Spring 2017 Newsletter - Volume 8, Issue 2 ATB’s New Program Director Bringing with her a wealth of experience, energy, and enthusiasm, Dawn DohertyKohl was recently appointed by the Kennett AfterSchool Association Board to serve as Program Director. Dawn succeeds Dori Carson, who served with distinction as AfterTheBell Program Director for four years. Dawn began her relationship with ATB three years ago when her oldest son enrolled in the program and she signed up to volunteer. In August 2015, she joined the staff as Assistant Program Director. Dawn previously worked as a bank manager and on the staff of Longwood Gardens. “I am so very excited to be the new Program Director at AfterTheBell,” Dawn said. “I love our schools and working with the students, volunteers and staff of KMS. This is my dream job— making a difference in our community with an outstanding organization . . . AfterTheBell.” As Program Director, Dawn directs the daytoday operations of the AfterTheBell program. She is onsite whenever students are in attendance, she supervises the parttime staff, and she is the liaison to all of the volunteers. ATB’s New Program Director Bringing  with  her  a  wealth  of  experience,  energy,  and  enthusiasm,  Dawn  Doherty-­‐Kohl  was  recently  appointed  by  the  Kennett  After-­‐School  Association  Board  to  serve  as  Program  Director.  Dawn  succeeds  Dori  Carson,  who  served  with  distinction  as  After-­‐The-­‐Bell  Program  Director  for  four  years.

“I  am  so  very  excited  to  be  the  new  Program  Director  at  After-­‐The-­‐Bell,”  Dawn  said.  “I  love  our  schools  and  working  with  the  students,  volunteers  and  staff  of  KMS.    This  is  my  dream  job—making  a  difference  in  our  community  with  an  outstanding  organization  .  .  .  After-­‐The-­‐Bell.”  

As  Program  Director,  Dawn  directs  the  day-­‐to-­‐day  operations  of  the  After-­‐The-­‐Bell  program.  She  is  onsite  whenever  students  are  in  attendance,  she  supervises  the  part-­‐time  staff,  and  she  is  the  liaison  to  all  of  the  volunteers.  Working  with  the  Executive  Director,  the  Program  Committee  Chair,  and  the  Program  Committee,  Dawn  also  determines  the  activities  to  be  offered  each  cycle  and  the  facilitation  of  the  activities  by  volunteers.

celebration  to  commemorate  the  enrollment  of  our  5000th  

student!

We  never  could  have  reached  this  milestone  without  the  compassion
