Just thinkin’ about tomorrow clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow till there’s none.When I’m stuck with a day that’s gray and lonely, I just stick out my chin and grin and say, Oh!The sun’ll come out tomorrow, so you got to hang on till tomorrow come what may! Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow, you’re always a day away!The sun’ll come out tomorrow so you got to hang on till tomorrow, come what may! Set during the Great Depression in New York City, Annie is an orphan longing for a home. After being left at the orphanage when she was a baby, she never lost hope that her parents would come for her. She soon crosses paths with Oliver Warbucks, famous business tycoon and in need of a PR boost, who decides to let an orphan stay in his home for the holidays. Little did he realize that Annie would steal his heart, and give him a love that he never knew he needed. Daddy Warbucks, the man with it all, and little orphan Annie, the girl who had nothing, come together to fi nd that all they really needed was each other.

Tori Greenwald is 10 years old and loves her dog, Chewy. She has been singing on stage since she was 4 years old in shows like 101 Dalmatians (Teenie) and Cinderella (Jacque). She will be a fi fth grader at Chisholm Elementary in Edmond this fall. She loves to sing, travel and spend time with her family and friends. She loves Jesus most of all and can’t wait to have an iPhone of her very own.

RINGING OF THE BELLS †HYMN 277 STORIES OF JESUS

Tell Me the Stories of JesusTell me the stories of Jesus I love to hear; things I would ask Him to tell me if He were here; scenes by the wayside, tales of the sea, stories of Jesus, tell them to me.First let me hear how the children stood round His knee, and I shall fancy His blessing resting on me; words full of kindness, deeds full of grace, all in the love-light of Jesus’ face.Into the city I’d follow the children’s band, waving a branch of the palm tree high in my hand; one of His heralds, yes, I would sing loudest hosannas, “Jesus is King!”

†CALL TO WORSHIP Rev. Wendy LambertWe are called together: to be with God and one another; to worship and give thanks; to fi nd joy and meaning.We don’t always know what we need, but God’s Spirit is present, to comfort and guide us, and remind us that we are not alone.In a time of darkness, we know it won’t last forever, morning approaches, and we’ll fi nd light again.A new day dawns for us full of promise and joy.

†AFFIRMATION OF FAITH As a family of faith, let us affi rm our faith together.I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suff ered under Pontius Pilate, was crucifi ed, dead, and buried;The third day He rose from the dead;He ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit;

the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. (* universal)

†GLORIA PATRI MEINEKEGlory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

CALL TO PRAYER Rev. David PoteetThe peace of the Lord be with you.And also with you.

CHORAL CALL TO PRAYER Children are a gift from heaven, each soul trusting and unique, God’s example of faith’s journey for all people who will seek. Children are a priceless treasure, sent from heaven like a dove; poetry yet to be writt en, they bring laughter, joy, and love!

PASTORAL PRAYER

THE LORD’S PRAYEROur Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Maybe far away, or maybe real nearby, he may be pouring her coff ee, she may be straightening his tie. Maybe in a house all hidden by a hill, she’s sitting playing pi-a-nah, he’s sitting paying a bill.Betcha they’re young, betcha they’re smart, bet they collect things like ash trays and art. Betcha they’re good, why shouldn’t they be, their one mistake was giving up me.So, maybe now it’s time, and maybe when I wake they’ll be there calling me “Baby,” maybe.Betcha he reads, betcha she sews, maybe she’s made me a closet of clothes. Maybe they’re strict as straight as a line, don’t really care as long as they’re mine.So, maybe now this prayer’s the last one of its kind; won’t you please come get your baby, maybe.

I’m poor as a mouse, I’m richer than Midas! But nothing on earth could ever divide us. And if tomorrow I’m an apple seller, too, I don’t need anything but you!We’re two of a kind, the happiest pair now. Like Fred and Adele, we’re fl oating on air now, and what’s the title of the dream that just came true? I don’t need anything, anything, anything, I don’t need anything but you!

The sun’ll come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow there’ll be sun!

Each week, students receive reading, math, and mentoring help from St. Luke’s volunteers. Test scores have been improved, and lives are being changed through this community mission. For just a few minutes a week, you can impact a child’s life. If you would like to help by serving as a Reading Buddy, Math Buddy, or Mentor, look for our volunteers at the desk in the Gallery today and next Sunday, August 13. You can also contact Rev. Keith King at 609-1026, or go online to sign up at stlukesokc.org/rancho..Emerge Fall Meeting“Emerge” will be kicking off their fall get-togethers this week on Tuesday, August 8, at the home of Emily Busey.
