE” and that this name is the official trade marked name of the Competition and is sub-ject to the restrictions set forth in the Competitor Agreement and this Brand-ing and Style Guide. Team agrees to exclusively and accurately use the Competition’s name when referring to the Competition, including without limitation, in all News Coverage, Com-petition Media, advertising, public re-lations, and marketing materials that reference XPRIZE or the Competition.

III. GRANT OF LICENSE. XPRIZE grants Team a non-exclusive, royalty-free, non-transferable, non-sublicenseable, revocable, worldwide license to use the Competition logo for the approved purposes set forth in the Competitor Agreement and this Branding and Style Guide.

IV. TEAM INFRINGEMENT CLAIMS. Team shall immediately inform XPRIZE of any third-party allegations, claims, or demands (actual or threatened) against Team, any of its affiliates, or any Team Members for infringement of any intellectual property rights by reason of the use or the grant of use of the XPRIZE Logo pursuant to the Competitor Agreement and this Branding and Style Guide (“Team Infringement Claim”), and provide all particulars reasonably requested by XPRIZE.

V. DEFENSE OF TEAM INFRINGE-MENT CLAIMS. The parties ac-knowledge and agree that the per-son or entity that is the owner of the applicable Mark will be responsible for defending any alleged Team In-fringement Claim arising from the use of such Mark (i.e., the person or entity that owns the Mark that are alleged to infringe a third-party intellectual property right will be responsible for defending the claim). To the extent

Team is required to defend a Team Infringement Claim under Section IV above, XPRIZE, at its option, may as-sist in its defense in any such action to the extent XPRIZE reasonably be-lieves such assistance is necessary. Team acknowledges and agrees that XPRIZE may also permit Competition and XPRIZE sponsors to assist XPRIZE in its defense of a Team Infringement Claim. To the extent the conduct of Team gave rise to such third-party allegations, claims,or demands (ac-tual or threatened), Team shall bear the costs and expenses, including, without limitation, attorneys’ fees and disbursements, of defending such ac-tion, without limitation of any other provision of the Competitor Agree-ment. In no event shall Team have the right, without the prior written consent of XPRIZE, to: (i) acknowledge the va-lidity of any claim of ownership by a third party of any Intellectual Proper-ty rights in the applicable Mark; (ii) obtain or seek a license from such third party for the use of any Mark; or (iii) take any action that might impair

the ability of the owner of the Mark to contest the claim of such third party.

VI. UNAUTHORIZED USE. Team will immediately inform XPRIZE of any unauthorized use by any person or entity of a trademark, service mark, or design similar to the XPRIZE’s Marks, Title Donor’s Mark, the Competition Logo, or Competition Media of which Team becomes aware. XPRIZE will have the right to determine whether or not any action (legal or otherwise) will be taken on account of any infringement or potential infringement of XPRIZE’s Marks, the Competition logo, or the Competition Media. Team may join in such action at its

XPRIZE Branding (Continued) own expense if XPRIZE determines any such action is appropriate. If XPRIZE determines that no action by Team is appropriate, Team may, at its sole cost and expense, initiate a separate action (legal or otherwise).

Identifying and Reaching Out to Local Media

We e n c o u ra g e t e a m s t o promote their participation in the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE by reaching out to local media. Not only can local media coverage generate awareness for teams, it can also be leveraged for social media content and sponsorship/partnership opportunities.

Identifying Local Media

• Make a list of the media outlets in your community:

– Consider TV stations, radio programs, newspapers/magazines and online websites and blogs.

• Visit each outlet’s website and identify an appropriate contact:

– For TV stations, this is usually an assignment desk manager or planning editor. If you are unable to find a specific contact, call the station directly or send an email pitch letter/press materials to the news desk.

– For radio stations, a news manager is often the best contact to start with.

– For newspapers/magazines/on-line outlets, identify a reporter(s) who covers the relevant beat/industry. This could be a city/community editor, health reporter, science/environment reporter, technology writer or educa-tion writer. If you are unsure of who to contact, call the outlet and ask who is most appropriate.

• Once you have identified the right contact, research their phone number and email address.

Creating Your Story

• Local media are interested in “local” stories so be sure to highlight where your team is from, the team members participating and what you are hoping to achieve and what this competition means to you.

• Think of what would be interesting to a reporter covering local/regional news. If you are reaching out to an education reporter, emphasize the education aspect of what you are doing. For science/technology reporters, feel free to be more specific about your technical approach.

• Create a short pitch letter, no more than a few brief para-graphs, describing your team and why you are participating in the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE. Be sure to try to “hook” the reporter in the first few sentences, leading with the most important/ im-pactful information at the beginning.

• Determine what resources you have available to provide to a reporter. In addition to a team spokesperson, be sure you have a fact sheet or document that provides an overview of your team and the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE. This helps media understand who you are and what you are doing.

– For TV stations, visuals are important. Do you have video footage of your team? Do you have a spokesperson available for an on-camera interview?

Proposing Your Story to a Reporter

• Reporters will tell you that they are the busiest people in the world. They are constantly receiving information/pitches from companies, colleagues and PR professionals.

• First send your pitch to the reporter via email, and be sure to include a clever subject line that is eye-catching and “teases” them with your news.

• Give the reporter a couple days before following up. If you do not hear a response, give them a call.

– When calling reporters, first ask if they have a few minutes to speak with you (you don’t want to catch them when they’re on deadline because they might decline your story just because they’re busy).

– If they have a few minutes, quickly and concisely pitch them your story.

– If a reporter indicates they are on deadline, simply ask if there is a better time to reach them or if you should send an email.

You Have the Reporter Interested, Now What?

• Be sure to send them all pertinent information about your team.

• Always ask about their deadlines for receiving information or scheduling interviews so that you can prepare and make sure the reporter receives all pertinent information in a timely manner.

• Ask them when your story will run so that you can keep an eye out for it.

• If a reporter asks for background information about XPRIZE or the

Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE, you can refer them to the XPRIZE PR Team. The PR Team will happily provide additional materials or spokespeople to help create a bigger story for your team.

• Do not forget to notify XPRIZE of your media opportunity. We want to see your story too!

• Be aware of an outlet’s lead time, the time needed to create and file a story before it airs/is published:

– TV and radio stations may have lead times of up to two weeks.

– Newspapers generally have lead times of 3-4 weeks, depending on what else a reporter is working on, and if your story will appear in print or online.

Lead the interview

Know your objectives and anticipate potential questions. Bridge answers in order to discuss key messages.

Do not feel pressured to take an unplanned interview.

Do not answer for anyone other than who you represent/yourself.

Social Media

XPRIZE strongly suggests that teams leverage social media platforms to build awareness of your participation in the Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE. Social media is an effective method to share information, solicit partnerships and tell your unique narrative as an official XPRIZE competitor.

Social Media Best Practices:

• We recommend creating profiles on relevant social media channels using your team name. In the “about” or “bio” section, say you are a competitor of the $1M Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE.

• Because artificial intelligence is not the most visual subject, image-based platforms like Instagram or Snapchat may not be appropriate. However, we do recommend creating a Twitter and Facebook profile.

• DO mention and tag XPRIZE in your posts when possible. We will support and share posts that provide value to our community.

• We strongly recommend creating your own content, whether it’s blog posts, videos, images, etc. In addition, share relevant 3rd party articles and content on your channels.

Rules of Engagement with Your Community:

• “Like” or Retweet any/all comments that are positive, substantive, and at all relevant – reward participation.

• Reply to specific comments that are abusive/critical if they show a fundamental misunderstanding of your team and its operations, or if they present facts that are plainly wrong; be plain-spoken, neutral, and polite. Link to relevant XPRIZE web pages where appropriate.

• Take opportunities of any confused posts to clarify things. Be friendly and fact-based. Don’t get baited into arguments.

Twitter

Twitter is a great and efficient way for XPRIZE to support team content. We are more than happy to retweet your blogs, videos and announcements. Here are some best practices for Twitter:• Mention @XPRIZE in your tweets

when possible. It will be easier for us to find and share them.

• @mention key influencers in your industry, especially if you have a relationship – but in moderation.

• @mention journalists and media outlets who write about you. This is a great way to be retweeted to large audiences.

• All common abbreviations are fine – this audience is used to creative word shortening, as long as it’s common sense.

• Good things to tweet/retweet about:

– Progress your team is making toward Prize milestones (as long as within Competition Agreement guidelines).

– Key conferences and events your team is attending, with info about who/ what/when/where.

– Prize-specific news/articles.

– 3rd party articles or content relevant to your team or industry.

Hashtags:

The “official” hashtag of this competition is #womensafety. Best practice is to limit use of hashtags to one or two per tweet, to maintain focus on your message plus be event specific.

Definitions As Used In This Style Guide

Competition Logo: Specific symbol, typeface, colors, and layout used to identify the “Anu & Naveen Jain Women’s Safety XPRIZE”.

Team Logo/Name: Specific symbol, typeface, colors, and layout used to identify the participating “Team”.

Device: Devices used in the competition that may display Competition and Team Logos approved by XPRIZE.

Apparel: Branded clothing worn by Teams at Competition events that display the Competition and Team Logos approved by XPRIZE.

Sponsorships:“Sponsorship” means any agreement or, partnership or relationship between a Team and any other person, group, corporation, limited liability company, foundation, or other entity that will

provide any type of (past, present or future) financial funding to offset costs or other support; or resources i.e. providing software, legal advice, etc. (Benefits) in order to establish an association between Team and “Team Sponsor” (and/or any image, brand, service, or product of Team Sponsor) in return exchange for the Benefits your team receives, you as a team may offer for the past, present or future granting of direct or indirect services, benefits, assets or other consideration (including, without limitation to product placement, social media mentions, verbal or written acknowledgments, and logo or brand identification on signage, banners, advertising, promotions, marketing apparel, device, website, etc.) from Team to Team Sponsor. If the Sponsor receives nothing in return from a Team, they are considered a donor and there is not a need for a Team to submit a Sponsorship Notification Form.

APPENDIX II - DEFINITIONS

Team Sponsor:

Any group, corporation, limited liability company, foundation, person or entity engaged by Team to provide any type of financial or other support in order to establish an association and relationship between Team and themselves.

Rules and Regulations for Team Sponsors

• Teams shall prominently* place the Competition Logo and Team Logo on all printed materials, electronic media, signage, and device that are specific to the Competition.

Notes: *Prominent may be defined as being center or

center top of any and all centralized materials. If materials read from left to right, then prominence is considered the top, left hand side.
