Dear Neighbor,

Say good-bye to winter and hello to spring and summer. Get up, go outside and get active. This issue of Splash! is your guide to an ocean of fun that awaits you here in Ocean City. Pick a park and go play with your children or grandchildren outdoors. You might want to visit Northside Park and try our new outdoor exercise area. The area includes 9 pieces of exercise equipment and a warm up/cool down area all covered with a shade structure. Individual and group exercise is welcome at this new fitness feature. Whether you visit Northside Park or one of our other fine local parks, we encourage you to get active and be healthy while having fun. Pick a park and go for a concert. If you like music, come to Sundaes in the Park at Northside Park at 7:00 p.m. Sundays starting July 14 or enjoy Concerts on the Beach each Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. starting on July 10. If you are looking for some entertainment and a fun time on Thursday evenings you should plan to attend Sunset Party Nights at Sunset Park downtown at 7:00 p.m. for a concert on the bay starting on July 11. Or how about catching a Free Movie on the Beach on Monday and Friday nights at dusk starting on June 24 at 27th Street. Details of these and other events this summer are available at www. ococean.com or in this issue of Splash! Visit your favorite spot on the beach. Captain Butch Arbin and the entire Ocean City Beach Patrol staff have been busy preparing for the new swim season, which opens on Saturday, May 25. Guards will be on duty on the beach from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from opening day until Sunday, September 22. This issue of Splash! contains some important advice to help you and your family have a safe, healthy and enjoyable beach season. Always remember to keep your feet in the sand until the lifeguard is in the stand. Choose some camps and enjoy the fun. Our summer camp schedule is brimming over with fun choices for children. Our camp season opens the week of June 17 with Camp Horizon and Scamper Camp. We are pleased to announce that we have added some new camps including a paddleboard camp and beach volleyball camp as well as expanding art camp at the new Art Center in Little Salisbury Park on 94th Street. For a full description of all of our childrens camps, pick up a copy of the Beach Ball Camp Brochure the next time you are at Northside Park or go to www.ocsportscamps.com We hope you find something exciting to try in this issue of SPLASH! Whatever you choose, we think you will Discover an Ocean of Fun!

Sincerely,

Thomas J. Shuster, CPRP Director
